Rhiow was delighted to find out there were more New Yorkers on board - she holds Goliath in very high regard because she sees him as being both well-read and intelligent. She also respects him for the dignity with which he's taking being the only one of his kind on board - Rhiow knows how that feels and she wasn't taking it as well.

She wants to be better friends with him because she feels like he'll be a powerful ally. She lacks size and opposable thumbs, he lacks magic. They make a pretty decent team.

Yesssssssss they totally should, I agree with this proposal.

Next time something large and explodey is happening on the ship, we'll make them plot partners :D

Sam is one of three people on the ship that Rhiow will come to if she's having a personal problem. They think on a similar wavelength a lot of the time, and Rhiow finds herself thinking of Sam in much the same way she thought of Urruah - as a partner and a colleague - even though their personalities couldn't be more different.

She would love to see him as a wizard. She thinks he would be a good one - but he's so far out of his latency that it's unlikely he'd be offered the Ordeal now. Still, if she could pick one person to give Mastery to, it would be Sam.

Rhiow thinks that Katara takes too much onto her shoulders, takes things a little too personally, and allows herself to be wounded. But she recognizes that all of these things are the mark of someone who hasn't quite fully matured, so she views them with a kind of amused forbearance.

She does recognize Katara's considerable skill with her own Mastery of waterbending, she just needs to grow a little farther into an adult - then she'll gain the wisdom to go with it.

Kang is the second of three people on the ship that Rhiow will confide in - the fact that he'll let her talk to him in the mental dialect of the Speech is a big plus. I imagine that they'll be commiserating on the miseries of the Council together as well.

Rhiow is fairly sure that there isn't anything they can't accomplish together. Between the two of them they probably know just about everyone on the ship, and if they join forces they could sway the majority opinion. Rhiow wouldn't use that power unless it was absolutely necessary, but she gets the feeling Kang wouldn't either.

Rhiow isn't joking when she calls Antonio "cousin" - they both do the same thing, in very different ways. He's another one that she wishes would be offered wizardry, even though he's too old to still be in latency as well.

His fears during the Nightmare King of falling to the evils in his world rang very true with her. At some point every wizard has to face the awful temptation of giving up their Mastery, or giving it over to the Lone One. Seeing him face that down with her help gave her courage. The fact that he honors the Powers (even if he does call them spirits) also makes her happy - it's good to have a kindred spirit on board.

Dean... well, Dean is a bit of a live wire, and while Rhiow definitely respects his competence, she's usually wary around him because she isn't sure what's going to set him off into one of his crazytown moments. She feels like they came to an understanding during the hostage plot, so she's not afraid he's going to confront her again, but she does keep an eye on him during high-stress situations. Just in case.

But she does consider him to be family, and she enjoys hanging around him.

Ffffffff I missed this. What.

Nanoha kind of confuses Rhiow - her magic doesn't work on any kind of physics Rhiow knows and it drives her nuts trying to figure it out, even after she's accepted that most people on the ship have magic that doesn't have to abide by physics. She's also a little jealous of what Nanoha has with Fate, because Rhiow knows she won't have the same thing. Overall she doesn't think Nanoha has a mean bone in her body and is glad to be in her department.
