[Now that the entrance fee is over and done with, Jamie is free to get a drink and mingle. Mind you, it's less mingle-y and more stand-off-to-the side and greet people as they walk by.]

No, we don't, but this is kind of fun.

It's not so bad, I'll admit. Although I've not heard of having to kiss someone just to get in before. That part was a wee bit odd.

That was odd, and especially who. Once he gets a few drinks in him, he probably won't mind quite as much.

Aye, I would hope so, or he's going to have a long night ahead of him.

[HEY JAMIE HAVE A...manly hug. What? Billy's been through a lot and missed you.]

You're alive. At least something's worked out well.

[Jamie the human cling wrap will be happy to give you a manly hug back. And maybe indulge in some happy clutching, too.]

Billy! Aye, I am. Although you can't get rid of a McCrimmon as easily as all that. It's good to see ye, though.

[It's all good, Billy likes the contact. PROOF THAT HE'S THERE AND NOT DEAD OR FORGOTTEN. He shakes his head, looking tired.]

I was fairly sure you'd return but Stacy never tells us how long the deployments will be. After everything...I worried that you wouldn't come back either.

You'd better stay on-board for a while.

I'll not be volunteering to go anywhere anytime soon after this. [Trust him, this one was strange enough to last for awhile.] Hopefully Stacy'll not decide otherwise.

[He peers at Billy, noticing the tiredness, and assumes something went wrong. It always does, it seems.] What happened while I was gone, then?

I hope not. I'm hearing bits and pieces about the mission, and...I'm sorry. I don't know what I'd do if we lost you all permanently. But you were strong enough to make it, I knew you'd be.

[A darkness falls over his eyes.] Renne was repodded immediately after you left. I've mostly adjusted by now, but it's been rough.

[It was rather closer than he'd like, and he'll not be playing the bagpipes anytime soon, but he nods.] Stacy would have figured out something was wrong eventually and found a way to have the rest of ye come for us.

[At his friend's admission, he looks quite surprised, then reaches a hand out to grip Billy's shoulder, offering comfort.] I'm sorry, Billy.

[Jamie arches his eyebrows briefly as Kaylee talks on and on and on. Still, he's remarkably patient while he does, because, well, he really doesn't mind with her. He takes a sip or three or four from his drink while he waits, nodding occasionally.]

[There's a surprise!Doctor standing right next to him. He offers Jamie a probably-too-big-for-the-plate slice of pie]

Aye, well, as long as something doesn't go wrong... [This is said with the air of someone who completely expects that to happen. Mind you, he still takes the pie.]

You did. Went through some changes, had plenty of bad hair cuts. Went to Halgon, terrible idea. Don't go there, especially if a Gringle tells you it's a great tourist destination.

[He waits to see if Jamie puts it together, smiling at him fondly]

[He's not about to turn down offered food, and is just about to enthusiastically tuck in when the man responds. This winds up with him holding a fork over the plate and looking somewhat confused.] Hey?

[Give him a few seconds, though. Once the words sink in, he flicks a glance down to the bow-tie, then up to the face in front of him. His eyes widen as the pieces snap into place.] Doctor?

[He doesn't bother to elaborate what "it" is]

Doctor!! [Jamie goes to enthusiastically hug the Time Lord, and only at the last minute realizes that's probably not a good idea with the pie in hand, so he sets it down and settles for a good clutching at his sleeve instead.]

You're awake again! [Oh, right, there was a question there, too, wasn't there?] At least you've got the bow-tie this time around.

[Jamie approves.]
