Stacy Kerrigan High School

To take a break from the seriousness of the nightmare king plot for a bit...

(picture stolen from [livejournal.com profile] clairbourn)

Your characters are now ordinary high school students or teachers. No powers. No nothing. If they're not humanoid, they are now. Go go go go go.

Note: This is mostly actual RPing, but feel free to note backgroudn about your character OOCly

Katara, of course, had little idea of this. she was still trying to get a grasp on both her studies and the intricacies of high school life. Still, there were people she trusted, and she liked the whole experience of learning new things.

"What do you have there?" She asked, looking at Sheeana shuffling papers.

"A first draft." She replied. "If they like this at the university, you might not see me here next year." She sighed, having gotten a little attached to the guinea pigs here. "Oh, if you're feeling bored, hang out outside the boy's locker room today after last bell. The football team's going to implode into a pit of homophobia if everything goes well..."

"Really?" That did interest her. She knew that there were a lot of really intelligent people at this school, and she'd known Sheeana enough to understand she kept her true intelligence to herself: she felt bigger than the school.

The homophobia thing, however, did not sit well with her. Even if they were boys, all she could think of was Fate and Nanoha there. "Why? What will happen? No one will be hurt, will they?"

Yes, even here, Katara's morality was always pretty clear.

Sheeana nodded with secret pride. "That entirely depends on them. I'll just be there to observe." In a different setting, without the rigid, altruistic discipline of the Bene Gesserit, Sheeana's slight tendency to megalomaniacal sociopathy was never resolved...

Katara was quiet a moment. She knew this was something Sheeana did intentionally, shaking things up she could see the results. What bothered her were the results: people could definitely get hurt, and she couldn't allow that to happen.

"In that case I'll stick around," Katara said, knowing if she couldn't overpower some testosterone driven boys, she could at least help the victimized escape. "I don't want anyone getting seriously hurt. People shouldn't be as useful as bargaining chips sometimes, Shea."

It was cute that she gave her a pet name. Much nicer than the usual 'Slut'. "Then they should act more like human beings. If they didn't bully and ostracize each other, I might consider them more than interesting experiments."

If Katara heard any such slur from anyone's mouth about Sheeana, of course, she would have verbally beaten them down. What Sheeana did was her business and no one else's. "But there are always going to be people who have to bully and hurt others to make them feel better about themselves. I care more about the people they do it too. That's never fun for anyone."

"I'm not that sloppy. This is going to be a strictly intra-jock scenario. Who knows, maybe they'll all learn a valuable lesson?" Haha. Yeah? Maybe? Oh god, don't look at her like that Katara, you know she feels like a horrible person when she gives you the mom-look.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-02-28 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Katara shook her head. "Assuming all goes well," and here, yes Sheeana, you will get a bit of a mom look. Katara is just that type of girl: hopeful, earnest and willing to help the little guy if needed. "And if it goes badly, someone needs to give an account of what happened. I won't have them trace it to you, but I won't stand by if someone gets beat up either."

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2010-02-28 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Sheeana made a little salutey kindof gesture, with mock reverance. "I promise to prevent any nerds from getting hurt in the vicinity of the football team after school today."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-02-28 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Katara stuck out her tongue. "Then I guess you'll have done your good deed for today."

Really, read between the lines. Katara looking up to Sheeana doesn't mean she likes her "experiments."

"I have your back if someone traces this to you," Katara said, trying to sound casual about it.

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2010-02-28 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Sheeana, for her part, was aware of and respected Katara's adorable little scruples. "You don't have to do that."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-02-28 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
"I know," Katara said, grinning, "But you know, as bad as you can get, you keep this place...interesting. People can sometimes only think in certain ways: sometimes its good to challenge them a little bit, see what makes them stronger. I can kinda understand that."

See, Katara could be a little more philosophical than you think, Sheeana.
