I feel vaguely bad posting this since we've had a few other memes over the last few days but. I wanna spam the hell out of everyone. .___.

In honour of the fact that it's Valentine's tomorrow in my corner of the world, I bring you the Blind Date Meme!

Somehow, someway, your character has agreed to a blind date (or several). Maybe they were coerced into it, maybe they don't actually mind the idea, maybe it's just Stacy messing with everyone's heads again, but they're here now. And at the very least, it shouldn't be boring for them.

♥ Make a comment for your character, you can outline a mini-setting if you want. (Think along the lines of the 'Waking up in bed' meme we had a little while back.)

♥ Other characters comment to that as the other half of the blind date!

[Maybe not, but Lyle is stuck floating there and trying very hard not to make a big deal over this. Which is unfair. If your foot is hurt, you should get to swear and whimper a lot.]

Very much so. I find it extremely handy considering the Legion's... perchance for injury. It helps a lot if there's someone who can perform emergency treatments around for large missions as well.

There are all sorts of Earth-That-Was picnic goodies in the basket--chicken, some form of potato salad or another, and even a freshly baked pie. The mechanic's looking pretty pleased with herself, and is sipping on a cup of tea. ]

[Billy's smile is not as bright as Kaylee's, but it's definitely there now. He moves to her side and cocks his head in the direction of the sand trail.]

Well, that's the entire premise of a blind date. You're not supposed to know in advance who you're waiting for.

[Oh, crud. He didn't pick the wrong date, did he? Cue nervous look.]

...You were looking for an arranged meeting, right?

[ A very long, dramatic pause. And the she grins. ]

Well, I was told I might find a nice walkin' partner down this way if I showed up at a certain time. S'pose the word "date" might'a been used in there someplace.

[Totally fidgeting during the pause. Then, he laughs in relief]

Then we're both where we belong.

[He continues walking with her, then bends and scoops up a conch shell, holding it out to her]

I've found that the climate isn't conducive to floral gifts.

[ She accepts the shell with a very pleased smile. ]

This is nicer than any flowers, surer than anythin'. It'll last a lot longer, too.

Not really. Only thing I ever seen of oceans has been on Central planets, and not nearly as much of that as I'd like. Most've the inhabitable parts of Border planets are all desert or snow.
