Are there objects of interest concentrated in that area?

My world was similar---there was an ongoing invasion of Earth, but the invaders only attack a specific Southern California town where their nemeses live. It's never made sense to me, but I'm not foolish enough to call them on it.

Unfortunately, the Ohm were stronger and smarter.

Well, there's a rift in Cardiff... Still haven't worked out the reason they're all so interested in London, though.
