You knew this was coming
The Situation:
Crew members who were on Stacy last December remember this. Because GLaDOS is a troll, she has positioned little sprigs of mistletoe on the ceilings of areas of the ship. In hallways, at the entrances to quarters, in a department doorway, at a tavern, she doesn't care how inconvenient it is!
It'd be less inconvenient if it were voluntary, but in this case, the sneaky AI has deployed shields around people who wander under the mistletoe that have not been broken by any known alternate method so far. Any attacks against the shield are absorbed. Attempts at attacking the mistletoe get you singed. The only way to be freed from the confines of your little bubble is to receive some form of affection from another crew member---a strong hug will work for the really uncomfortable, but at least a cheek kiss is expected for most. If GLaDOS wants a mouth kiss, though, let her push for one! Species equivalents of kisses/affection are also acceptable.
So---you're stuck until someone comes to rescue you with a kiss, kids. Have fun, thank you for participating in this crew study experiment, and watch out for the nargles!
((Characters not in the game are of course welcome to join too! It's just on this community this year because it's proven difficult to fit the event around December's plots.))

Actually, not really. Things were always crazy.
"Nice to meet you Cagalli! While we're stuck, um, what do you do in your world?"
no subject
Well, whatever. More pleasant questions are being asked. "I'm the Chief Representative - that is, the head of state - of Orb Union, a small island nation."
no subject
"A nation island?! Amazing!" She grinned. "What do you do? Just delegate, or do you actually get involved with the people?"
She did remember what she did last Christmas.
no subject
"Well it's... there's not always a chance to get involved with the people even when I want to," she begins. "For a small nation, Orb has a very strong political structure, which is part of what makes it so stable. On the other hand, it... does mean I have to work with a lot of other politicians more often than anything."
no subject
"And is that ok? I mean, I don't know what you have to deal with, but is it okay just talking with other politicians? I mean, I guess that would be all right so long as they keep other people;s well being at heart. It must be a very important job."
She decided to burden Cagalli with details later, she was curious.
no subject
"My job is very important, and it's not easy. It has to be done though, and I wouldn't give it up."
no subject
She smiled. "I hope this place treats you well. Um, but I think if you want to get out, we have to do something."
no subject
She clears her throat nervously at Katara's reminder. "I'm... sure someone could help us if we just wait, right?"
no subject
She didn't say she did: not after all she'd seen.
Here though, she took a slight offense. "What someone? Who? You don't know anyone here! Who would you wait for?"
no subject
no subject
She actually didn't, although she was slightly offended at waiting for someone else to get them out.

Which would have made sense if Katara hadn't taken Cagalli and kissed her full on the lips, just to make sure GLADOS let them out.
no subject
She was going to add to her apology when suddenly there were lips pressed against hers. Katara's lips. Someone she'd only just met, which was enough on its own to stun her motionless, never mind being her first time kissing another girl. If it counted as kissing her, given Cagalli's utter lack of immediate reaction.
no subject
"There, you're free now," she said, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "You should be all right now, you don;t have to wait for anyone, right?"
That LOOK Katara. What are you thinking?
That DID solve the problem though, right? She turned around, and reached out to where the barrier had been and... it was gone. Good. A smile crossed her lips as she turned back around. "I... er, thanks, Katara. Even if it was to free you too, thanks. We would've been stuck for a while if you'd just let me stand around blushing..."
To mess with you, what else!
"I had this happen last year," Katara said. "It was pretty annoying. I figure this would happen. But i;d still like to know more about what you've done. Is that ok?"
You tease.
"If you're really that interested, sure. Maybe I'll even talk about the interesting stuff instead of politics," she said with a light laugh.
naturally;)
"Let me know when you're around," she said, smiling. "I'll find you!"
