☀THE WARM AND TOASTY MEME☀
The situation: It is dreadfully cold. Think 'ice cave where all those slash fics are set'.
The goal: Keep each other warm tonight!

☀ STEP ONE: Comment with your characters. One comment for each character.
☀ STEP TWO: Other people reply to your characters.
☀ STEP THREE: Both participants are aware that they should/must keep nice and warm. To do that, you need to bundle up nice and closely, however grudgingly. No, killing your threadmate and cuddling the body doesn't count.
☀ STEP FOUR: Keep 'em warm! Hot cocoa, hot coffee, hot tea, hot mustard, or other suitably warming beverages will be provided if you cooperate.
☀ STEP FIVE: Lulz ensue!

((Basically just a winter-themed cuddle meme, with evil ideas from Shae and Col. Add some cuddle urges in the air if your characters won't otherwise cooperate but you want them to.))

Hey! [He's about to protest in return, but is too busy trying to fight off another attack of the shivers to really get the words out - well, other than the 'hey'. Before he knows it, he's re-vested with Kaylee snug up against him.] Oh.

[Why didn't he think of that earlier? He shifts position just enough so he can wiggle one arm free and drape as much of the vest over Kaylee as possible before his arm slips around her protectively. It's under the vest too, so she can't protest too much.]

[ Alright, that's not too bad at all. Kaylee nods and curls up tighter, putting an arm over Jamie's so it doesn't get cold. ]

[Better than not too bad, if you ask Jamie, and he smiles at Kaylee.] Aye, I am. Mind ye, I'd not say no to a cup of tea, but...

[They're in the middle of an ice cave. What's it doing to do, magic itself out of thin air?]

As long as we can get ye warmed up so ye can fix that heater, I'll do.

[ And lo and behold, there are suddenly two steaming mugs of tea next to them. Kaylee blinks, then reaches forward with a shrug and hands one to Jamie. ]

Odder 'n odder...

Hey? [Jamie is baffled by the sudden appearance of the tea, but is certainly quick enough to take the mug.]

Aye, that's definitely odd. Why would tea just appear out of nowhere?

[ Kaylee sinks back against him, holding her mug close to help warm up her hands. ]

Not sure I wanna question it. Just glad it's here.

[That is an excellent idea on all fronts, and he curls up against her as best as he can, bringing the tea closer so the heat rising from it can warm both of them up.]

Well, it's not that I mind so much myself, but...if the cave gave us tea to warm ourselves up with, why could ye not get the heater started?

Mysteries of the 'verse, right there. [ She's clearly frustrated with the fact that she couldn't get the gorram thing running, but it's quickly covered over when she takes a sip of tea. A small noise of appreciation escapes her throat. ]

Good stuff, that.

Aye. Or... [He absently takes a sip from his own tea while trying to puzzle it out. It is good enough that it distracts him for a moment, and he makes an agreeable sort of sound before returning to his thoughts.]

Maybe someone or something did it on purpose. Maybe ye were never meant to get the heater to work.

[ That thought is a bit irritating in itself, because normally even things that are rigged expressly so that no one can un-rig them are no problem for her.

Oh well. Better to enjoy the tea--and the company--than sit and fume about something that's out of her hands. ]

[Until then, he will be perfectly content to curl up with Kaylee, sip his tea, and try and distract her from being frustrated over it.]
