Honors Physics Class~

Kang had been the Honors Physics teacher at the school for the past seven years, and even though students said his course was tough as hell, they also said that it was fun, so he never had a small class. While he was easy to get along with, he was also known for not taking shit, and expected everyone to do their work. He was also the head of the local medieval LARP group, and was rather proud of the fact, even if he did get the occasional ribbing about it.

"Last week, we talked about trebuchets and hwacha in detail, and I told you that I had a little surprise planned for this semester," he grinned. "The school board's given us permission to actually construct one of these, and test it out during the spring festival. I'm going to let you vote on which."

Behind the glasses, Billy's eyes very obviously light up. Wow, an opportunity to participate in construction! This was clearly the greatest class the young student would ever have the opportunity to participate in.

He looks around eagerly at the other students---come on, fellas, this is exciting! You're excited, right?

The 10-year-old prodigy who's barreling his way through sophomore year is way excited.

"What are we firing? Do we have a target?" Can it be the gym?

"You already know what a hwacha shoots," Kang pointed out, quirking one eyebrow. "If you choose the trebuchet, we'll be launching pumpkins. We might even make it a contest with two teams each building one, and seeing who can launch one the furthest."

He grabbed a marker and wrote 'trebuchet' on one side, and 'hwacha' on the other.

"Now. Arrows with explosives attached, or a contest to see who can launch a pumpkin farther?"

So does Lafiel. So much. Soooooo much. But the responsible student says: "Pumpkins are probably much safer."

"They probably are, but... I vote for the option where things explode." Wyn says with a grin. Maybe Lafiel should be the TA and Wyn should be the student for this class.

"What things?"

Billy does not approve of this blatant disregard for safety. "I'll vote for the trebuchet as well, sir."

No, Allen. Even if he is a bullying jerk.

Kang grinned, "I knew you'd say that, Wyn. And to answer your question, Billy, we'd be aiming the arrows at cardboard targets simulating an invading army, and we would have the local fire department on the scene just in case. The school board wouldn't have it any other way, and neither would I."

He didn't want any of his students to get hurt!

Two marks under trebuchet, two marks under hwacha, and he turned to face the class, "So far it's a tie. Any more votes?"

"Hwacha," the oddly gender-unspecific student votes with a huge grin.
