Tell confessa-a-bear

Here's how we do it.

1. Make a post for each character confessing something. It could be ceiling-cat, inner angst, a secret love, or hey, maybe you just want to list all the things that the character feels are so pent up inside him just bursting to get out. Weight of the world on his shoulders?
2. People reply to those posts with reactions to the confessions. It can be "what were you smoking when you did that" or "uhwhat?" or even "nice job, buddy!"
3. Forced honesty, uh-yep.
4. Bonus! Make as many confessions as you'd like!
5. Profit!

In one land...I am deemed a murderer. A Judge and a Jury told me so. I think perhaps that is one hole in my memory I wish to remain a hole.

Has any one ever told you that judges and juries are not infallible? That they can be wrong? If not, allow me to enlighten you.

They said it was true and placed me in Port South. I have no memory of it but... How does it work?

They can be swayed by popular opinion if the evidence is not protected, or if the trial is widely publicized. Which is why trials on my world were usually blocked to the media until the verdict was reached. Also, if a jury member or a judge was revealed to have viewed media reaction to a case, they were usually replaced.

Media? Like the Dockside News? The Oracle?

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
If those are newspapers, then yes, that counts as media.

Well...I hope you get my meaning then. I'm not certain I could explain it better, though if you want me to, I'd try.

I do not understand how influences from somewhere....'outside'...could taint the decisions within a Judge or Jury. Are they not supposed to be life-forms of honour?

Judge. Jury. They're still humans. I'm sure most judges and juries at least try, but that doesn't mean they succeed.

Though knowing this, it gives me some insight on why in particular you've got a chip on your shoulder against my species.

Chip? ::sniffs::

...Trusting has always been difficult. Trusting in Humans is..that much more.

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2010-07-29 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Let's say I understand a bit more why you don't trust humans and seem to hold their own actions against them. In your eyes, they deserve it.

My mind...escaped control after a dark event I still do not understand. The dreams came and then, as the Judge said, I did things. I do not recall doing them, but they said I did. That placed me in Port South.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you ever worry that might happen again?

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes...I still have nightmares. The Ides changed too much in me.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
But you have Billy and I though.

Ides?

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
::blush::

...yes. Someone....took a thunder-maker and used it on himself. Some time before, he had left it behind but I knew what it was to him. So I kept ahold of it, then gave it back. And then he used it.

The dreams then started and control...memory...was lost.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
What does a thunder maker do, aside from creating thunder, I imagine?

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
They...::shudders:: They make holes. Like arrows. Only worse.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Like...a gun?
