that time of the...uh...again

We've got some new meat this podpop, so let's roll on with the IC truth meme!

Premise: There's something happening to you...you feel strange...like you wore the wrong socks, or you accidentally ate that week old egg salad sanwich in the back of the fridge. Whatever you feel, it makes you suddenly want to be...truthful. More than that: you feel like there's something inside of you just bursting to get out!

It's!

...the truth.

Rules:
1. ICly reply to this post with your characters blurting something truthful out. It can be a deep dark secret they've been harboring, or that crush they have on that one crew member, or anything else. As long as it's the truth, it can be said.
2. Make as many truths as you want. Or..just make one really long list of truths. Whatever makes you feel comfortable.
3. Reply to other people's truths with your characters' reactions. Anything goes. pie throwing?
4. To help people scavenge through the truths, maybe put your characters' names in the subject box. optional.

When I was a few years younger, and my dad was away at sea, I used to cook myself dinner and pretend I was married and play house. By myself.

[is laughing]

I bet you had an apron too!

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well...[shrugs] At least you had a good childhood, it seems.

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
[just shrugs]

I survived it. I guess that counts as good.

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Childhoods sucking is a near-universal thing, I gather.

[At this point, she'd change the subject, but since it's the truth...]

For the youth of the 31st century, it was.

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
...I find it highly disappointing that people haven't fixed all the sucking after that many years from my time.

this sounds like some bad sci-fi movie

Well...they tried. Tried being the keyword. And then it snowballed out of control. In turn, with the advancements and the rise in production, and the peaceful and calm utopia...came a hellish security that bound youths to their governments parents.

Nuerally.

Can you translate for the futuristically-impaired?

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
[you just get this look.]

As society grew, so did security...and in turn, so did fear for the next generation. The adults decided to put their children on leashes so that they could control their lives and the cruk excuse to "protect" them.

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Like they actually leashed their children? That's messed up.

Why am I not surprised?

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Becaaaaause I'm me?

You can go right ahead and laugh at my expense now. I know you want to. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to.

...

[just turns bright red. Truth meme means he can't say anything but the truth, so...he's just not going to say anything]

[identity profile] astridhofferson.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Oblivious blinking here.]

W-Was it something I said?

[identity profile] astridhofferson.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Image (http://photobucket.com)

Then why can't you answer?

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Image

Because I can't lie and silence isn't lying, but it's also not telling the truth.

[identity profile] astridhofferson.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Why should it matter?! It's just a nam--

[PING.]

....

...Oh whoa. Waaaaaaaaait.

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 07:08 am (UTC)(link)

What? What--I--what? Whatever you're thinking, it's probably wrong.

So it's safe to say Ruffnut is the wrong answer? But, that can't be it. Surely you just made one up [Tease, tease.]

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2010-10-04 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
I was little, okay? And I just...you know, I was make believing I was a grown up and I figured when I grew up I'd marry a girl in the village, 'cause that's what people did. It's not like there are many other girls the same age in the village. You were my friend and you were the prettiest, so I just kind of rolled with that.

It didn't really mean anything.

And and I knew you wouldn't play house with me, because that was when you started not wanting to play as much with me anymore, and I knew would probably laugh your head off if I even asked. It was less I was pretending we were grown ups and more I was pretending you were still my friend and there playing with me.

I was a freaky little weird kid that pretended people liked me when I was alone. It's pathetic, I know.
