TRAPPED IN AN ELEVATOR meme!

The Trapped in an Elevator Meme

Your character steps into an elevator for... whatever reason, up to and including "meme magic, okay?". Someone steps in with him or her and the door closes. It creaks up a few floors-- and then it stops. The emergency button shocks anyone who touches it.

Well, crap.

Rules
» Make a thread with your character in the trapped elevator. (Assume someone is already in there with them.)
» Another player joins them! And now you know who you're trapped with.
» ???
» Profit! Awkwardness!

[Marcus shrugs, trying to shake out the pain in his hand. Apparently he's really good at conducting electricity...]

Dunno. Why would the elevator stop on the [checks display] eighteenth floor?

"Would you care for a hand?"

Stephen had tried the emergency button, to judge from the hand-shaking he was doing. Don't ask him why his goggles weren't working. He had no answers. It was pretty obvious from the look on the girl's face, what her plan was, though.

Other way around, I think. I used to be a stunt base, so...

[identity profile] ayasofia.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. All right. Let me know when you're ready.

[identity profile] nothawkingbird.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Kate beamed at that, "Yes I would, thank you." She stepped towards him, "Just let me know when ready."

She studied the googles briefly, "Those have a night vision feature on them?"

[Ava moves directly under the escape hatch and plants her feet, making her hands into a basket.]

Ready whenever you are.

"They did, they don't seem to be operational right now. I'm not certain why." About the only thing they were functional as were his prescription glasses.

"It wouldn't be the first time I got shock treatment." He bent down a little, lacing his fingers firmly together to make a stirrup of sorts. "All right, boosting on three." Stephen waited for her to get situated, and...

"One...two..."

[identity profile] thirdeyesighted.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
We could wait for help.

[identity profile] ayasofia.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
On three. One, two, three. [Steps up onto Ava. Tests out the ceiling panel, which is, alas, locked.] Maybe there's some way to get it open.

It stalled. That's less a mystery of an emergency button that shocks you. This is definitely not a good sign.

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
...And to make matters worse, a demon girl pops out of nowhere, trying to similarly find a way out and us unsuccessful.

"Drat," she said, then noticed the fuming man. "Any luck?"

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
[ Is not a very happy camper. She's already been shocked multiple times by the emergency button, and the obvious next step after that is taking apart the control panel, right?

Wrong. Shocked a few times over from that, and now she's mumbling something or other in Chinese while she tries to figure this gorram thing out. ]

[identity profile] nothawkingbird.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Damn, of course take away the useful devices. If GLADOS is behind this, she's getting an arrow to her circuits."

She then carefully braced herself on his shoulders, fitting her foot against his hands. And the second he says three, she was jumping up to grab the panel. Luckily she had the strength to hoist herself up.

"Shit!" He swore, he could never get used to people appearing out of nowhere. Angels or demons have no damn manners whatsoever.

"No, unless you got any bright ideas?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Alessa turned slowly toward him. "There's no need to say rude things," she said. "Demon or not, I do have the appearance of a child."

Not that she cared one way or the other about human swearing. It was just fun to point these things out.

"They would not be suggestions that would help you sleep soundly," Alessa said.

[Stuck with Kawalsy, trying frantically to open the doors via waterbending and just getting more shocked. Now her hair is frizzled and her skin is slightly bruised.]

Stupid thing...!

Of All Things, Otis Never Saw This.

::Elevator? The hell is that? He's not scared, just...puzzled. And sniffing around to try and figure out what this little tiny chamber is. Oh. Locked in?::

Keeey noh do wohrrrk?

There's no key here. Just buttons, and the one that would have summoned help is non-functional.

[Curious, he tries one of the floor buttons---again, he is shocked and yelps.]

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
::Said yelp engenders a very typical response. Scurry over. Sniff-down!::

[identity profile] kawalskyeffect.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Gently puts his hand on her shoulder.] Hey, calm down. You're just gonna hurt yourself.
morphitudinous: (I'm not certain we can)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-07-09 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Grits his teeth. It's okay, his hand's only a little singed. He's had worse.]

We can try to repair the wiring or exit through the top, but both present their own challenges. On one hand I'm probably not tall enough to get us through, and on the other I'll need to endure those shocks until I can disable them.

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Sho-ck? Eee, Rrrr-enne crrrrawwl uhp?

::Chirps. Ear-flicks. "Shock"? Cue the little wary flash on his skin there::
morphitudinous: (...what in the name of)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2010-07-09 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
You can crawl up if you'd like to---there should be a panel on the top that moves with a small push. But if I'm being electrocuted just by touching things in here, I'm worried about what you'll find.

[It's your call, bro. Have a worried look while he keeps trying to think.]

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Eeel-cute?

::Squeak. Electricity, it's another of his little-to-not-known areas. Thankfully he's a decently quick learner::

Electricity. It powered most of my former world's machines, and it's used on the ship too. It provides plenty of energy for devices like this elevator to work, but it injures most of us if we touch it without protective clothing. It's extremely painful to be shocked, and it can kill.

[With the way his hand still shudders and throbs, he knows it well.]
