[ Kaylee doesn't care that he's cranky. Doing nothing isn't going to help make him feel better.

He's definitely got a fever, judging by how quickly her hand pulls back from his forehead. She tries not to look too worried as the thermometer goes in. ]

You eaten anythin'?

[He pulls the thermometer out of his mouth, because clearly she didn't understand the 'take it out NOW' that he just said a second ago.]

[ Kaylee is obviously not pleased. Don't have to be such a two-year-old, Jamie. ]

What kinda 'not hungry'?

[Well, how would you feel if you were trying to rest and were rudely dragged out to have some thermometer-thing shoved at you?]

Just don't feel much like eating right now.

[Not nauseous, it seems. Jamie realizes, though, it's probably better to not push Kaylee too far at the moment, and he reluctantly puts the thermometer back in his mouth.]

[ Probably not good, but she's pretty sure he'll feel worse later if she doesn't bug him now. ]

Alright...if that changes, you let me know.

[ She smiles a little--good man, Jamie, putting that thermometer back--and slides him a tylenol and glass of water for when he's ready. ]

[Jamie nods, but doesn't say anything so he can get the temperature-taking overwith. Finally, though, he takes it out of his mouth, and hands it back over. It pretty much confirms what she thought, and he takes the Tylenol and water without question. Well, mostly.]

[ She hadn't thought it would say much different. Instead of saying so, she just sighs and waits for Jamie to drink a little more of the water. ]

Be satisfied when that fever's gone. Lay back down, I'll get you some more water...

I've not seen the Phantom Piper yet, ye know.

[Therefore, he'll be perfectly fine. After this next round of coughing, that is. Once it's passed, however, he obligingly finishes the rest of the water and settles back down.]

[ Better, this cooperation. The coughing makes her frown even more, but she patiently waits until he's finished before handing over the water and resisting the urge to tuck him back in. ]
