Ickle Meatships!

Hopefully no one sues me for semi-stealing the SLEEP meme format but!

ICKLE!

Think about or think back on the childhood days/younger days of your character (or your character now if they already are kids). There's a huge playroom with a mountain of toys....

Have fun, Kids! And no fightings!

You man the older Brainy-robo don't you?

"Gods of Naltor." She says with a nod, hair bobbing. "And you're a Coluan." she tilts her head. "And cute." She smiles impishly right then.

It occurs to Brainy that one, the creature clearly can't see him, and two, it actually is trying to speak. Unfortunately he doesn't recognise it or anything it might be related to at all, so the chances of him knowing a language that might be more familiar are extremely low.

He takes a risk in gently patting its head, hoping that isn't going to offend it.

"Can you understand me even if you can't speak very well?"

Affirmative!

[Bouncing on his seat happily, he looks around the room.]

Would you like to participate in a social activity? We could practice construction with the blocks!

"The Physician's Reference Guide to the Human Anatomy," he replied, glancing up at his guest. A girl.

Ew.

"...And what is that?" Sofia asked brightly.

"Mine," Kang hisses, ripping into it again. He will fight over his 'toy'. :|

A very tiny Arha Masaari was seated in the middle of the room, just sitting, just watching the other kids, with a small cup of tea in her hands.

He feels like he's missing something vital here. "But you've already been born, wouldn't you have gotten them already?"

"Not this one." Hunter says. "My gramma got me an anatomy book for Christmas, but it was a kiddie picture-book one, and..." Hunter's face makes it very clear that he is well past kiddie picture-books, especially ones about anatomy.

Nanoha is small. Very small - nine years old, in fact. She's kind of looking around at all the other kids, not really used to so many unfamiliar faces ... but why just stand and stare? They should make some friends!

"Hi! Are you playing with that?"

Yes, she's talking to you.

[identity profile] befriendingtime.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you looking for something, Fate-chan?"

Hi Fate. You probably know this voice from behind you.
notlewis: (Perdon?)

[personal profile] notlewis 2010-02-15 02:16 am (UTC)(link)

Yeah, no kidding. "Wouldn't you have gotten what now?"

A little white haired girl with huge golden eyes has been smacking the stuffing, quite literally, out of a very ugly squishy and disgusting looking toy. A good kick sends it flying.
morphitudinous: (Kid!Billy)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-02-15 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
[His new friend doesn't know what 'playing' is? Billy will rectify this immediately.]

Follow me! We'll build a pyramid together.

[He carefully sets Renne down, stands, and nudges for him to follow. Once they're at the block pile, he places one in Renne's hand.]

This is your first block.

Oh man, Luis could sympathize. "Eww. The ones for little kids are no good, they don't even have all the right systems and organs in them!"

[identity profile] emotionl4arobot.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Brainy frowns, suddenly confused. "How is this squishy? That doesn't make any sense."

The point about his sample size he understands, however. "I know that," he says a little defensively. "But I can't seem to access any of the information systems I would normally, since there aren't any computers around, and I don't have a laboratory to work in. So I'm trying to... improve my social skills, I suppose."

It's something that'd be easier if Tal wasn't there as well. "Well clearly someone hasn't moved beyond early evolutionary stages," he mutters just loud enough for them both to hear.
notlewis: (Oh I see what you did there)

[personal profile] notlewis 2010-02-15 02:19 am (UTC)(link)

"It has pictures and diagrams and information about all the systems in the human body," Luis explained. "You see?"

The page he showed he was about the parts of the skin.

[identity profile] emotionl4arobot.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Your gifts," he says like it's something obvious. "If you receive them on the day of your birth and you've already been born, why are you looking forward to them in the future?"

Clearly birthdays don't happen on Colu.

[Billy shakes his head, chuckling a little.]

No, blocks are not designed to be edible. We stack them, like this!

[He gently takes Renne's wrist, guides the block to the ground, then places another block on top of the first one.]

Yep! Here and in another game.

[identity profile] emotionl4arobot.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
He frowns a little. He wasn't expecting people to be able to tell he was Coluan so easily, but the forehead markings do give away a lot there.

"You didn't answer what grindwump is," he says pointedly. He's going to ignore the 'cute' comment for now.

[identity profile] mynameisax.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
< I never said it was difficult, just nonsensical, > Ax retorted. He saw that expression, Brainy, and he didn't care for it. < And I didn't say anything about four legs and a tail, just two legs and no tail being an odd choice. Taxxons have lots of legs and no tail, Hork-Bajir have two legs and a tail, Skrit Na have six legs or two legs depending on what point of their cycle that they're in, and humans have two legs. >

He gave Brainy an imperious stare. < Just because they can't do it to you doesn't make them not monstrous slavers. And anyway, the species they can't enslave, they annihilate. >

[identity profile] emotionl4arobot.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Taking that as a good sign, Brainy continues petting a little more confidently.

"Alright, so you're clearly somewhat intelligent then," he says, partially to himself. "Do you have a name you can tell me?"
