Zuko thinks Marco is a harmless peasant kid who deals with his peasantry and harmlessness by being inappropriately and humorously uppity towards people more noble/powerful than him, and feels sort of guilty for being all GRR FIRE PRINCE I SHOOT FIREBALLS AT YOU that one time. Like now he's looking back on it and going "Aww man self, that wasn't a classy Fire Lord move at all. You should have behaved towards that peasant kid with more dignity."
