What d'you say we just watch the bits where I'm brilliant and charming? Can we do that?

[identity profile] madeofwyn.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Can we just watch Blink a lot? That counts, doesn't it?

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
With my wonderful explanation of the nature of time? Of course it does!

[identity profile] forthewyn.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
... or maybe we could just say that we watched it, because I'd like to sleep this week.

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, the Weeping Angels aren't so bad. A bit inconvenient, and I suppose you'd probably have to make your way home via the slow route, but it's not as if they'd kill you...

[identity profile] wynthegame.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
They don't kill you directly, anyway. ... well, I suppose they're not quite as bad as the Vashta Nerada.

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeeaah, that... that was definitely worse. I'd rather not do that again. ...ever.

[identity profile] wynthegame.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't blame you on that one, really, because those episodes are basically "Books are trying to kill you! The dark is trying to kill you! And you're trapped in a dark library!"

That... just sounds unpleasant.

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, change a few of the words and that pretty much sums up my life. As a whole.

...it's fun, though! Lots of running and shouting and mortal terror's good for a person!

[identity profile] madeofwyn.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
For a very unusual definition of 'good', maybe. I like excitement as much as the next person, but mortal terror just doesn't sound like much fun.

Alien conspiracies seem to hide everywhere.

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Not everywhere! Mostly just London. And sometimes Cardiff.
morphitudinous: (Serious)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-06-07 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Are there objects of interest concentrated in that area?

My world was similar---there was an ongoing invasion of Earth, but the invaders only attack a specific Southern California town where their nemeses live. It's never made sense to me, but I'm not foolish enough to call them on it.

Unfortunately, the Ohm were stronger and smarter.

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-08 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, there's a rift in Cardiff... Still haven't worked out the reason they're all so interested in London, though.

...is it possible your invaders just enjoyed the challenge? Like Sontarans, but... very, very bad at it.

Watch? Doing what? ::sniffs::

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, saving people, planets, the universe. The usual.

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Can you do that? Is that a thing only grown-ups can do? ::Beware the curious::

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no! Of course not! I have a friend who saved the world the day he was born! And a daughter who did... more or less the same.

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
How did that happen? ::chirps, sniffs::

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Never actually got the story on Luke. Should've asked, but he's brilliant. Not quite as clever as me, but as close as any human I've ever met.

And Jenny...

She saved my life. Maybe you can ask her for that story - I'm sure she'd love to meet you.

... I think Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff is my most favorite saying in the world now to describe the flow of time. I need to bring that up to Professor Paradox when I see him next.

[identity profile] thatsortofaman.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. I'm rather fond of it myself.

...Professor Paradox? And here I thought titles couldn't get any worse than 'the Master'...

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the best description ever.

He's a timewalker, exists outside of time. We actually don't have a NAME for him but he just calls himself Paradox.
