No More Secrets Meme

Good evening meatship, I bring you your Friday meme!

No More Secrets

1. All of your character's darkest and most embarrassing secrets, the ones that they have been holding back from the crew, are now common knowledge.

2. Since not everyone knows everyone's canon, comment with your character and a bulleted list of the things they have been holding back from the crew. These can be funny things (that time I ran around with my underwear outside my pants), embarrassing things (Little Black Book-type secrets) or the dark things they never wanted anyone to know.

3. Other characters react to these sudden revelations about your character. Will it change the way people feel about each other?

IMPORTANT: PLEASE POST WARNINGS IN THE SUBJECT LINE IF SOMETHING IN THE COMMENT IS TRIGGERY. This meme has the potential to be a lot more dramatic than our usual fare, and I want to make sure everyone is comfortable.

Muns, have fun! Characters... well, I'm not sure "fun" applies.

Jamie McCrimmon - Death

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2011-01-22 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
- Has been a part of events that have led to the death of more than one person during the course of his travels with the Doctor. While it could be argued that some of them would have still died, it's fairly clear that the Doctor's interference has a distinctly fatal effect on those around him.

- On the flip side, being a part of those same events have saved countless numbers of people from certain death.

- Believes in the Phantom Piper. Clan legend holds that the Piper appears to a McCrimmon just before he is going to die. Jamie thought he saw the Piper once while suffering from a high fever, but it turned out to be a Cyberman instead. As long as the Piper doesn't reappear, Jamie thinks he'll survive the war.

- Nearly managed to re-write history so that Culloden never happened and he never wound up meeting the Doctor. As a result, he started to fade away in front of his own eyes. While this was fixed by the Time Lords, he still remembers what it feels like.

- Has been put under arrest, locked up or otherwise detained more times than he can count.

- Was in love with Victoria when she traveled in the TARDIS, but never admitted it to her, so nothing ever happened. Is not in love with Kaylee, but does have strong feelings for her. He was trying to work up the nerve to say something at the same time she started to get involved with Dean, but couldn't quite go through with it.

- Does have a healthy appreciation for many of the other women on the ship, and enjoyed that situation with the hot tub more than he's letting on - although he felt bad for Billy.

- Has deliberately been holding back his status as a Ranger from the Doctor. Not because he's not proud of his team, but that he's worried what the Doctor's reaction will be.

Hiccup. You don't have to force it.

[Tell me when you're absolutely ready... idiot...]

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
No, I want to, I just--

[He's afraid of what she'll say. He's ready to say it, but is she ready to hear it? Still, he's trained a dragon, and fought a giant one, he's fought space alien bug-monsters--if he could do all those things, he can say this one thing, right?]

[deep breath]

You are more than just a friend to me, and you're more than just some girl I date. Sometimes, you know, sometimes people take a fancy to someone and it doesn't work out and they marry someone else--it happens. And they have a good time in the meantime, right, before they move on? But sometimes they--they have that thing that someone catches their eye and--and from that moment on, they're pretty much gone. And then they go on and get married and have kids and that also happens. Or they go on and the person doesn't love them back and they're just doomed. All those different things happened all the time back home, right?

And I think I'm the kind of person that's--that's pretty much gone. You were my friend and then you weren't, and you are again, and you're just--

In my eyes, I had this picture of you, but it was more a picture than who you were, but now I've seen who you are instead, and--and I like that even better. Even with all the little...quirks, and things that are--actually, some of them can be pretty aggravating sometimes, but I think we do that to each other.

[he waves his hands, as if dismissing that thought]

My point is that eight months in really extreme circumstances is a long time to have to figure out how you feel about someone, and I've shared the same bed with you every night since we got here, and even though I'm not ready to jump into that, you know, tomorrow, I'm starting to have these...thoughts that maybe I want you to be the person that...that I always share that bed with. Those thoughts are starting, that I might want to start considering...that, that I'm starting to feel--to feel that way about you.

And I'm terrified because, like I said, if you don't feel the same way--I think I might be one of those people that's just...doomed.

[It is not your fault. In...in the end, I am glad to know that.]

It's finding a place to hide the pervy drawings and dirty sex poems where the girlfriend won't find them that's the real trick. Or anyone else, for that matter. I just stashed mine in the Geno's cockpit.

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
I usually keep it in my vest pocket so that someone typically has to at least take it from me.

[:|]

You could probably get away with it when I'm not around. S'not like I have X-ray vision or anything.

[PERV ALERT! TOTAL LIE REGISTERED!]

- Sherry's parents are not Leon and Claire, no matter how much she wants them to be. Her parents are William and Annette Birkin. They were evil virologists who loved their work, and loved their daughter, but ultimately chose their work over her.

- Sometimes Sherry worries that, because she is smart and likes science, she is going to turn out exactly like them.

- She was infected with the G-virus by her father, who chased her through a police station full of zombies for about a day and a half. Then, briefly, she was chased by Claire and her monster of a father through the police station at the same time. Sherry was ultimately cured with the DEVIL vaccine, but is under strict orders to never give blood. She carries antibodies now.

- Sherry is almost positive that she is going to have nightmares for the rest of her life, no matter how much she tries to grow past Raccoon City. These nightmares regularly feature being chased down and torn apart.

- Sherry pretty much loves Kon like a kid sister. She will never tell him this, and figures he already knows. If anyone were ever to hurt him, Sherry will find a way to hurt them.

No, Kon does not get a say in this.

- She met the Faun, knows he is dying, and cannot get the nerve up to do his requests and find his treasure.

- She hates being left by herself for more than a few hours at a time, despite the fact she also doesn't like most of the crew.

- A little part of her wishes that she could be like Kon, too. At least then she'd be useful.

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
Sooo I should just go hide myself in a hole somewhere rather than shame my people by being seen in the light of day, huh?

[identity profile] riseupnchargem.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
That would've worked if I'd been even marginally physically intimidating. I think the Geno at least made people hesitate a little.

[identity profile] so-pregnable.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
You're not going to be like them.

And I know you do.

And I'm about as useful as a battering ram. You'll find something you can do and it'll be just as important. Everything everyone does is important.

[:3c]

I'm so glad you lost those glasses.

Anyway, there's no sun, so what would the point of sunbathing be?

[identity profile] in-venting.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 11:37 am (UTC)(link)
You don't know I'm not, though. What if my brain just switches to "Tiny Evil Scientist" mode one day and all I do is make evil biological monsters that do nothing but hurt people? For fun.

You do not, I haven't told you. [ARMCROSS OF SRS]

I'm just a child. You tell me what it is that I can do that is important, because I don't see it.

[identity profile] astridhofferson.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Aw, you tl;dr idiot. Just incapable of condensing your words, huh?]

Don't.

[He's not doomed. Look, she's smiling so happily and clasping his fidgety hands together out between them, shaking her head with a laugh. What can she say to that?]

You're truly the best boyfriend I could ask for. Truly.

So, how would I not feel the same way?

[identity profile] so-pregnable.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
Speaking on someone whose brain actually has an evil mode to flip to, it doesn't work like that. There's a part of you that's you, and will always be you, and when you grow up, it'll still be you, even if the parts on the edges change a little. If you ever do bad things, it'll be a conscious choice, and like all choices, that means you get to decide it. You can just...always choose not to be that way. So just always choose not to be that way.

And you're a child that's going to grow up into a grown up, and learn stuff, and use your brain for stuff, and you'll be one of those people that figures out how to cure me of an alien virus so I can go punch Ohm in the faceplate or figures out the best places to point me at to go punch them, or you'll learn to fight, or you'll make weapons, or you'll teach other kids stuff, or you'll find something that helps the people here, just like everyone else. Right now, you're growing up into that grown up, and that's important. We're gonna be doin' this for a while, kiddo, that's already kinda clear, and you'll already start hitting Useful-Land in your teen years, most likely.

1. She was the crowned princess of an entire planet. She ran away from home and eventually joined the Legion of Superheroes. She briefly retired on her father's orders, then abdicated in favor of her younger brother when she heard that her best friend was in danger.
2. Her father was convinced that she was in love with her best friend. He almost (although reluctantly) gave them his approval to date, fortunately Reep's real girlfriend was nearby and Jeka was able to introduce her as such.
3. The last Jeka remembers seeing of her team, they were all falling through the Bleed together with her. She hopes that means that they're all on board.
4. She used to simply look like an enormous snake. She got caught in an energy blast that caused her DNA to begin to unravel, and her friends had to ask the villain who caused the blast to save her life. He had to splice in some human DNA to do so, which is why she looks the way she does now.
5. She utterly loathes the way she looks now.
6. Prior to the whole "DNA unraveling" incident, she was a hell of a lot nicer to people.
7. She's ashamed of the above, because something similar happened to her other best friend, Candi; and yet Candi was one of the sweetest, loveliest people she's ever met.
8. She once almost killed (or at least seriously messed up) most of the Legion while she was unconscious and injured.
9. She is constantly doing a low-level empathy reading of everyone around her. She began doing this so that she'd have a constant reminder that other sentients were in fact their own beings and that she shouldn't mess with them for no reason.
10. In addition to her team, she hopes that her brother and father are in the Pod Caverns somewhere, as well as her mother who died when she was thirteen.
11. When she was trying out for the Legion, Jeka made an entire crowd of thousands people think that she was a humanoid because she was secretly worried they wouldn't let her in otherwise. This didn't even make her break a sweat.
12. She may or may not still be strictly carnivorous. She hasn't checked.
13. The first official Legion mission Jeka went on, she was knocked out briefly by a guy's tongue.
14. Robots were eventually declared to be sentient beings during her time with the Legion. She is really uncomfortable about the fact that she killed/destroyed robots prior to that.

Oh, wow, that is the biggest relief--that is--

[he laughs and takes her hands.]

...I talk too much, don't I.

[Firm nod.]

Well, one of us should.

Be happy I like your voice.

- Has extreme guilt that she survived the crash of the Exodar, and her family apparently did not... this was then coupled with the fact that Azeroth and Draenor were both totally destroyed by the Ohm and she could not stop it.

- She has the biggest, most ridiculous crush on her banker in Shattrath. His name is ImageMendorn (http://www.wowwiki.com/index.php?title=Mendorn&image=Mendorn-jpg) and he has an eyepatch. She has dropped gems just to watch him pick them up. She thinks he is the sexiest thing on two hooves.

- Nehaalista is engaged on a pure technicality. In the event she finds no suitable mate (and this is a high possibility), she was to marry her fellow and long time partner Vindicator Kinase. Despite the fact he prefers men.

- Sometimes, despite being pro-Draenei relations, she finds human men attractive. Then she feels kind of dirty.

- ...can tie a berry stem in a knot. Did not get why that was such an amazing thing to her fellow initiates.

- Still does not get it.

- Nehaalista thinks she might be sexually repressed and feels that, while in Fairplay as a human, she might've liked what she did a little too much.

Contrary to popular belief, I'm no slouch in the brains department.

[kneels and takes her by the hands.]

You have time to be a kid. Maybe not the best childhood you could ask for, with bugs and monsters and scary stuff, but for the most part, people are trying to let you still be a kid for the time you've got.

Take it from someone who never had a childhood: you're not missing out by not just zipping to adulthood.

When you do get there, you're gonna be nothing like your parents, unless they had any good stuff about them, in which case, you might be that, but only that and not the bad stuff.

[pulls her into a giant, strong, safe, brotherly hug that's pretty much all biceps]

And I love you too, kiddo. I'm proud of how brave you've been with all the scary stuff. Whatever happens with the war, I'm glad I met you.

[He doesn't say that to many people, but his little sis? He can make an exception for her.]

1. He begins copying the brain patterns of anyone who wears him as a suit of armor. His personality also begins to bleed over into theirs. The very first thing that bleeds over are his feelings for Cassie.
2. He was worn briefly by Kang the Conqueror (AKA Nate Richards' future self) after the Vision programming was downloaded into the armor. There is a part of him that is an evil world-conquering crazy-pants murderer.
3. He loves the Beatles.
4. He would literally give anything to have Cassie back alive again.
5. Talking to Wanda is super-awkward because he has the memory files of the original Vision. He knows everything the original knew, including what Wanda looks like naked and sexy.
6. He has only barely restrained himself from pummeling the various incarnations of Iron Man that have come out of the Pod Caverns. Barely.
7. He strongly dislikes all of the Pro-Registration heroes, not just because of their policies and because they threw one of his friends in what was essentially Azkaban prison, but because they cannot seem to be bothered to keep track of Cassie Lang even when she turned to their side.
8. He feels terrible about Kawalsky's death, but he'd kill Shiva again in a heartbeat. He also feels bad about that.
9. That red diamond on his chest? That is in fact a hole in his uniform. He put it there to try to get attention from Cassie.
10. He has never sneaked into Cassie's room to watch her sleep. All of his stalking took place while she was conscious. A guy has got to have standards.
