The Lantern Corps Meme

I know how much you all love my pointless introduction blather, but because I am so (sprocking) tired,  I am just going to dispense with the deats and get moving so that you can too. Srsly.

Which Lantern are you?!

Rules:
1. Thoughtfully look upon the characteristics and mannerisms of your character/s, then decide whether they are a Green, Blue, Indigo, Red, Orange, Yellow, or Black Lantern. Star Sapphires count.
2. Post your result by inserting one of the Lantern icons below into your comment with a reason as to why they are that Lantern.
3. Others comment on the first comment with suggestions, comments, hints...whatev.
*4.* Extra Credit. Name a shy character who isn't doing the meme and name his/her ring.

Brainy is easy. His ring matches.

Image

It is VERY hard to beat a Brainiac at will. That twelfth-level brain of his can be tremendously focused, through pain, through fear. That's why the Legion loves him despite his...quirks, that's why they rely on him.

When the rest of the Legion is beat to hell, when they're scared, when they're hurt, when everything is going out of control, when it's all going down the waste recycling unit there's Brainy. Good ol' reliable Brainy, stern-faced, working on the problem, trying to save them all...

And utterly fearless.

...except against the girls he likes.

Brainy's ancestor, Vril Dox II was a Yellow Lantern for two issues, then he told it 'go to hell' and it left him - still helluva threatening man even without the ring.

I guess fearlessness and stuborness runs in the family.

[identity profile] cabbage-butt.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Stubbornness is very much a Brainiac trait. XD

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Now I'm tempted to post the page of everyone asking Lyle what they should do, and his reply of "Brainy will think of something!"

[identity profile] cabbage-butt.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
XD Lol.

Lord knows that used to piss him off, though.

...I'd probs have to post the page of him almost quitting the team because they were over-reliant on him and made him do all the thinking for them.

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Brainy: the cause of (and solution to) all of our problems.

I'd probably reply with the page where he's talking about everyone trying to comfort him after his mom tried to kill him. But that would be sad.

Jay's also easy.

Image

Love for Julia, love for his family, love for his friends, and love, of course, for Sooraya.

Jay's life is guided by love. Love lost and new love found.

[identity profile] flunkingspanish.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
...Now I'm imagining how much Jay would bitch about the uniform made for him by the ring. Because considering the costumes for females, the male costume would have to be a battle-thong.

[identity profile] xrockinrobinx.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
... I want this to happen now.

"Darnit, it chafes. :\"

And he'd be bitching that he's not observing proper hijab.

Damian's been taught that fear is power. There's some will and rage in him too, but mostly he's a scary little kid.

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
But still one helluva awesome character. I hope he gets lots of hugs when his daddy comes back.

Leela is actually kinda terrifyingly ruthless. It's well-reasoned, it's for a good cause, but something like Sinestro is pulling, with the Yellow Corps making the Green Lanterns ruthless enough to survive--while she wouldn't do that to the detriment of innocents, she understands a tactic like that. On Erthe, she wasn't called the Warrior of the Wastes of Belgrath, the The All Seeing Scythe that Gleams At Your Severed Head in Blackness, for no reason.

If ever a Yellow Lantern could actually care about other people and wield the terror they cause as a weapon for good, it'd be Leela.

And yellow rings DO grab good people that are scary mofos. Peacemaker, Batman...

Sometimes good people do scary-ass things to do the right thing.

Compassion is a close second, but ultimately the Avatar is a symbol of hope. He brings hope, he hopes for the world, that people's better nature will shine through. On the ship, it's hope that keeps him going while he holds back the nightmares. Hope that the others will survive, that his efforts won't be in vain. Hope that he'll see Katara again, in person, but if he doesn't, hope that the girl he loves just gets to live and be happy because of what he's doing.

Aang hopes. Aang inspires others to hope.

And because of this, Aang can change the world.

It was a close tie between this and Love, but this won. Fate is an extremely compassionate person, especially towards children. She's the kind of person who'd want to help a person stand(which conflicts with Nanoha's belief of letting people stand on their own), and could never turn down a friend(or even a stranger) in need.

Hunter is Indigo. He's a pacifist vegetarian healer; I don't think he gets a choice in the matter. (Bless his heart, it also makes his username a total lie. xD)

Ava's was pretty easy. She's stubborn as hell, and fought shapeshifting shadow-monsters in her spare time back home because someone had to. (Even when she had to do it in her prom dress and heels.)

[identity profile] madeofwyn.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Wyn's not Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, or Violet; while she is compassionate, it's definitely not her defining characteristic.... so, via process of elimination: she's a Green Lantern.

Image

She's been holding her psyche together through sheer force of will for years. When she starts taking things seriously, it's probably a good idea to either start helping or get out of her way.

Tex has 'died' (lost her body, anyway) twice already. She thought she was a ghost up until she ended up in the ship's systems. Thus, she's kind of in Black automatically.

However, she's got a legendarily nasty temper and a talent for ripping out skulls, sticking grenades to people, and otherwise causing general mayhem. Tex earned her reputation as the mean one.
