Think about or think back on the childhood days/younger days of your character (or your character now if they already are kids). There's a huge playroom with a mountain of toys....

A young gargoyle watches the draconian from his sturdily constructed pillow fort, eyeing the remains of the toy with suspicion. The destructive youngster better not get any ideas about moving from toys to the gargoyle's "castle."

Kang eyes the gargoyle warily, then goes back to his destruction. Don't think he still isn't paying attention to you, though, Goliath. This toy is his.

So. This is how it's going to be. Staring each other down in silence, apart from the shredding of stuffed animals . . . until the young gargoyle poses a philosophical question.

"If you keep destroying your things, soon you will have destroyed them all. What will you do then?"

HE'S WATCHING YOU, KANG. WAAAATCHING.

[governorkang]

"Humans give more," Kang says simply, a low growl coming from chest. "Humans want me to destroy."

WATCHING YOU BACK. Oh look, more fluff going in the air.

Dry stare. Humans, the little gargoyle is convinced, are friends, but they can mislead, as is perhaps this case.

"What does your clan want?"

[governorkang]

Humans are food-givers, and are to be looked up to. Not quite friends. :|

"Clan?"

[not_the_philistine]

"Family. Brothers and sisters. Elders. Others of your kind."

Ring any bells?

[governorkang]

Kang's snout wrinkles slightly as he takes a moment to think. Then, he snorts, "No sisters. Fight with brothers over food. Humans make us fight."

[not_the_philistine]

Have a frown to accompany the dry stare as the little gargoyle issues this dire pronouncement - "then your humans are bad."

And, confusion - "Why do you have no sisters?" Everybody has sisters. He has at least twelve.

[governorkang]

"Humans not bad! Humans give us food. Humans make us fight so we are strong," Kang hisses, wings flaring slightly.

"Only brothers created. No sisters."

[not_the_philistine]

"A warrior fights to protect the Clan's territory," Goliath counters. "All gargoyles are warriors, and we are all strong."

SO THERE.

"You need sisters. You must find them, or else you will have no mates, and no eggs, and no more clan."

[governorkang]

Kang puffs out his chest to make himself look bigger, "I am strong! Stronger than brothers. They try to kill me for food, I kill them instead. Need strong soldiers to make empire!"

He's not quite old enough to understand the whole mating thing yet, and he snorts again. "Not need sisters. Humans create more of us."

[not_the_philistine]

The gargoyle inhales sharply. This is far more distressing even than a lack of sisters.

"Brother-killer! Empires fall. It is a waste if brothers die for them!" He narrows his eyes for another dire pronouncement. "You have no honor."

[governorkang]

"This empire not fall! Takhisis is strong god, stronger than weak Paladine. Weakness not allowed," Kang growls. "I kill brothers before brothers kill me. I survive. I get food, they don't. Humans happy."

The gargoyle frowns, thinking of what it means to have brothers, to be a Clan.

"Your humans are teaching you things that are wrong about strength and clan. You should not listen to them. You should listen to your brothers instead. And you should protect them, not kill them."

[governorkang]

Kang shakes his head, "Humans right. Takhisis right. I only kill brothers when they attack me for food. Other times, I leave alone. I protect myself."
