[Grins at her as he sets the board down on the sand and sits beside her, shaking waterlogged, shaggy bangs out of his eyes.]

"Do not drown," Arha said from the safety of a rock--which was as close to the water as she could force herself to go. The surf crashed around her, though, and she glowered at it every time it ventured in and dared to splash her.

Luke paddled over on his board, and sat on it, bracing against the rock with an arm.

"I'm a pretty good swimmer for having grown up on a planet with no water," he said, smiling up at her on her rock. "I won't drown."

"...who taught you how to swim?" she asked and pulled her knees to her chest as water splashed up at her. "Tsst! It is alive! Why does it move so? Water should be still."

"I can't even remember, really." Luke laughed and slid off the board; the water wasn't that deep here, maybe to his hips, and warm. "It moves because it's the ocean and it has tides. Come on in, it's really warm."

"It is very wet," she said with a frown and then flushed as she realized how stupid that sounded. "And." She hugged her knees tighter. "I do not know how to swim. The water could eat me."

And that sounded exceptionally stupid as well.

Bart is running on water. He can do that, it's a superspeed thing. "I think you're supposed to stay on the board."

"I'm not too good at this yet," Luke said, doggedly paddling back out to catch another wave. He'd learn how to surf well yet, if only because Mara was laughing at him from the shore.

"I think Superboy's good at it. I've never done it. I'm pretty good at just running on the water. I'm cool like that. My name's Bart, by the way."

"Uh, I mean Impulse. I was confusing me with someone else."

Through the Force, Luke heard the truth to both names, and let his legs dangle off either side of the board as he looked up with a little smile. "I'm Luke Skywalker. Nice to meet you Bart... or Impulse." His smile turned into a grin. Fooling a Jedi was a difficult thing to do. "Which one do you prefer?" he asked.

Well, if it's Luke Skywalker, that's okay. He saw that movie. Or part of it. He got bored pretty quickly. But Kon's told him the plot and Luke Skywalker's a good guy. "Bart's fine! But not around other people. Secret ID."

Satori frowns, squinting out at the great expanse of blue, sunny sky. So strange-looking.

"No thanks. It's already painfully bright from under my umbrella."

[It can't help Luke's cause any that Kyle is taking random Force Push pot-shots at the waves Luke's trying to ride. Occasionally a pull too. Whichever seems to trip him up a bit more.]

Kyle makes no attempt to defend himself. He knew full well he deserved that. But hey, it was fun. That made it all worth it.
