Fun for awkwardness and/or kinkiness....

Here post somebody in, and the person who tags them? Congratulations, you're now handcuffed together. No keyholes and there's power dampeners to prevent those of you with magic/super strength to break them easily. How they come off? That's up to you, and your new partner to figure out!

With the amount of awkward situations we've been through before? Don't know if there're many more we'd have to experience.

But yeah, all for figurin' this out. Think it's an act, like they've been before?

I hesitate to list them, but offhand I can think of eating, the restrooms, and sleeping. This chain is only the bare minimum of length to qualify as one.

[Sigh. He's still fiddling here and there.] It could be an act, but for what purpose? Is someone looking to be amused?

Sleepin' and eatin' ain't hard, and there're such things as curtains if you're feelin' shy. Not a problem.

Always for somebody's entertainment, but I meant more along the lines of how to go about gettin' 'em off. Most things 'round here seem to take some sorta act to change things to normal. Hugs or whatnot.

[The rest of her meaning catches up with him, and his face starts to redden.]

KAYLEE! [As familiar as rain, that.]

How on earth do you think of...Kaylee? [Blink.] You're back.

[ Giggle fits here. ]

Ain't so hard to think 'em up when you're so easy to fluster, Billy.

...and yeah, 'M back...was I gone that long?

[Headshake.]

Yeah. It must have been...a few weeks, at least? I thought my life was slightly more depressing than usual.

[Smiles broadly.] I'm glad you're back, but I'm certain we'll both be gladder when these cuffs come off. Would you like to try those suggestions of yours first, so we don't spend hours of effort hacking into them when the solution is simple?

Weeks?? Oh Dean's gonna...everybody's gonna... [ She shakes her head. Not the time to think about it. ]

If that's you askin' for a hug, Billy, I'd be more'n happy to give you twenty. [ And she gives him an awkward half-hug. Damn cuffs. ]

It's all right, they'll be overjoyed to see you again. They just...may become slightly over-protective of you.

[He hugs her as best he can, with the chained hand awkwardly squeezing fingers. Sadly, no effect on the cuffs.]

It's really good to see you again, Kaylee.

Now about these cuffs...they might need to be melted, or teleported off, or waited out on a timer, or they may respond to a certain action. It would be so much easier with a clue.

[Leans down to study it.]

[ She laughs a little at that. ] They are anyhow. Don't take a disappearance to see that.

Good to see you too, Billy. Better than cake.

Be easier if they just gave us a gorram user's guide. [ But she's studying them as well. Not even a scratch on her side, though. ]

Surely you jest---oh. You never had any cake, did you? Well, I know a few people on the ship who can fix that.

[Keeps looking.] The only clue we have is no outwardly visible access method, which suggests some form of magic to me. The type that usually requires an obscure method of unlocking.

...I really hope it doesn't involve any variant of a three-armed race.

Never did. That GlaDos is all full of promises she don't keep.

Obscure method of unlockin' can mean a whole range of things, dependin' on who you're talkin' to. What've we had to do in the past to fix things? Might lead into a clue...

I wouldn't eat her cake. [Wrinkles nose.] Why should I trust it?

[Thinks.] Previous conditions have been hugs---we know that doesn't work, kisses, conversation, accomplishing some feat made difficult by the restriction, and a code word at least once.

Does that mean we should start simultaneously speaking anything that comes to mind and operate a complex lever system?

All full of the same lies she's full of, I'm sure.

So it's somethin' new, maybe? Not that it wouldn't hurt to double-check previous options, but I ain't seen it double back all that often.

...you see a lever system around to be operatin'?

No, it was just an example.

[Rakes his free hand through his hair.] Then we'll have to try a variety of options.

[Licks his end of the cuff. Hey, it could be /really/ obscure.]

[ And now she's just laughing, before she reaches forward and lightly pinches his arm. ]

Well, that's two options out.

[ And she starts mumbling various Chinese phrases. ]

[Startled!]

Uh..right. Of course.

[He starts twisting around in various pretzel positions, doing all he can to shift his body without disturbing Kaylee. Somewhere along the way, the cuff shivers.]

...was that a hint?

[ She's stopped the phrases by the time the cuffs shiver, so it's clearly something Billy's done. ]

Seems like. Do that again. Whatever you did.

It may not be a good thing, but it's our first clue.

[He twists to attempt to remember precisely what he was doing to trigger that until he wobbles and almost falls, balancing precariously on one foot. It happens again.]

...am I supposed to fall?

[ Kaylee's there to help him balance again. She gives the floor an unsure glance. ]

Maybe if we both do whatever you tried before we fall on the ground?

[ She tries mimicking Billy's movements and body position. It's the balancing on one foot that gets it to shudder again. ]

...alright. From here?

[Grateful smile.]

Right.

[He mimics her, and it quivers steadily harder. Just a few seconds, maybe...luckily his balance is much better when he's prepared.]

[ Balancing game it is! Unfortunately, Kaylee's balance isn't the best, and she gives a few little hops to stop herself from falling over. There's a tentative clicking in the cuffs, but they still don't pop off. ]

[Almost! Billy has another idea---he hops in front of her and locks their free arms together, centering the center of gravity between them. That should be a more stable position, if more awkward.

Come on, this had better work!]

[ Kaylee gives Billy a grin--nothing but good ideas from this kid, it's fantastic--and leans forward just enough to ensure stability.

After a few moments, though, it's clear that just wobbling here isn't doing the trick. She frowns down at the cuffs. ]

...don't want us to dance now, do they?

I...hope not, but if they are, then our mobility options are limited to hopping.

Ready? [He's probably not. Sigh.]

Hoppin' it is.

[ She glances down at their feet. ]

Ready. Three, two, one...

[ Hop!! ]
