•Mistletoe Meme!•

The Situation:
Crew members who were on Stacy last December remember this. Because GLaDOS is a troll, she has positioned little sprigs of mistletoe on the ceilings of areas of the ship. In hallways, at the entrances to quarters, in a department doorway, at a tavern, she doesn't care how inconvenient it is!

It'd be less inconvenient if it were voluntary, but in this case, the sneaky AI has deployed shields around people who wander under the mistletoe that have not been broken by any known alternate method so far. Any attacks against the shield are absorbed. Attempts at attacking the mistletoe get you singed. The only way to be freed from the confines of your little bubble is to receive some form of affection from another crew member---a strong hug will work for the really uncomfortable, but at least a cheek kiss is expected for most. If GLaDOS wants a mouth kiss, though, let her push for one! Species equivalents of kisses/affection are also acceptable.

So---you're stuck until someone comes to rescue you with a kiss, kids. Have fun, thank you for participating in this crew study experiment, and watch out for the nargles!

((Characters not in the game are of course welcome to join too! It's just on this community this year because it's proven difficult to fit the event around December's plots.))

[He made a small grunt of agreement and leaned against the shield. And waited. And stared at her while he waited. Silently. With that same blank expression that gave nothing away yet still seemed to be waiting on you to explain yourself in full. Think you can stand putting up with that until help arrives?]

[Even if she does TRY to match it with her own glare, her focus is wavering a bit. God, he was so unnerving to be around. What was his problem anyways? Is he just a smug asshole or what?

No matter how bad it gets though she'll kill him before she kisses him. Probably.]

[His stare doesn't change. At all. Did he even blink? It's hard to tell. But its almost as if he will stare you down until he can finally see right through you.]

Stare at something else dammit!

[He didn't react, his expression unchanging. Though, internally, he did wonder what was so upsetting to her. Its not like he could see her bare soul. Oh, wait...]

[Souls or not, staring is just plain rude. Cagalli huffs and stares off to the side at a... a wall or something.]

Are religious holiday traditions usually enforced in such a manner?

[Yes, he can stare and talk at the same time.]

[Ah, the sentinel speaks.]

You expect anything here to be 'usual'?

Yes.

[No, he's not going to expand on that. That would require him to display social skills that he does not have.]

[She sighs and shakes her head. What a piece of work.]

Well I know for a fact that forcefields aren't a part of Christmas.

Mistletoe is.

[He has come to the rather unfortunate conclusion that they're going to have to do this, aren't they?]

So?

[Yeah, maybe if they start to die of dehydration.]

Be still, and remain calm.

[And pucker up, woman.]

...what are you talking about?

[He can't be. He won't... that's not...]

[He's done more disgusting things, and it will get them out of there. So without another word, and a determined expression on his face, he closed the small distance between them, leaned in, and pressed his lips against hers.]

[Thankfully, it didn't last long, and there was no tongue. Once he pulled away, he went to test for the forcefield and... mission accomplished.]

We can leave.

[And he was not looking at her when he talked.]

[Give her about... twenty more seconds of standing there blankly...]

What the HELL was that?!

[There we go!]

A kiss.

[And exactly how he felt about that was unclear, but it was what it was. But he still felt obligated to stand there for a bit longer, in the event she wanted to punch him.]

[Wow, how perceptive. Because that's exactly what she does! It's not as bad as Lockon, but she's smaller and not quite as angry as he was.]

[Well, he figured he would allow her that much in return, and doesn't bother to retaliate, or really respond at all after being hit.]

You could've given me a proper warning, asshole!

[She's holding back on punching him any more. She doesn't need to start trouble.]

[He'd argue that he did give her a proper warning, but that would require communicating verbally, which he wasn't in the mood to do. (Nor was he terribly good at it, but that was besides the point.) So he just looked at her, but instead of the blank stare, he almost looked like he felt bad for her, despite the fact that he was the one who got punched.]

[Cagalli paused her rant to catch her breath for a moment.]

And you really oughta actually try talking once in a while instead of just staring at people!
