Dunno 'ow I ended up 'ere. [And yet, he's leaning against Jamie now.]

"Didn't say you were," she says gently. "I understand. It must be very hard on you."

"Oh, no, I know how he feels, mostly. It's a learning curve for me. I still want to be driving him to school and giving the bigger kids in his class ominous glares," she says with a laugh.

"It's a good one to have, if it keeps you moving. I've seen too many people roll over and give up when the going gets hard." Yeerks. Former hosts. Peter. Spiteful resilience isn't a universal trait.

She always did blush a lot. Yes, those things were starting to come back to her, like fog slowly descending back from her brain. It was good to have everything start to make sense again, to know that her memories were still hers.

"It'll be a few days, and I'll need your help Ronnae," she told her friend. "It's not so much being back on the ship that'll be the hard part: its being someone else, this person I was, when I was holding so tightly to being Katara."

[Purple space-goat will oblige him!]

[Since their first counter, the waterbender had relaxed a little, and after all was said and done, was more than happy to have someone to recline against.]

"I can't blame you for how you reacted. It's a hard thing to come to terms with. Even Aang had trouble, from what I remember. I've changed a little too: my name is actually Kaya, and I'm from the Northern Water Tribe."

She smiled. "Now, since its been awhile since I've seen another airbender, why not tell em about yourself?"

"You'll get the hang of it, trust me. Once you start caring about people on the ship, you start to act like mother pretty quickly. People are a little too stupid for their own good, myself included. Half the decisions they make are going to be pretty stupid. The mother thing pretty much will fall into place."

She nodded. "I've seen that happen to some people myself. If I can find a way to ease that a little, I'll do what I can, you know?"

Maybe later then.

*He was reluctant... marginally. It wasn't manly to hug. But he relaxed against her and hugged back. His voice was very quiet.*

It's weird. And you don't have to be gentle, I'm pretty damn sturdy.

If I had, I wouldn't be as ass kicked as I am now. I'm no squealer. And Sasami is delicate: you think I'd let him come close to what he did to me?

"What, and you think I'm not too stupid for my own good?" She laughs again.

"Just don't let it happen to yourself. Though, at least you have a motivation to keep moving. That's the most important thing, I think." It's not so much that people need support, she thinks, as that they need to think they're supporting others.

[He laughs, rubbing her back a bit.]

Not always.

"We've all got our demons, Winchester. No pun intended." She doesn't break the hug. She doesn't quite know why. "Thank you for taking care of Tom."

She looked at her friend and kissed her cheek reassuringly. "I'll be here for sure. Helping you the whole way for as long as you need it. We're friends afterall!" She hugged her tightly.

"You go lounge in Hydroponics or play with your children in the Sensoriums. I get hammered and beat up a house of mirrors, which I did not tell Samson about, by the way," she mutters, poking a finger against Kang to illustrate her point.

You just haven't seen me use the Sensoriums to kill Knights or goblins yet.

[One of his wings moves to wrap around her.]

[He watches the other with a curious tilt of his fuzzy head, he hasn't seen this one before, nevertheless the scritches are good. Leaning right into them with the beginnings of a purr, looking up to him at the question but making no sign of reply apart from nuzzling past one of his legs. Just an ordinary cat here, nothing to be alarmed about..really.]

"Hey, at least those are goblins. Who doesn't use the Sensoriums to beat up bad guys?" She shifts so that she's nestled under his arm and wing.

[This particular kitty is far more resilient than an ordinary kitty, not that he'd look it. He hasn't seen one like her before but with the Scritches and petting, it hardly matters! He leans into the petting purring quite loudly]

Still doesn't mean it's dignified.

"I'm sure getting so drunk I have to be practically carried home has to be a few rungs lower. Thank you for that, by the way."

She frowns a bit. "I'm still angry at you." But she gives him a friendly squeeze.
