☀THE WARM AND TOASTY MEME☀
The situation: It is dreadfully cold. Think 'ice cave where all those slash fics are set'.
The goal: Keep each other warm tonight!

☀ STEP ONE: Comment with your characters. One comment for each character.
☀ STEP TWO: Other people reply to your characters.
☀ STEP THREE: Both participants are aware that they should/must keep nice and warm. To do that, you need to bundle up nice and closely, however grudgingly. No, killing your threadmate and cuddling the body doesn't count.
☀ STEP FOUR: Keep 'em warm! Hot cocoa, hot coffee, hot tea, hot mustard, or other suitably warming beverages will be provided if you cooperate.
☀ STEP FIVE: Lulz ensue!

((Basically just a winter-themed cuddle meme, with evil ideas from Shae and Col. Add some cuddle urges in the air if your characters won't otherwise cooperate but you want them to.))

"The area is a lot like where I'm from," she explained, chuckling a little at the floating burrito. Starfire had this tendency to be very adorable.

"Are you feeling better?"

"I am," Starfire answered, curling up inside the shelter. It would take a few minutes to reach her normal warmth, but she felt much better.

"Thank you for your generosity. It means much."

She smiled, and as a gesture of good faith, handed her a steaming mug of hot cocoa. "It should help to warm you up a little faster."

She gave an involuntary shiver. "Um, actually, I think I'll curl up next to you a little. I'm starting to feel a little cold myself."

[ She's frowning away and looking at the materials around them. This would be so much better if she could actually make something. ]

Look just. Keep close 'til we figure somethin'.

"I thank you." Starfire sipped once, set the mug aside, then nodded and opened the blanket and her arms.

"Here. I cannot allow my rescuer to freeze."

Oh Billy, you really should realize by now that she wasn't going to freak out about something like this. At his last sentence, she raised her eyebrows.

"Are you kidding? I'm more comfortable with you than I am with anyone, Billy. You're my Bonded."

Heck, they'd SLEPT in the same space. She wouldn't have done that with anyone but Billy...and Negi, of course.

That answer satisfied Billy. He lifted an arm and cautiously wrapped it around her.

"I'm not making you too cold, am I? That would make this whole exercise rather pointless."

She grinned and took a mug herself, taking a long sip of the drink. With that she bundled up next to Starfire, glad for the body heat, and giggled.

"Almost like a slumber party in my world," she laughed.

Oh, slumber parties! "I have never attended a slumber party, but I know of them. Attendees play with each others' hair, use the make-up, and tell stories, correct? I wished to try it, but my only female friend was...disinterested."

That was definitely understating Raven's averse reaction, but Starfire didn't mind. She was content to snuggle up right her.

Even if he was, Katara would never have admitted it to him. Billy was nice, but he was very cautious, in some ways, a lot like Renne: he expected someone to automatically bristle at his touch.

"Just come here next to me, will you Billy? You question things to much, and ME of all people. Honestly."

She grinned at him.

"Yes ma'am," Billy breathed, huddling close to her in an awful hurry. Not too fast as to knock limbs, but hopefully enough to satisfy her while he adjusted to the closeness. She was right about one thing: it was wonderfully warm, and he could feel the cold tension unknotting.

"I'll stop questioning you tonight, Katara. Promise. I've seen the error of my ways."

"Disinterested?" Katara actually looked offended at the idea. "How?! I mean, its one of the best times to bind, share stories, talk about boys...and yeah, I'll totally do your hair if you do mine!"

She grinned and hugged Starfire impulsively. She was really going to have to talk to Nura when she had the chance, now that she thought about it. She hoped she was still doing well.

"So who is this other female friend of yours?"

"My friend is not fond of emotional occurrences. She prefers to remain alone."

Starfire smiled, hugging the other girl. It felt good to know someone who would participate in her whimsies. "Her name is Raven, and she is my teammate. Using her powers responsibly requires that she keep her emotions tightly controlled, so she often withdraws from us and meditates. The party was not her 'thing', but I would do your hair!"

She grinned. "Good. I know that you have trouble doing something like this with people. I understand that. But you really should know by now that I'm not going to do anything to make you feel uncomfortable, ok?"

She smiled, and hugged him. "Feeling better?"

It really wasn't so bad. It was easier with Renne, who was so different that he knew no one would judge, but even a human girl was his Bonded just the same.

Billy relaxed into her arms, feeling warmed. "Much better, actually. It won't be long now until my temperature reaches its normal level. Thanks...for this."

He gently rubbed Katara's back for warmth, making sure he wasn't leaving any cold spots.

Katara shook her head. "I had someone that was from my world who was like that. I really wished I'd been able to reach her, befriend her more, but she was who she was. Besides, they'll come to care about us, in their own way, I think."

She nodded. "There was a friend named Toph who wasn't quite like that, but she and I couldn't have been more different, you know? She was tough, loud and brash, and I was a little more quite, more responsible than I needed, and a bit nagging. But eventually we were able to be good friends!"

She grinned. "I'd love to do yours too! Its so long and red! It's beautiful!"

Starfire couldn't help but agree. "I know that we all care, despite our differences."

She giggled, reaching up to play with one of her hair strands. "How do you arrange yours?"

If Katara had known that, it would have been easier to understand his reluctance. For now though, she went for the easiest way: she projected into Billy a calm, flowing river that was flowing, flowing, until it came to a break and it stretched out into a vast ocean where it stretched on for miles, housing a variety of sea creatures.

You're like that for me Billy, she told him, and relaxed into the rubbing. So thank you too, for helping me whenever I needed it.

[He nods slowly, leaning into her even more. Unlike humans, he didn't shiver, though he could feel her doing it. A blanket blinked into existence, a few feet away from them.]

If you can find some sticks, I can light them.

[Billy is working on the same device, and he's not faring well against the cold either. In his stumbling he discovers a blanket. That should help her shivering---he scrambles to get it and wrap it over her shoulders.]

It's a low-tech solution, but it should keep you warm enough until we can rig something else.

[Regard for his own cold-feeling? Nope.]

[Jamie is blowing on his own fingers in an attempt to warm them up so he can help.] Look, give me your hands for a moment, Kaylee? You'll not be able to finish if ye can't move your fingers.

[He is also shivering, but being an idiot man Jamie, he's trying not to let that show.]

Billy smiled at the image, projecting that his image of her was remarkably similar---a water arc over their heads. Beautiful, simple, yet doing the improbable.

I should be thanking you, but it's not a problem. I'm happy to. Katara was all that mattered right now, and he quite happily relaxed once he was sure that he wasn't making her cold.

"Our differences are what makes us great!" She said. "It's one of the best things about the ship, I think!"

She was happy at the mention of her hair, although she burrowed closer to the taller Tameranian. "I usually do them in hair loopies, like these, see? It's a style of the waterbenders."

That they agreed on. "There is so much to learn here."

Starfire happily provided more warmth, still lost in thought. "I see! Do the other benders also have styles?"
