•Mistletoe Meme!•

The Situation:
Crew members who were on Stacy last December remember this. Because GLaDOS is a troll, she has positioned little sprigs of mistletoe on the ceilings of areas of the ship. In hallways, at the entrances to quarters, in a department doorway, at a tavern, she doesn't care how inconvenient it is!

It'd be less inconvenient if it were voluntary, but in this case, the sneaky AI has deployed shields around people who wander under the mistletoe that have not been broken by any known alternate method so far. Any attacks against the shield are absorbed. Attempts at attacking the mistletoe get you singed. The only way to be freed from the confines of your little bubble is to receive some form of affection from another crew member---a strong hug will work for the really uncomfortable, but at least a cheek kiss is expected for most. If GLaDOS wants a mouth kiss, though, let her push for one! Species equivalents of kisses/affection are also acceptable.

So---you're stuck until someone comes to rescue you with a kiss, kids. Have fun, thank you for participating in this crew study experiment, and watch out for the nargles!

((Characters not in the game are of course welcome to join too! It's just on this community this year because it's proven difficult to fit the event around December's plots.))

[ That's totally agreement, and not at all teasing in any way. Honest. ]

Interestin'...how, exactly?

Aye, well, there's nothing stopping her from making the forcefield smaller, is there? Then we'd be stuck in some tiny wee space and not even be able to move at all.

She do that to ya last year, then?

[ Still, she'll be nice and slide a little closer to him, just in case. ]

Well... [He glances up at the mistletoe, and shifts just a tiny bit closer as well. Just in case GLaDOS is getting ideas, of course.]

No, but I'd not put it past her to try.

There're a lot of things I wouldn't put past her.

[ And while Jamie is distracted looking at the mistletoe, Kaylee leans over to plant one on him. ]

Mmp! [While he knew there would be a kiss, eventually, he had been planning on being sneaky and doing...well, what Kaylee just did. However, his startlement doesn't more than a few seconds before he winds up following her lead and returning the gesture. He can always blame that on GLaDOS, too, if he needs to.]

[ Sorry, Jamie, but it seems Kaylee just gets to tick another one off on the More Sneaky Than Jamie board. Not that he doesn't surprise her when he actually returns the kiss before she has time to pull back, but she won't tell him that. More points for her. ]

[Kaylee may have all the points she wishes, as she has clearly won this round. When she pulls back, though, Jamie does so as well, bobbing up on his toes slightly and tucking his thumbs behind his sporran before settling back down.]

Aye, well. That should just about do it, I think.

[ Kaylee laughs and reaches out to test the barrier. It's gone. ]

Seems it did the job just shiny.

[Jamie's not at all surprised, mostly because that's just about what was needed when he was stuck in it earlier. He steps out of the area...just in case.]

We should think about leaving, though. I'd not care to find out if she's going to change her mind about letting us free, aye?

Already paid the toll, don't see why she'd throw the barrier back up if we already met the requirements.

[ Still, she steps out of the mistletoe's range as well. No use in tempting fate. ]

Ye would think so. But she trapped people more than once the last time, and I'd not be surprised if it happened again.

[Not him personally, but he was very careful to keep an eye out after the first time.]

Better to be safe than sorry, if ye ask me. Can I walk ye anywhere?

More'n once seems a bit ridiculous. Dìyù, one time seems ridiculous. [ Nevermind that she's got mistletoe hanging up in the tavern. ]

Don't be turnin' into a gentleman on me, now, I don't know what I'd do with myself. But if you wanna walk with me, I gotta do some work down in the city...

Aye, well...it's not so bad if ye can find someone to help out.

[He gives her a wry grin, then nods. He'll walk with her down to the city, keeping an eye out for more mistletoe as he does. Wouldn't want Kaylee trapped on her way there, after all...]
