Meatshipping!

Soooo. Pairings. Threesomes. Platonic relationships.

Who's going to hook up on trans_9? Who gets together in your fantasies? What absolutely unworkable crack pairing do you giggle about?

List 'em here. And who knows, maybe we can play around a bit in this post. ;)

No mention of Cale and Leela yet? XD The two of them are hilarious and it's really funny how the personalities just sort of collided. Their interactions are a lot of fun to watch.

Also loves for the Paco/Kate/Plays sort-of-triangle thing going on. Xd

On the subject of the Chief, as he's been mentioned, he's a difficult character to ship. (Warning! tl;dr!)
Trans_9 is much more like "home" than Infinity, he's already managed to find a leadership position for himself and is taking responsibility for the safety and lives of others onto his own shoulders. One of the things that strikes me again and again in his canon is how isolated the man really is. Not only is he a Spartan (which alienates him enough from most people) but he's the Spartans' leader. He confides in nobody, he doesn't kid around the way the others sometimes do, he acts almost as an older brother to the rest of them and it sets him apart. John is very serious business and, regardless of personal feelings, will be what he thinks his team needs him to be. Even if he were to develop an emotional attachment to someone, which he'd likely pick up on and try to suppress himself, it is unlikely that the Chief would act on his feelings. He'd see it as a supremely selfish action, and would think himself as a poor candidate for anyone's affection. John knows that his life is not his to promise to anybody, and he doesn't make promises he knows he can't keep.

Um, yeah. <.< I've thought about that a lot and could go on for a while. It'd be possible, but it would be very hard for him and he'd guilt like WHOAH over it. We'll just have to see what happens. XD

Chief's reluctance is actually why I would find him winding up in a ship so interesting (if it happened at all). It's the same reason I find it so fascinating with Brainy. In the first incarnation, he fell for Supergirl, she died, then got wiped from time and Laurel Gand replaced her. They broke up and parted ways and she married someone else and had a kid--and that was that.

In that timeline, there was also a batch of "clones" (that they later found out were their younger selves time-displaced, thus farking up the timeline) where the younger Brainy wound up with the younger Laurel but then both groups got wiped out as time rebooted.

And that was that.

Then my Brainy came about in the reboot and had a crush on Laurel, kinda pushed her away when she showed remote interest in him, and that was that. She became a space nun.

Then the threeboot Brainy fell in love with Dream Girl, but she died, but she got revived and they apparently were gonna get married, thus marking him as the ONLY Brainiac 5 to have a successful relationship. (Which is ironic, because he's the most sociopathic).

So I mean, look at that track record of relationships failing or just not happening. It's fascinating watching a character shoved into stuff like that when it's not natural for them.

And that's why I think peeps are all "CHIEF/SOMEBODY" XD

It would be cool to be able to pull it off. It's something I'd really like to explore with the Chief, give the guy some human life experience. That's one of my goals for him is to... not so much to get him to feel. He already does that, sometimes very strongly. It's just he doesn't let himself feel things, it all gets shoved off into the land of things-we-do-not-think-about, and it would be interesting to see him forced to deal with it. He's fantastic at bottling things up until they go away. I don't know how he does it. O.o

Also, the idea of him/anybody is just funny because it would be so awkward. XD And he would go find a corner and angst over it. Really he would. Heck, Cortana would probably bother him about it if she suspected. She's also about the closest thing he really has to a best friend, barring a particular few of the other Spartans and they're just as sheltered as he is.

Umm, umm, I rambled! /o/
