[ Oh, yay! Medicinal wonders = love! ]

Oh, thank you, Billy.

[ She takes the handkerchief, blowing her nose in it. ]

Any time.

[He sets about making sure she's comfortable, then produces his other items.]

I have medicine and hot soup. Are you interested?

I am.

[ Hoshi pants a little bit, but keeps the blankets around her to keep her warm. ]

[Perfect. He settles on the bed beside her, brings out the soup, and carefully brings it to her hands.]

Can you take the bowl? I thought we could feed you so that the medicine doesn't act on an empty stomach.

[ Hoshi's able to grip on to the bowl and keep it steady. That's a good sign. ]

Yeah, I am, and that's a very good idea.

That's good. Let me know if there's anything else you need.

[He offered her the spoon and then sat back, watching her curiously. She looked like she handled illness well.]

I will. You know, it's not like-- [ She pauses to cough while simply shaking her head. ] It's not like me to get this sick. Usually, I have a pretty strong immune system.

[ She tries to get the soup down, her hands shaking somewhat, but she gets the spoon and the soup in her mouth. ]

[He pats her knee after the coughing fit, trying to calm her.] We've probably been exposed to diseases so dissimilar from our previous experiences that past immunity is ineffective.

Has there been any leeway in creating vaccines and administering them? [ She stops eating after a bit to rest her head on the couch she's been laying down on. ]

[Sigh.] We're developing vaccines as soon as we're aware of new diseases, but it's impossible to completely prevent them.

[He wipes her face with a cool cloth while she lies down, quickly pulling back so she can eat again.]

So, we pretty much have to tough it out and let whatever illnesses run their course through our bodies?

[ Hoshi has survived much worse than this, but with how torn down her body is, she tries to make herself finish the bowl of soup he gave her. ]

I wish it wasn't so. I'm sure it'll be my turn to feel ill soon.

[He stayed close while she finished the soup in the event that she needed something, then gathered the pills and water.]

I have the medicine when you're ready. Don't worry about finishing everything.

Well, I'll try my best to take care of you. That's what friends do.

[ She puts the bowl of soup down before wheezing slightly. ]

Okay, let's give me that medicine. Maybe they'll kick in soon.

I'm sure you will.

[He moves the bowl aside and then places pill and glass in her hands.]

These should help you get some sleep.

If I... y'know, feel worse, do you mind keeping watch over me?

[ She looks at the pill before she swallows it, drinking the water down with it. ]

[He squeezes her shoulder, wiping at her face again.]

Not at all. I'll be here if you need someone to grab something.

Thank you. Once I'm one-hundred percent, I'll do what I can to pay you back.

[ When she gets the medicine down, she can't help but to relax her head against his chest. ]

[What is with women and using his chest for a pillow? Billy pats her hair comfortingly, giving all the time she needs to recover and get ready for sleep.]

Focus on getting well, all right?

[ Because laying on a normal pillow is boring. ...but not really. ]

I will.

[ Soon, she feels sleep tugging at her, deciding to go to sleep to try to get the sickness out of her. ]

Good.

[And he decides to stay there for a while, pulling a blanket up over them to keep her comfortable.]
