(Instrumental) Music Meme

I have a challenge for you, meatship!
Find songs for your characters, other peoples' characters, the ship, plots, pairings, groups, etc.

But the challenge? They must be instrumental. Lyrics? We don't NEED no stinking lyrics! >:D

So, go ahead and post things. (Youtube links are love if you got 'em.) Feel freeee to tl;dr as much as you like about your choices.

And if you don't have any music for yours, try posting! See if anyone else has anything that comes to mind!

[Zita dives into her music collection]

If you have anything that takes SHARING sharing, [livejournal.com profile] trans_tunes is there too. :|b

Alessa

Theme Song: Ghosts N Stuff- Deadmau5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC6utdi3jgU&feature=related)

This has always been Alessa's theme inside my head: a little creepy and a little dangerous, with the presence of a dark bass. Alessa is ALL ABUT dark bass.

A Day in the life: Working Man's theme- Nakaido "Chabo" Reichi. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNRBBzp-hmc)

Which means exactly what it says: Alessa's life as routine on the ship, and her interactions with others. All of it is relative to her growing disassociation with others.

Alessa and Shadow: Saturate- Chemical Brothers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agb-oFZjuGM)

A chink in the armor: Shadow has a way of making Alessa access a whole new range of emotions she never thought possible. That's why Saturate starts slow and builds to cymbal crescendo, Alessa's feelings all still very new and bursting within her.

Silent Hill Silent hill theme-Akira Yamaoka (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2cK8mOG4Q8)

If I didn't have this song, seriously, I need to be shot. That is all.

In My Own Creepy World Skool Daze -Chris Vrenna (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfuJPK0xEyw)

The ever present reminder of what and who Alessa is: an amalgamation of a child's fears brought to life and fighting back. This is the core of what makes Alessa exist.

Katara

Awakening on the Ship
Marooned -Pink Floyd
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI4kyaOulJ0)

The song speaks for itself. Katara is taken to a strange place with even stranger technology and has no idea how to react. It captures her first initial feeling of isolation, which passes very quickly.

Carol Davers Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness- Smashing Pumpkins (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBD1BXOxnFc)

Carol is one of the first people Katara meets that forms a lasting impression on her: she's both very sad and very good for Katara in that she fills a hole Katara never knew COULD be filled. Its a slow moving song that speaks the happy love Katara has for her ship mother, and how she also hopes better things for her.

Dreaming of Aang IN Space- Royskopp (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7Wg6hFDf6U)

In the back of Katara's mind she is always thinking of the one person she can't see on the ship, the focus of her love and affection Aang. This song is a balance of Aang's air and Katara's water at play, and how the two compliment each other.

Bending: Devil's Trill- Vanessa Mae (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQ798THmR5Y)

Katara's bending, whether used for healing or for fighting, is the core of what she is and a reminder of her people. The song is indicative of a skill that is both defensive and powerful in its own right.

Sheeana and Arha Marco Polo- Loreena Mckennett (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvPu2PGzcSg)

In Sheeana and Arha Katara sees the remnants of a Middle East she's really never seen: sensual, strong, dark and mysterious. The core
of this song, however, is the discovery of new things, and a new way for Katara to absorb. Obviously this is more on Sheeana's end, but Katara can't help putting Arha there too.

Trying Spice Surface to Air- Chemical Brothers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33WTgejzNLs)

For this particular scene, where Katara finally opens her mind to the possibility of being in a higher state of consciousness, I literally wanted the song to be that: a slow build up to the opening of her Third Eye. I wanted it to epitomize the things Katara has been trying to do all along: getting to a point where she no longer saw the universe in only a straight line but, as Bumi said, opening herself to possibilities.

Meeting the Avatar crew The Afternoon Streets- Kingdom Hearts II (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMMEauNVGr0)

A nice, wistful tune of meeting the Avatar crew minus Aang. Obviously there;s love mixed with a sadness here, but Toph, Sokka, Zuko and Mai help to show Katara's happier side.
