Indecisive Meme!

So! Al has a problem and I'm sure many of you share the same problem.

So many muses to pick from, only one spot to app with!

And so here's the game

1. Post with a muse you have that you've been curious about bringing to Trans, maybe set up a scene if you feel perky.

3. Or get tags from muses who will be joining Trans_9 soon!

Jayne grunted and gave Simon one of those withering looks attempting to broadcast We may have done the impossible together, but you're still a dip.

"Yeah I'm here, Been here awhile. Where the hell have you been?"

Simon returned the glance with a mixture of bewilderment and suspicion. He was still trying to piece together how long he'd been gone, after all. And besides, out of all Serenity's crew members, Jayne was the one he least wanted to see.

"I've, ah. Been in the test chambers. For...a very long time. I'm not sure how long. You weren't here when I left."

"So I noticed." And he was happier that way.

Time for the standard information shakedown, "Before you got on the ship what's the last thing you remember?"

He wasn't entirely sure what that had to do with anything, but maybe if he humored Jayne's questions, Simon could get in a few of his own. If more of Serenity's crew had awoken, maybe River had too.

But remembering a life before Stacy and test chambers was more difficult than he anticipated. Simon let out an impatient sigh and wracked his brain. "The infirmary. It wasn't long after the, uh...the incident with the bounty hunter. Why? Is that important?"

Jayne growled and his muscles involuntarily flexed like he was going to punch Simon, but he didn't.

"Great, Shiny." He was speaking through tightly clamped teeth. "Kaylee will be glad to see you...probably." But clearly he was no where near happy to see Simon.

He tended to do things that made other people want to punch him. And even if Jayne was decidedly low on his list of favorite people, he was still familiar, and the mercenary's reaction to Simon's answer only puzzled him more, enough to continue the conversation.

"Wait, wait. What does that mean?"

Time for his favorite game that always perked him up Pick on Simon.

"Well ya know, it's been a long damn time since you left. Girl can't be expected ta wait for someone that long. Girl's got needs."

Oh. Well. This was awkward. Simon rubbed the back of his neck and his eyes shifted downward. "Well. Of course. I wouldn't expect her to..."

WAIT. WAIT. No. There were more important things to talk about here.

"But...River. Is she...?"

"No sign of her. I figure she's still in the pods. But we got Wash, Inara and the Captain now." Jayne wondered just why he had become the information guy for newcomers?

He nodded slowly, knowing that he should have expected the answer but disheartened for allowing himself the hope anyway.

At least Kaylee had not-Jayne company in his absence. "Right. So if they're here now, the rest of us have to be."

"Us" of course, meaning the remainder of the crew, River included. Looking for reassurance from Jayne was probably not the smartest move, but hey, a familiar face was a familiar face.

Jayne shrugged, "Been an awful long time, and we've seen everyone else. If Stacy has em woulda figured she'd have let em out before you. Crazy Sister and Zoe would be a hell of a lot more useful in a fight then you. We got plenty of medics now."

Good to see you Simon, glad your not dead! Wish you were someone else!
