Ickle Meatships!

Hopefully no one sues me for semi-stealing the SLEEP meme format but!

ICKLE!

Think about or think back on the childhood days/younger days of your character (or your character now if they already are kids). There's a huge playroom with a mountain of toys....

Have fun, Kids! And no fightings!

"Why don't you tell him that?" Brainy snaps back, pointing at Tal. He doesn't understand exactly what the insult means, but he doesn't have to in order to get that it's an insult. "I wasn't trying to insult her word choice, I just didn't understand what she meant."

No arguments coming from the alien. He wakes up, lavender eyes blinking widely as he gently prods the other creature with his mandibles, but otherwise he decides that he’d rather continue his nap than disturb the newcomer (who is pleasantly warm, much like himself).

Aeneas readjusts himself on the cushion, long, snake-like body curling around the fellow alien as he resumes his slumber. He trills pleasantly before his eyes close again.

Okay, so "choice" wasn't quite the right word, but Ax didn't have all of the vocabulary yet. < Humans are strange. They wear artificial skin and hooves and they eat dead animals with their mouths. > And that is gross.

< Well you were acting like it, > Ax said. < And the Andalites are the only ones who can defeat them, so I'm going to be a warrior like my brother and we're going to chase them back to their home planet and make sure they never hurt any other species ever again! >

"Mi Dios, what is even the point?" Luis muttered. He was even more grateful for the dusty old stack of books now. It was just whatever he could find in his grandfather's bookshelves, the shelves at Dr. Salvador's and Chief Mendez's house, but it was better than silly lying picture books.

Kang's eyes light up and he snatches the bar in midair, wings flaring slightly in excitement. Food that's just for him! It takes him a moment to figure out how to open it, and once he does, he sniffs it experimentally, snout wrinkling. One bite, and he hisses, spitting it out. "Not food."

"And I'm telling you why, so back off." Tal snaps, looking as if a punch to Brainy's face was imminent. (Although it would be an exceedingly bad idea, it'd make him feel better for a moment or two.)

"Right! Both of you, we are starting this conversation over again!" Wyn says, her tone daring the two older boys to argue with her. "Hi, green boy who is interested in studying us in order to improve his social skills. I'm Wyn, and this is my brother Taliesin. Everybody calls him Tal, and you probably should too." she continues, determinedly cheerful.

"That's good - if you know how to fight, you might live." Of course, he knows there are no guarantees. "Back home, I carry a Kalashnikov. I'm the best shot in my platoon, too."

Tal glares at the chocolate bar sitting on the ground, a large chunk missing, then back at Kang. "Is too food. It's chocolate."

"Meat is food. Not that," Kang states bluntly, as if Tal should know this. Blinking, he finally notices the fluff on his wing and pulls it off, letting it fall to join the rest of the carnage around him.

The newcomer burrows into one of Aeneas’s more sensitive muscular plates on the underside of his abdomen, which was really more of his own fault for exposing it than the creature nuzzling it. He shudders uncomfortably and readjusts, but now he’s too awake (and far too curious to leave this oddity alone).

The alien cranes his long neck, giving the other a warm sniff. He doesn’t recognize the species, but hormone recognition tells him that this one’s male. Or, at least he thinks so. That sense was still in development (for obvious reasons).

He lets out another trill, cocking his head.

Of course she knows that voice. There's no way Fate wouldn't recognize that voice!

"Um... no, not really..." She said, turning around to face her friend.

Nanoha has stumbled upon Dustin’s metropolis fortress in the corner of the room. Judging from the various items that he has horded back there, his answer to her question should be obvious.

…But she wasn’t going away. So the little boy, probably no more than seven or eight years old, turns to face her with an emotionless glare behind giant chemical goggles that nearly cover his entire face. Or rather, what’s left that isn’t shrouded by his massive mop of dark brown hair.

“Yes. Now go away,” Dustin pouts ill-temperedly.

"I dunno, but I gave it to the librarian up in Valdosta and she gave me a better one. It's not as big as this one is, but she told me I don't have to give it back." Hunter says with a shrug. He knows that this is definitely against the point of libraries, and it makes him a bit uncomfortable, but... it's a book that's right!

[identity profile] enter-aeneas.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Aeneas wasn’t expecting a trill in response. All the other creatures here talked. None of this mattered, of course, thanks to translation devices.

The alien’s purr changes pitch, suddenly manifesting into recognizable speech. Different tones, frequencies, dynamics, or textures could manifest as words or moods. It was surprisingly complex a language for such a simple sound.

“Hello.”

…And far too complex a sequence for such a simple word.

Seriously!?

"Oh, fine. If you're going to be grindwump about it..." she shakes her head. "Someone who is very analytical or no fun when there is fun to be had."

Guybrush likes the vibes he’s getting off of this kid. Might actually put up a fight instead of all these other sissies.

So the tiny pirate, blond ponytail flopping behind him, rushes up to the boy with the cape and holds out his plastic replica cutlass, making a menacing pirate face as he adjusts his eye patch.

“Come and fight, ye scurvy dog!” cries Guybrush, flailing his sword, “Or surrender yer treasure and avoid an early trip to Davy Jones’s Locker! Arr!

Hello, ickle!Guybrush, have an ickle!Princess with a weird hat staring at you dubiously.

"My Dad says pirates are bad," she informs him imperiously.

Over in one corner, there's a rather magnificant-looking fort made out of cushions, blankets, a few chairs, and a precariously-balanced broom. Inside it are two kids - an eight-year-old princess and a ten-year-old Sheikah - peering out at the outside world nervously.

"Do you think this'll fool the bad man?" Zelda asks nervously.

"I'll protect you," Sheik says in reply, trying to feel as confident as he looks.

He looks at her just as suspiciously.

“Well you look funny, you big bed-wetting doodie-head.”

Social skills have escaped this child with room to spare.

"Well, what do you want to play with, then?" Nanoha ran over to her, taking the girl's hand affectionately. "Come on, you should choose!"

[identity profile] befriendingtime.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
This is quite the achievement that Dustin has put together - throwing her off only a bit more than his attitude - and Nanoha blinks as he tries to shoo her away. "Hey, you shouldn't say things like that! This is really neat what you're making - you should show it off to people!"
