I-it's a survival mechanism! But it wasn't intentional this time...

[Aaaand largely against his will, he finds his arms making their way around Alastirra's waist in a return hug. His is not as enthusiastic as hers, but it is a good, firm hug nonetheless.]

She narrowed her eyes. "Well, what DID happen when that thing swallowed you? I heard you scream, so I kinda did my best to get you out but I couldn't. What happened to you in there?"

No, it's not that. I don't know much about her, really, so I don't have much of an opinion. I was just reminded of my own.

[He misses them. :( ]

I noticed that. She's a good fighter, but there's still a few things she needs to learn.

"I don't have to!" she said, laughing. "Anyone who didn't want to strangle me even after I froze them in ice 'for their own good' is a pretty cool mom in my book!"

She nodded. "I have Katara's memories about her people, and I have my own: whether we were North or South Pole, community is the most important thing in our tribe. All the people on this ship, they're just another tribe in a way."

It does...although I'm really not knowing why at the moment.

Her face quickly lost color and she brought her knees up to her chest defensively. "I... I don't like being inside things.... Th-that's all..."

"I see," she said, rubbing the girl's shoulder. "I figured it might be something like claustrophobia. Did you want to talk about it hun?"

[Still a little glum but slowly getting better.]

How's it going?

Claustrophobia would be nice compared to what she felt. She shook her head not wanting to relive it at the moment. "N-no... not r-right now p-please..."

Kaya nodded, still rubbing the girl's shoulders. "I don't meant to bring up anything that hurts, believe me. I just want to make sure that if you ever have to fight again, they wouldn't weaken you in that way. But we don't have to, ok? We can just be comfortable."

Ronnae nodded, curling up against Katara and snuggling up. "Th-thanks Katara."

She hugs him a bit tighter at that. "I know you miss them. It's terrible."

She nods. "Honestly, I hope we can preserve that innocence a little longer."

She should have corrected her, but instead, put her arms around Ronnae. She didn't miss the gesture, not at all.

"It's all right. We're friends: we should be comfortable around each other, right?"

It is. And you, my friend, do not look happy.

She nodded yet again. Totally enjoying the comfort. "R-right, we should!"

No? It is hard to give you things I have for you when I cannot find you. Perhaps we ought to attempt that outside of this meme space? [Have a cheesy grin.]

Besides, I missed you. [Serious Draenei is serious. She's gentle enough, but you aren't getting away any time soon, Jamie.]

Eva doesn't quite believe that, but she acts as if she's agreeing anyway. She's in no tribe with voluntary controllers or Yeerks.

That's...kind of sweet, actually. Not expecting that. But I'm a tough cookie...you know, so long as you don't squeeze to kill or anything. I'm good.

Oh no! Just snuggling! [As if to prove her point, Alastirra scoops up her much smaller companion into a big hug]

"W-" Any protests she may have had are hugged out of her, and even Hit Girl, in all of her awesomeness, has never been hugged like this, not even with dad. It was weird and good and confusing all at the same time.

And did the freakish thing of making her speechless.

She laughed. "I knew it wasn't you, but I told you why I did it, after all. I didn't like the idea of you being possessed and all."

She was still not knowing as much about the Yeerks and voluntary controllers, so she figured by the look on Eva that she had her own reservations only she knew about.

"It wasn't exactly a laugh riot for me, either. Embarrassing at best." Retraumatizing at worst. "I'm glad you helped. Still sorry Marco didn't take it well, but like I said, he has his reasons."
