the excuses get sadder and sadder

wednesday face-sucking meme!
Doin it wrong.

Here's how it works!
  1. POST WITH YOUR CHARACTERS. One per comment usually works pretty well.
  2. Everybody's welcome! Oldbies, newbies, people not in the game yet but thinking about it...
  3. Other people, anon or logged in, comment with names of other characters! Or you can namedrop your own characters anonly. No one will know ;)
  4. When you find the named character, comment to them with yours!
  5. The command is simple: your character has to kiss them ASAP. Face-sucking is the goal, but other kinds of kisses are cool as well if it's too gross or if you have an even better idea! And no one has to do anything.
  6. GO FORTH AND HAVE FUN, DARLINGS.

"That's definitely a good thing. I married for gentle and sweet."

Then she cocks her head. "Although, don't discount the tongue-jamming. I broke it off with many a man who didn't understand that you have to be able to do both." Katara's a teenager. Better she's getting frank advice than some sugared up chastity garbage.

She nodded. "I want that. I'll admit, I got a little swayed by a little bad boy image, but when you go beyond that, what you want is the guy who'll understand you, who'll be there for you and not be afraid to be real with you, in every sense."

She blushed. "I did that, only once, but you're right. He was the only one I'll ever do that with, because anyone else would have just been weird. But he was a balance, and in the end, I think that's what he's always been, you know?"

"Smart girl. I actually gave Peter the run around for years because I was convinced understanding and constant would just be boring and drag me down, so I'm glad you're not going to drag your future boyfriends through the same silliness. Complete waste of time. Better to get the bad boy phase out of your system young."

"Did what, break it off? Because I'm pretty sure you just said no tongue-jamming."

She nodded, listening intently. "In my case, I saw that he was immature in a lot of ways. The guy that's compassionate, caring, he's the one that will be there for the long haul, that will really understand what being together is all about."

She laughed. "No, nothing like that. He was on the ship, but they took him away. Since then, I didn't want to be that way with anyone: I only had the courage to even date a month or so ago. Even then I didn't realize how much I was waiting for that guy to come back: a part of me was always holding out hope, to feel that way again."

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"How long was he gone again?" And then she laughs a bit. "And you know, holding out in hopes of someone isn't really a measure of love so much as dependence. Have I ever told you about my husband's other wife?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Months," she said, looking a little tortured about it. "And that time, Stacy didn't let you remember who'd been on the ship, so...even though I forget he was there, my body remembered. It's not something I really want to relive all over again. When he came back, they took him again and he was gone for several more months."

Wait, what? "Your husband had another wife?"

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Eva pats her shoulder in an attempt to comfort. "I think you've done your time of pining. Maybe Stacy will give you a break." Not like Eva's an optimist or anything.

She shrugs. Her casual tone pretty effectively masks the fact that this isn't the happiest subject in her family; it's a wound they've stopped picking at, instead bandaging it with humor. "Well, I was legally dead, for nearly five years. Was he supposed to spend the rest of his life in black looking for pyres to throw himself on?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"I hope so," Katara said, "But the the ball isn't in my court for this now. If he can find it in his heart to be with me, I'll be there. But it'll take time."

She sighed. "No, I guess not. But all the same, I hope he'd come back to you once he realized you weren't dead, you know? I mean, he is your husband."

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"Everything does. The good thing about the passage of time is that it only takes happens once, then it's just a memory."

Nora's husband too, for better or for worse. But Nora might be dead for all they know, or might have been a Controller all the time (if they're choosing to go with the unlikely-to-be-true but guilt-free idea that Marco's telling the truth about that), and Eva was so completely broken at the end of the war that Peter would have found it unconscionable to leave her. "He did. Apparently the first twelve years weren't enough to scare him off. Silly, silly man."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
She nodded. "I hope that's the case. The truth is, I've only cared about two people in my life, and one of them is something that happened to me like destiny. If that's over...I have to find a way to deal with that on the ship. Because even seeing him will be hard for me."

She smiled. "That's terribly romantic! I really hope he'll podpop soon. I'm sure Marco misses his dad too."

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Relationships end sometimes. You're a strong girl. Even if it turns out the opposite of what you want, you'll be fine in the long run. That's what matters."

"I do too. If only so Marco can have someone to help him mock me when I can't figure out the whatsicomm for the hundredth time."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Katara knew otherwise. Aang was someone special, and losing him would be like losing a part of herself, a part of the world she was from. But Eva didn't have to know that. "I hope you're right."

She giggled. "I'm sure it won't be that bad! Besides, I can help you with the omnicomm...if I can figure it out, you can!"

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Eva has to believe what doesn't kill you eventually fades away. She has to. She'd crumble otherwise.

"Well, you know what they say about old dogs. I managed to make one of those profile things, but I still haven't figured out the ring things."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
While she would understand and agree with that on most things, this was Aang: there was no way that she could be happy without him, she knew that for sure.

"I don't believe that, thank you," Katara said, looking stern. "I think whatever you want to do, you can. Believe me, our technology isn't even close to what you guys can do. I can help you, if you want!"

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'll take you up on that offer if you promise not to tease me about it like certain ungrateful children on the ship," she says with a grin. "I'm actually excellent with Yeerk technology, but it's not even remotely similar to human technology."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-02-18 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course not," Katara said, looking scandalized at the thought. "I had a hard enough time getting a hang of all of this. It would be sort of cruel to tease you about it."

That included using guns, which still just bothered her.
