[ Then, let her be a big sister! She loves taking care of other people. ]

All right. Do you want me to hold it for you?

[He looks down at his hands and notes their lack of the usual strength.]

Please? I'd really appreciate it.

[Holds out a hand for the spoon]

Of course.

[ Hoshi places the bowl in her hands and holds it for him. The spoon's right in front of him to easily take it. ]

[Billy leans over enough to take the spoon and start eating. Very slowly and carefully.]

Thanks Hoshi...tell me when you need to put it down, all right?

[Bite, bite. Very slow. Halfway done by now and he hasn't spilled yet.]

You're welcome, and it's not burning me at all. That's one of the pros to wearing fingerless gloves.

[ She notes his progress, smiling in support of him managing to do this. She's glad he's okay enough to eat things. ]

[Billy finishes as much as he can stand. It's a little messy at the end, spilling drops here and there, but he's done. The items are passed back.]

[ This time, Hoshi has a dish rag to clean up the drops before placing it on her thigh. She then puts the bowl down and readies the medicine. ]

You know, you're handling this a lot better than I could. Why, if it was me, I'd probably be all, "nooo, you can't make me take my medicine!"

[ It's a playful jab at herself, but hopefully that makes him feel a bit better emotionally. ]

[Billy's mouth is quirking up in the best smile-imitation he can manage.]

Why wouldn't you want to? I've never had a problem with medicine, just...the resting. I'd rather work.

Sometimes medicine takes yicky, that's why.

[ She hands him the pills and has a glass of water all ready. ]

At least it's only for a moment.

[He swallows the pill, face all scrunched up, and takes his water. It's icky, yes, but not that bad.]

So...that should be it?

Yeah, and then you have other delicious things to try to get down.

[ Hoshi leans back and nods. ]

I'm not gonna leave you here, though. I'm gonna stay with you until you feel better, okay, Billy?

That can wait.

[Billy folds his hands over his stomach and settles in.]

It might be a long while, and I'll probably fall asleep. I won't need looking after then.

Yeah, they can.

[ Hoshi brings her legs up and sits Indian style in the chair now. ]

Hey, what are friends for? Of course I'll look after you.

[Settles under the blankets and smiles at her.]
