Think about or think back on the childhood days/younger days of your character (or your character now if they already are kids). There's a huge playroom with a mountain of toys....

"Dunno." She looks at it thoughtfully, then gets up to get a bag from the corner. "Make a pillow!" And to illustrate, she starts putting the stuffing in the bag. "Now you."

"Pillow?" Kang doesn't know what a pillow is, but he starts helping her put more of the fluff into the bag, wings perked up curiously.

"It's the thing you put your head on while you're sleepin'!" More stuffing, until it's all gone, and then she ties the bag closed. "You try!"

Kang blinks, then takes the pillow from Kaylee and rests his chin on it, laying flat on his stomach. His wings stretch out a bit, one of them bumping up against her leg. "I like pillows. Humans not give us pillows. Maybe not strong enough yet."

"Pillows are good..." But she's looking at his wings as if she hadn't noticed them until now. "Can you fly!?"

Those wings stretch a bit more, and Kang turns his head to fix one eye on her, "No. Only silver ones can." He almost sounds jealous, and his tail lashes once.

"Couldn't you be a silver one?" Silver one what? She doesn't really know, but her attention was on the wings, so she's not like to go into it. She leans closer to look, but doesn't touch--Kaylee knows better than to touch without permission. "What do they feel like?"

"No. I'm bronze," Kang points at one of his scales, as if it should be obvious. "...feel like wings." The one closest to her moves even closer, almost in an invitation for her to touch it. She doesn't have any, she can touch and see if she wants.

"Bronze is prettier," she assures him, even though she's never seen the silver ones. Bronze looks more like an engine than silver ever could, she thinks. Kaylee does reach out to touch one of the wings, since it's okay with him. "Could you glide, at least?"

Kang laughs, holding his wing still for Kaylee, though it twitches once when she touches a ticklish spot, "Pretty? Different from other humans, Kaylee."

He sits up abruptly, grinning. "Can glide! Watch." A quick look around shows a tall slide nearby, and he climbs up to the top and jumps off, extending his wings and gliding down to land next to her. "See?"

"Very pretty," she assures him, giggling as the wing twitches.

Kaylee dances excitedly as he climbs up the slide to glide down, and claps as he lands. "Best glider I ever saw!"

Kang likes this human, and she hasn't even given him any food yet. This is a Big Deal. His chest puffs out slightly with pride, and his grin widens, "Better than brothers! Bigger."

"Bigger? That mean you're th'oldest?"

"All same age. I'm bigger, though," Kang proclaims.

She tilts her head, and looks at him reaaaal close. "Does that make you the leader, then?"

Kang blinks, "Humans are leaders. Too young still. Not strong enough yet."

"Alright, will you be a leader?"

"Yes! Humans say bronze ones are good at being leaders. One day, I'll be one," Kang's wings almost buzz from excitement. Apparently, he's really looking forward to this.

"You'll make a great, taaaall leader!" Tall leaders were the best for sticking out. Kaylee is little, so she';; never be a leader, she doesn't think, but she will make a good mechanic if her daddy's right.

Kang grins, "Greatest ever!"

"Best be!" Obviously, Kaylee would cheer him on. Even if he was trying to say killing was alright. She could teach him better things, maybe.

"Won't kill you when I become leader," Kang says, smiling. "Unless have to. Like you." He wouldn't like it, at least, if he had to.

She still doesn't like the "unless have to" idea. It means he still might, if he was told to. But even little Kaylee knows when to accept something for what it is. "I like you, too!"

"Friend?" Kang asks, plopping himself down on the ground and holding the pillow they'd made together out to Kaylee.

Kaylee grins, and accepts the pillow, before sitting down with Kang and hugging the pillow close. "Friends."
