I dunno if Chief would be likely to do it or not, but after the mission, Geoff would probably be very open to learning how to fight accurately with a modern 'crossbow,' and Chief's one of two people he trusts to do it who actually can.

Chief would. It worries him how many people on this ship can't shoot. And he would really prefer if they never have to repeat the "Oh God Chaucer has a Dracon Beam" thing again.
