The CR (Character Relationships) Meme

It's been a while since we've really done a meme with a purpose, and longer since we've done a CR meme - and now that we have a bunch of fresh new characters, time to find out what everyone thinks of you!

There's nothing fancy here - no fancy HTML - just pure bare-bones simplicity:

Billy really admires the Doctor. Both of them, but Five has impressed him with his compassion. He expected nothing less from someone close to Jamie.

And...yes, much as he hates to admit it, he needed that time off. He's secretly grateful that someone's looking out for him.

THE SMILING ICON SEES INTO YOUR SOUL.

We'll start with Miku and Steve first. *cracks knuckles*

Miku love-love-loves Steve, and that is pretty scary for her. Sure, it took her four months to figure it out and separate "sisterly" feelings from "romantic" feelings, but when she finally came to the conclusion was she ever glad that he reciprocated. She knows that their relationship isn't perfect, and that leaning on a crutch of normalcy to combat the fact she sees dead people and he could turn into a hulking green monster is probably a bit like sticking their heads in the ground and pretending it isn't there.

She's very happy that he's becoming a little more sociable and by extension is making her more sociable, too. Miku also appreciates that their relationship isn't based on skinship. She knows that this is probably difficult for him (she had a brother, and lived with a couple about to get married - she understands people have Needs), but knows even if they could be all up in each others' business, she wouldn't feel comfortable with it yet.

Miku knows that Steve doesn't tell her everything, and she's okay with that ~~because she can just touch his stuff until she finds what she needs~~ because he may tell her eventually.

For now, she wants to be his support, and even if they don't last ~*forever*~ she wants him to know how important he is to her, in her own clumsy kind of way.

Now that Dustin is no longer endangering the crew by trying to be the hero, Kang's... alright with him. He still thinks the man's a bit arrogant, though, and isn't all that happy about the forge thing with Hiccup, but that's not his business to take care of.

She's a big sister. Seriously. They need to play more :-P

:-P Imp adores Five and if he knew about Five's hair, he'd probably want to burrow and nest in it.

Aeneas? They should cook together and have another pillow fight. :-P

Hey look I'm signed into the right account now~

The Doctor thinks--knows--that Billy is an intelligent and reliable friend. As one of the heads of Engineering (and the one he's communicated the most with), Billy also has his respect for experience and consistency, and his unspoken appreciation for keeping tabs on Jamie and teaching him the things he didn't have time for when they used to travel together. Of course, as an important and trusted individual, Five worries that Billy works too hard, so he may periodically step in to see what he can do to lessen the load, as it were.

Oddly enough, Five doesn't see Billy as a companion, as he is inclined to do with other close acquaintances. Instead he considers him a coworker--which, when compared to the Doctor's own expertise, is quite the compliment on Billy's abilities.

~~A bit arrogant?~~

Likes him. Definitely. One of the few adults aboard the ship that she feels she can really talk to. She can relate with him, talk to him with ease, and doesn't really need to pretend something isn't wrong with whatever when she's with him. And it helps that talking with him makes her feel loads better.

If anything, she'll be talking to him a lot more later on.

Axl made her feel comfortable and even asked her dance that time at the club, so, big plus there! She thinks he's cute ~~she's a teenage girl and has a right to!~~ and really nice.

She'd like to talk to him more often.

Understatement. I know. :P

Jamie likes her well enough, although he's completely forgotten about the whole promise-to-go-flying thing at this point (And after the whole business with the Nightmare King and being flung into a wall, is probably less enthusiastic about flying in general).

While he wouldn't mind getting to know her better, he's under the impression that she's extremely busy with the Magical Department stuff so hasn't actively sought her out to do so.

Stephen and Billy?

Arika's just getting to know the waterbender. But she knows that Negi is connected to Katara in a somewhat familial way, so she can appreciate the child for all that Katara has done for Negi. She also seems to be quite helpful, and kind.

Dustin on Kira and Nanoha?

Oh man this is going to be so tl;dr. :(

BUT OKAY I should start here by stating what is ... somewhat obvious considering Yzak's, character; he doesn't hate Kira. He yells and carries on to his best friends constantly, so his yelling and grump at Kira isn't very different from that. But Kira's also not really a friend in that regard, either. Obviously in canon Yzak knowingly helps him out a number of times, because there were times in the fighting where they were both fighting for the same reasons. So it was "these guys helped me out, so I'll return the favor."

Yzak and Dearka are in ZAFT during Destiny, but they came to a point where it was more in ZAFT but fighting for what should really be fought for in the end. Yzak is like that dude who believes in the protagonists and their ideals, but doesn't join up with them and UP AND GIVE THE FINGER TO ZAFT AND LEAVE as much as just do what he can for them from his own position. SO IN THAT SENSE Destiny-wise, Yzak could always have been considered a sort of ally of Yamatoooooooooo!!'s.

But Kira and Yzak and super awkward because of their SEED relationship! Yzak honestly feels LESS fail knowing that Kira is a Coordinator (oh so he gave me that scar and was an actual challenge because he was one of us instead of a Natural, feels ... kind of good man), even though his issues with revenge were dropped at the end of SEED anyway, so it's not a huge thing. But! It's always strange for Yzak because that's why Athrun used to act so weird when it came to fighting him back then. Klueze rode their asses about taking down the Strike, too (and in the novels he actually goes "lol well if you guys followed orders maybe they wouldn't have gotten away again }D") which was never fun.

And then there is the big awkward of oh I killed your special little civilians/also a lot of your friends vs. Kira and oh I killed a lot of your comrades too. Topped off with the general loneliness and confusion Yzak felt toward the end of the series! Which was mainly a Dearka/Athrun/Lacus/Andy/ZAFT focused thing but the Archangel and Kira being the people they joined up with certainly made it part of the mix. So there is a tinge of jealousy there in "Coordinator, strong (thoughdamnitIwillneveraqdmitthatoutloudEVER), does things that other people leave me for to go and fight alongside him, somehow charmed LACUS (because he has a sort of crush on her), and seriously when did this guy get so cool and likable HE JUST CAME OUT OF NOWHERE :|"

So like. Athrun and Kira and Yzak and Dearka's series rivalries are one thing because they were friends/allies/etc. before the GUNDAM ANGST happened. So that made it easier for them to get past it/forgive/kiss and make up/whatever. But Yzak and Kira did not know each other before the war or were not friends or anything before that. So I think that's the main Thing for why it's a little more awkward from Yzak's end.

IT'S AWKWARD but like mentioned in this tl;dr, Yzak's views are similar to the protags and his actions help them out in a pinch. And he basically knows this and he's okay with Kira being a part of said protags. But their lack of a friendly start-out/past makes it harder for him to really want to try to ... like idk. Talk to Kira about himself or his life or his awesome mom (though he'd still do it, and if he ever did he'd totally have that gloaty tone as he does so). IT'S LIKE I SAID IN IRC THAT TIME Yzak wants Kira to know how awesome he is and when he thinks Yzak is awesome it will be very SMUG.

Where "how awesome he is" also means "know that he is not that same crazy ass shuttle-shooting racist bitchface that he used to be." Since he didn't KNOW there weren't soldiers in there and feels super lame about that and-- dammit Funk you have no idea how much this all makes me wish these two actually had CANON INTERACTION AFTER THE FIRST SERIES. I have this doujin where they meet after the first war and talk to each other about these things and it is so cool and I HATE YOU FOR THESE REASONS CANON.

SHE LIKES KOISHI. She thinks the girl is cheerful, friendly, and upbeat, which she enjoys, and there isn't the worry that she's reading into Nanoha's fondest and most intimate memories like there is with Satori. She's a bit worried that Satori is sheltering Koishi which may make some things harder on her - and concerned for the girl's mental health in general - but that doesn't mean she isn't pleasant to stay around.

So yes anyway moving on now (yes I'm still going) to T9 proper. Everything is gone! PLANT, Earth, everything Yzak's known or hated or used to hate or loves. And in his mind until a podpop proves him wrong, probably a lot of everyones, too. And now it's up to him to help Stacy and her crew to possibly restore everything. Which he's obviously VERY focused on doing, because after all he's done and fought for his home and his people, like hell he's gonna let it all be for nothing. SO even though in Destiny the situation wasn't TOO different, his goals are the same are Kira's. Just minus ZAFT/EA/TSA/his doing things in his own way/chilling near PLANT while they all do their own thing. So he's actually on the same ship, in many of the same places that Kira is! Which is very different from canon! And Yzak was okay with the other situations because he could avoid having to really interact with Kira EVEN THOUGH he doesn't really hate him but it just felt weird to. It was a more comfortable position for Yzak, helping them out but not having to really mix and mingle.

But Yzak wants more than anything to restore his home, so he's manned up and despite the awkward, is treating Kira like he would any other ally since they're aiming for the same thing. But since they're not in battle all the time, where there's not much talk and mostly just action, he actually has to talk to Kira more now. So he treats him somewhat like he treats Athrun. A rival of sorts, that he yells and >(s at a lot for ALL OF THE REASONS STARTED ABOVE, but in that way where it's obviously not ill-intended, and he will fight alongside and help and possibly save and ass-kick together with Kira. In his own loud, grumpy Yzaklike way.

These are still ttly our future dogtags.

Overall positive! Like I said to Leon, Nanoha really would like to get to know Leon's family better; all she really knows Claire is from a few interactions over the omnicomms and then during shore leave. But she empathizes with Claire as a parent and finds her very pleasant to spend time with, even if it's her partner Fate who relates more as the "nice" parent rather than the stern one.
