[She jerks a little bit at his motion towards her, but allows him to retrieve the glasses.] Thank you. God, it's like someone smeared vaseline all over my eyesight. Your eyesight. No offense.

[It's certainly bizarre to be staring at your own body, what you're normally used to seeing only in reflective surfaces or photographs. He carries her body differently than she does, less tension, less stubborn straight neck. She tries to raise an eyebrow and finds she's working with a whole different face.] Too bad I couldn't inherit your gift for archeology, I guess.

[sorry]

None taken. I was going to go with being underwater, but vaseline eyes works too.

[Bizarre's one way to put it. Creepy is another. He's got his arms wrapped around his uh, new ribcage, mostly because he's not sure what to do with them at the moment and mostly because it's habit. Then he realizes what he's doing and how close those arms are. He drops his hands awkwardly.]

Go to school, give up any hope of a social life, and you could. Oh yeah, watch out for alien pollen. Or pollen at all.

[She taps the side of his head.] Your hearing's a little better than mine. You've never had your eardrums popped, have you?

[She taps his fingers against his thigh, unsettled by how foreign this body feels and mind racing as she tries to figure out how to undo it.] I'll keep it in mind. Be careful to favor the right leg when you walk, and don't raise that right arm above shoulder height or you'll regret it.

Wow really? I never noticed.

[He seems to realize it's a 'no shit' reply. He awkwardly clears his throat]

No, I haven't. I think I'll pass though.

[It sounds pretty painful. Watch out Eva, you're a few seasons away from having an appendix rupture. Better switch bodies before then. From the looks of it, Daniel is a little tempted to try raising his arm just see what would happen. Curiosity about to strike again]

What happened to your shoulder?

[Eva will battle a burst appendix with the power of spite! But hopefully she's back in her own body by then. This one is a little too tall and gangly-feeling. Not that she's especially attached to her own body, but she's sure Daniel misses his.]

Broken in four places and dislocated. Alien technology pieced me back together pretty well, but it's still a bit off. [She smiles.] It's a long story, but I fell off a cliff.

[She flexes his hands in front of her, examining them.] Anything else I should know about this body, aside from allergies and not being able to read stop signs from a distance?

[He's almost sorry he asked because he'd been expecting something less traumatic. God, Eva, what have you gone through? And yeah, you could say that he misses his body a lot, visual problems and massive allergies included.]

Jeez, Eva. And you survived a cliff fall?

[He mirrors her, examining her hands, which compared to his original ones, are pretty small and petite. No callouses from hours on a dig.]

Um, well, nothing that's going to leave a mark. I got shot in the chest on two different occasions and died each time?

[Maybe he shouldn't mention Nem's mind probe or the other stuff...]

[One where she was set up to fall by her own kid, no less!]

Like I'm going to let something as petty as gravity do me in, Daniel.

[Eva's hands may have no callouses, but there is dirt under her nails and a significant amount of scarring up her arms, especially in rings around her wrists from being shackled. She pokes at the callouses on Daniel's right hand - he's clearly not just book smart, but physically dedicated to his job. When he mentions being shot, she instinctively touches his chest with his hand.]

You...what? How? Please tell me it wasn't friendly fire, that'd be phenomenally bad luck.

[What happened to just knocking people out nowadays and taking them prisoner? Did he miss a memo? He smiles with her mouth a little weakly]

Yeah, and next stop, defeating time itself. There's no way to fully heal your shoulder?

[her hands might be smaller but her hands and arms tell quite a story. She'd obviously gone through a lot, and it's all her just like carvings.]

It definitely wasn't friendly, no. I stepped into it on purpose the first time. Wish I could say the same the second time.

No. I used to have a physical therapist I'd visit back on Earth, but clearly they're not aboard Stacy, and honestly I don't miss getting metaphorical gold stars for doing basic things like lifting my arm up. It's a bit degrading, you know?

[She frowns. It feels unusual on his face, with a different mouth, different teeth.]

Stepped into it? Some kind of heroic gesture or a bozo move into dangerous territory? I'm...sorry that happened to you.

Maybe but I don't think the therapist intended for you to feel that way. They really do want you to get as much movement back in your arm.

[If this swap doesn't get resolved soon, he may start taking up physical therapy for her shoulder on her behalf.]

It depends on how you look at it. I guess it was stupid but it was either that or let Jack get killed.

I'm sure they do, just as sure as I am I can do without.

[She twists his mouth a bit.] Sounds heroic sacrificey. Those are never fun. But you're alright now, which is something. I mean, besides being in the wrong body, but that's unrelated.
