[ Do you see this face, Jamie? This face means she doesn't waaaant to go to the med baaaay. All full of whining, this face.

She doesn't fight him, though. Can't really find the energy to fight, just lets him help her up again, and leans on him heavily. Whoo look at this room spin. ]

[And this face would be the 'brooking-no-arguments' face. You will not win this one, Kaylee Frye.]

I'll carry ye if I have to.

[Which...it's looking like that might be a very real possibility soon, and that worries him even more. He supports her while waiting for her to get her equilibrium back, then carefully starts guiding her towards the door.]

Let me know if ye need me to stop, aye?

[ Don't mean she can't try. ]

[ She's been toted around once already by Dean, and it's not exactly something she wants to repeat with her stomach acting the way it's been. A few extra seconds are taken to steady herself against Jamie before she starts walking, but even then she keeps a good grip on him. ]

Yeah...

[Well, she's moving under her own power for now, so Jamie fights down the urge to pick her up and carry her anyway.]

I'll try not to have to, Kaylee. We'll just go a wee bit slow in the meantime.

'Kay.

[ Slow is good. She's fairly sure she can handle slow, even if it does make the trip to the Med Bay seem that much longer. There are several stops along the way, most of them consisting of Kaylee trying to hold her stomach back. Really, at this very moment, she just wants to lie down somewhere and never move again. Thank everything for Jamie being there. ]

[If the trip takes longer, it takes longer. Jamie just wants to make sure that Kaylee makes it there, period. Once in the Med Bay, he finds the closest cot and helps her lie down, before coming back with a basin and a cold cloth.]

Now, look, ye stay put. No sneaking back to work, ye hear me?

[ As soon as she's on the cot, Kaylee curls up as tight as she can to try to get some of her warmth back. ]

Won't. Not goin' anyplace.

[ Definitely not going anywhere. And if that's a cold cloth he's got, she's not looking forward to that either. Too cold. ]

[Jamie's not using it just yet. Instead, he sets both things down and covers her up with a blanket first. It'll give the cloth a little time to warm up so it's not ice cold, and hopefully Kaylee will warm up some as well.]

Good. I thought for a minute I'd have to go get Kang to make sure ye weren't about to get up again.

[He reaches for the cloth again, thinking it's been long enough now that it should be tolerable.]

[ Kaylee is beyond grateful for that blanket, and draws it up close to her chin. The beginning's of a small laugh escape her at the comment, but they really come out as more of a cough. ]

Couldn't hold me down if he tried.

[ Which they both know isn't true, so it's clearly a joke. Kind of. Close as she's getting to one right now. ]

[At least she's trying to joke, so that's good, right?]

Aye, you're right. Maybe I should get Wash instead.

[He touches the cloth with his hand. Seems okay to him.]

Here, I'm going to put this on now. Let me know if it's too cold for ye.

[ Definitely good. Completely good. Gotta keep the situation light and happy. ]

Wash'd just fuss.

[ Everyone would fuss, bunch of overprotective men.

She nods slowly, and braces herself for the cloth. It isn't as cold as expected, and it really does feel nice after a minute. That might just be her heating it up, though, hard to tell. ]

It's good, yeah.

[Would? Or is?]

Maybe so. But he'd not let ye leave either.

[Good man, Wash. Jamie likes him much better than Jayne. Jamie adjusts the cloth, then settles down into the chair next to the bed.]

Try and get some sleep, Kaylee. I'll stay here for a wee bit to make sure you're settled.

Kaylee watches Jamie sit down, then reaches carefully out of the mess of blankets to take his hand in her own. ]

You're too nice to me, Jamie. Lucky to have ya.

[He folds his fingers around her hand and gives it a gentle squeeze, but doesn't let go afterward.]

Anything for ye, lass.

Thank you for it.

[ She gives him a small smile, then shifts herself to get as comfortable as she can manage before closing her eyes. ]
