It's time for Kuroi to be upstaged by...

THE WATCHED MY CANON MEME

Step One: Post here with your character.
Step Two: characters will reply to threads as if they'd just witnessed (in part or in whole) the canon of the threadstarter.
Step Three: EMBARRASS THE CRAP OUT OF PEOPLE WITH YOUR NEWFOUND OMNISCIENCE!

Step Four: Profit.

Because MMPR is so easy to make fun of you guys.

...Couldn't resist.

[identity profile] mustbemade.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Why does no one ever hit their target? And why do all your opponents use explosive ammunition?
morphitudinous: (Pout)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-06-07 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
'Extraordinarily bad luck' isn't an acceptable answer, so I'd have to guess that our opponents believe they can cause more blowback damage by attacking a point just behind us and forcing us to fall forward. We're somewhat protected by our uniforms, so that may play a role as well.

Regarding the explosions, I believe it's a side effect of the magic our enemies use to create the monsters colliding with the charged energy of our powers.

That's an impressively reasonable answer.

[identity profile] mustbemade.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
How do they manage to hit a point just behind you when they are just in front of you without hitting you?

That is an extremely vague answer.
morphitudinous: (:()

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-06-07 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Some attacks can be spontaneously generated at a point without the need to travel from their originator. Others fly over our heads in an arc and land behind us.

Unfortunately, I haven't had time to examine the precise parameters. Everything involving magic is outside my realm of study as it only exists as an enemy tool in my world and I cannot perform it, but perhaps if I consulted with one of our ship's magic users I could form a more comprehensive answer.

[identity profile] mustbemade.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Why would your opponents waste power generating an attack at its destination? Would that not take much more power than propelling it normally?

What about the nature of your power?

How do your Zords always arrive so quickly when they appear to travel so slowly?
morphitudinous: (Serious)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-06-07 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Traveling attacks can be seen in advance and are easier to deflect or dodge. They believe the element of surprise benefit outweighs the cost of extra power.

The Power is...complicated. Six coins were given to our mentor Zordon thousands of years ago. A seventh fell into the hands of the evil empress attempting to conquer Earth, Rita Repulsa. He kept those coins for thousands of years until Rita arrived, and then they were entrusted to us.

Each coin is placed inside a Power Morpher, a device that focuses the coin's energy. When it's activated, it taps into an energy biofield called the Morphing Grid that opens access to our powers. Once that's established, the energy has internal and external effects on us. Internally, we receive an energy boost similar to a rush of adrenaline and extra reserves of strength. Externally, energy released takes a solid form and replaces our clothing with the uniform. It's built of nanofibers that attempt to diffuse damage taken over a large area.

We have a vast underground network of tunnels equipped with rails to move the Zords at high speed. They usually begin moving toward the battle site as soon as the battle starts, since we nearly always need to summon them at one point.

This only applies to the land-based rolling models---others can run so fast that they arrive very quickly and cover a large distance with their size, and the flying models are fast enough to make it on their own.

...I think it must be an enhanced communication function of the suit. When morphed, sometimes I don't entirely have control of my body. That's how I fought as a Ranger before receiving martial arts training---the Power manipulated my limbs into fighting at a professional level. I had some conscious control over which direction to take and what type of strategy to use, but the mechanics were controlled by an outside force.

I'm in full control now that I've learned enough about combat, but I'm still compelled to make the gestures.

My bald-headed sage is better than yours!
morphitudinous: (...what in the name of)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-06-07 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
I realize Zordon's methods are somewhat unorthodox, but what differences do you see?

[identity profile] magictrkswwater.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Mine has a body, yours don't, mine's probably a whole lot powerful if he didn't get taken out when he did...

I'll admit, though - at least Zordon didn't accidentally create a foe because he was trying to help them.
morphitudinous: (A cannon? Really?)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-06-07 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
I believe Zordon has a body somewhere. It's just trapped in another dimension and we're only able to see his head when communicating.

...Create a foe? How did he do that?

[identity profile] magictrkswwater.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, she got too attached to the source of the Guardians' powers when she was leading the team years ago. Oracle decided she should give it up and hoped that it would wean her off of it.

Long story short, she kills the next holder - her best friend - gets imprisoned, then freed to go blow stuff up.

Oh, and ends up siring a child that ends up being one of our best friends and one of my friend's boyfriends, but that's another story...

Where do you keep your Zoids Zords, and how is it they can reach you in a matter of seconds after you summon them, no matter where you are respective to their locations?
morphitudinous: (Zord cockpit :3)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-06-07 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
The Zord Bay in the lower levels of the Command Center. They're held there for maintenance and easy deployment when battles start.

We have a vast underground network of tunnels connected to the Zord Bay equipped with rails to move the Zords at high speed. They usually begin moving toward the battle site as soon as the battle starts, since we nearly always need to summon them at one point.

This only applies to the land-based rolling models---others can run so fast that they arrive very quickly and cover a large distance due to their size, and the flying models arrive quickly enough that they don't need assistance.

...How do you perform an "evil laugh"? And can these...zords...be built? ::because he so plans on building a little mini-zord to be all cute not::
morphitudinous: (Default)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-06-07 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it generally requires a desire to be evil. Whether it's genuine, acting, or forced by a spell, that maliciousness accompanied by the thrill of impending victory powers it.

Of course they can! Someone had to build them originally, and I've done major repairs on most of them. The difficult part would be acquiring materials that can withstand combat conditions.

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
I do not wish to be evil, no...

::ponders and hides badly done but attempted cute plans to construct a minizord because he worships the ground you walk on::

Why the heck don't they shoot you when you're doing all those poses or while the robots are transforming. I mean, come on. You're really, REALLY, easy targets.
morphitudinous: (:()

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-06-09 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Even easier---they knew where we were at all times and could have killed us while we were sleeping and defenseless. They did manage to trash the Zords once or twice, but our enemies lack intelligence matching their power.

Why do the suits change style from one second to the next? In one scene, they're form-fitting and slender. The next, you look like you've got five pounds of wool between you and the armor.
