The Morning After Meme!

1. Your character wakes up in a bed that isn't their own. Or maybe it is.
2. That person in the bed next to them though? They definitely aren't supposed to be there.
3. Soooo... what happened? What clothes are still on, if there is anything? And most importantly, what happens next?

[They seem to end up in this situation a lot!]

[But where a normal person might put a comforting arm over someone in their sleep, snoring Zetta simply flips open, dropping a kind-of-heavy cover onto Katara]

Katara winced in her sleep, moving her arm in a way to push the object off her and succeeds, momentarily, to getting the cover off her arm.

"wh-what the hell?" the book muttered sleepily as someone manhandled it.

Manhandled? Katara is so lucky she didn't hear that, and goes right along sleeping, her hands curling around the book.

"Lower," the book said, sleepily.

Katara muttered in her sleep, her hand curling around the book.

Was that a voice just now?

"Mmm. Little to the left."

Yes it was. A sleepy, pleased voice.

And now Katara is slowly feeling creeped out, and her eye lids flutter open.

"What?"

"Little to the left?" The book, still sleepy, now sounds a bit puzzled. That hadn't been a very sexy 'what?'.

Katara opened her eyes now, and looked over at who was in her bed.

"Overlord Zetta? What are you doing in my-" And she looked down. She was only in her white coverings. "H-hey! What's going on?!"

Zetta at last bowed to the inevitable and opened his eyes.

"Oh. Hey, Katara."

"Don't you 'hey Katara' me! What are you doing here in bed, and where are my clothes? I'm not...decent!"

And she kicked the book off the bed.

"Hey!" The book hit the floor with a thump, upside down and unsteadily balanced at best. "What's the deal?!"

Katara brought him up of course: she wasn't heartless. But she WAS angry.

"What were you doing in my bed, and what was with that 'lower' stuff?! How did you get here?"

"Hey, I thought you were doing something sexy!" Zetta clearly had no intention of pretending anything other than exactly what had happened, had happened. "I didn't know it was YOU. Haven't a damn clue how I got here."

He huffed a moment, then rolled his eyes. "And don't pretend you're indecent. I've seen more skin on a roasted chicken."

Wow, that was so NOT reassuring. In fact, for someone like Katara, it was downright insulting.

"What do you mean ME?! And how wouldn't you know how you got here?"

And wow, that was just earned you a Katara throwing you across the room. "Well good for a roasted chicken! Can a chicken do that?!"

The Overlord let out a yelp that ended when it bounced off the wall, and landed -- once again, upside-down -- on the floor, tipped up against the wall.

"I mean I don't know! You tell me how I got here! Maybe you picked me up while sleepwalking or something! Besides, when the hell did you start being irritated that you're not a sex object?!"

"I'm not throwing you because of that!" Katara said sharply. "I'm throwing you because you compared me to a piece of chicken! And just so you know, I don't sleepwalk!"

"Oh. Well, I was just saying, don't freak out. By Netherworld standards, you're dressed for winter weather!"

Considering what she'd seen of his minions, that's honestly probably true.

"I'm not freaking out...well, not anymore anyway. It was just startling. If its not a girl, I'd be freaking out anyway, especially if the first thing I hear when I start to wake up is 'lower, lower!'"

That was just SO not what she wanted to hear or even think about.

"Hey, like I said, if I'd known it was you I wouldn't have even thought anything like that!"

"Well good," Katara said, crossing her arms. "Because I remember you saying some pretty suggestive stuff when you were drunk the last time. I figure being an Overlord and a book doesn't mean you don't have, uh, urges."

"Can't DO anything about them, though," the book grumbled. Not that there was a damn person on the ship to do anything with even if he COULD. "But no offense, but I prefer to hit on people who can say the word 'sex' without turning red."

Unless he's drunk.

"I know that," Katara replied, trying to be sensitive about this even if it was the Overlord. "And hey, I'm only fifteen. I shouldn't be thinking about stuff like that anyway! These are the years where teenage hormones rage out of control!"

Or so she'd understood from what she's read in the media library, not to mention her own urges.

"You're about as raging as a sedated monk," Zetta scoffed. "But you've exceeded my expectations. You didn't turn red when I said 'sex.' There may be hope for you yet."

In an aside, he added, "...may be hope for MATT yet."
