Ickle Meatships!

Hopefully no one sues me for semi-stealing the SLEEP meme format but!

ICKLE!

Think about or think back on the childhood days/younger days of your character (or your character now if they already are kids). There's a huge playroom with a mountain of toys....

Have fun, Kids! And no fightings!

If Kaylee cares at all about the mud she isn't showing it. In fact, the dirtier she is, the happier she seems to be.

The tickling back, though. She can't really pin his hands and tickle him at the same time, now can she? "Nooo you're s'posed to hold still!" she blurts out, before falling sideways off of him in a fit of giggles.

"What, and let ye win?" Little Jamie hasn't actually figured out yet that sometimes that's a good thing. However, right now, he thinks he has actually won, so he doesn't follow up with more tickling. This may be a mistake.

He looks at the covered-in-mud-Kaylee, and grins unrepentantly.

There's an unspoken truce with the tickling, for the moment. After she's caught her breath, Kaylee shakes her head and sticks out her tongue.

"I could win without you lettin' me!"

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-18 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
Jamie gives her a skeptical look for a moment, then shakes his head and says completely seriously, "Ye wouldna win. You're just a girl."

Boys always win. That's just the way of things. And, in his mind, he just proved that, so obviously Kaylee will see that as well.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-18 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Well. Kaylee is all business now, standing with her hands on her hips. She glances over him before sticking her chin out, jaw set. "I could beat you."
bonnypiperlad: (So...)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-19 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
There's a snort from Jamie. "Well, I'm sure ye think ye can, but ye'd be wrong." He's very matter of fact about the whole situation. It is what it is, after all.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-19 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
"I know I can." And just to prove it, she jumps up at Jamie, knocks him over again, and sits on him triumphantly while she gives him a noogie. "Told you so."
bonnypiperlad: (hrmph)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-19 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
There's an "Oof!" from Jamie as he is knocked over, and she does get away with the noogie for a moment. That is, until Jamie pulls his head away and tries to get Kaylee off him the simplest way he knows how - by attempting to sit up, very quickly.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-19 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
The sitting up doesn't throw her off balance at all--she's rough-housed with plenty of boys at home, this one ain't any different--but she moves the wrong way and Jamie's forehead collides with her nose. Kaylee falls back off of him then, her hands up over her nose and tears welling up in her eyes.
bonnypiperlad: (Ohshi-)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-19 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Jamie - for all that he's being a bit of a snot - isn't really all that mean of a little kid. And when Kaylee gets hurt, he immediately forgets the whole argument and goes to take a look. "I'm sorry! I didna mean to...are ye okay?"
Please don't cry, Kaylee.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-19 08:50 am (UTC)(link)
The tears don't go away, but they don't spill over, either. Kaylee just nods her head miserably, nose still sheltered behind her fingers. It hurts, but she doesn't want to make him feel bad... "It's okay. Barely hurts at all."
bonnypiperlad: (ohcrap)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-19 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Are ye sure?" Jamie looks worried. He didn't mean to hurt her, after all. "Can I see?"

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-19 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
At first she shakes her head--what if it's bleeding and he gets those leeches he was talking about?--but once she's sure she's not bleeding everywhere one of her hands moves away. The other stays, just barely blocking her nose from view. "See?"
bonnypiperlad: (Default)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-19 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
Jamie peers at it for a moment, then says cautiously, "I don't think it's broken..." It doesn't look like it's turning colors to him, but her hand is in the way.

He figures repeating himself again couldn't hurt. "I'm verra sorry I hurt ye." He pauses, and adds, "Is there something I can do?"

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-19 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
Since he doesn't think it's broken, and it's starting to hurt less, Kaylee takes her other hand down.

"S'okay, accidents happen." She shakes her head again. "'M sorry for givin' you a noogie."
bonnypiperlad: (looking)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-19 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
Jamie shrugs and says, "Och, it wasna so bad." And he deserved it - but he doesn't say that out loud. Instead, he looks down shyly at the floor, then back up at Kaylee. "Friends?"

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-19 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
You were supposed to shake on agreements. She knew that much from playing with the other kids. If there is a truce, everybody has to shake on it, just like any other deal. Kaylee sticks out her hand. "Friends."
bonnypiperlad: (smile)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-19 09:42 am (UTC)(link)
That's all the prompting Jamie needs to shake the offered hand. He smiles at Kaylee happily. That's much better than a noogie. And now that they're friends, he feels he can ask a question of her.

"What's a planet, anyway?"

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-19 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
Kaylee just blinks. Who doesn't know what a planet is? Then again, he didn't know what proper ships were, either.

Some kids are so sheltered.

"Planet's the whooole earth you live on, with mountains and land and oceans. And there're lots of 'em, and people live on bunches of different kinds." If it was nighttime, she'd show him the stars, and point out which ones might be planets.
bonnypiperlad: (puzzled)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-20 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Jamie shakes his head. "That can't be right. There's Scotland, and England..." He breaks off, thinking furiously. He doesn't know a lot of places. "Well. I suppose there's the man that lives in the Moon, but that's way up in the sky." He's only one person though, not people. He's having a hard time believing in the concept of planets.

"And that's the Moon, anyway, not one of these planet-y things. Are ye sure ye aren't just thinking of stories?"

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Scotland and England? Weren't those on Earth-That-Was? "Ain't no Earth, though. Got used up, so we had to go other places." He's obviously the one who's been reading too much.

"Planets're called moons, too, sometimes..." Maybe he lived on a planet that liked to name their things after Earth-That-Was.
bonnypiperlad: (puzzled)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-21 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
Jamie gives Kaylee an utterly baffled look. "What do you mean, no Earth? I was just there..." And then he was here, with small girls who give noogies and build model spaceships.

He opens his mouth, closes it again, then frowns. "I don't understand."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
Kaylee shakes her head. "Couldn't've been just there, ain't nobody been there in years." Everybody knew that..right?

Oh well. There were some kids who didn't go to school, or hear things. "S'alright if you don't. Not everybody does..."
bonnypiperlad: (hmm)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-02-21 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Years?" Jamie's still frowning as he thinks about it. "How many years?" There's definitely something strange going on here. He's just not sure what, however.

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Kaylee doesn't really know how long it's been... "A lot of years." And then, as if it'll help, "At least a hundred years."
