"It was odd trying to balance myself in trees, being so top-heavy." He closed the book slightly but didn't look up, in the case that Blilly was still changing. "And drowning in clothing. Completely inefficient for someone with my skill set, though the clothes rustled amazingly."

"Since I wasn't actually her I still had my pathetic strength in comparison, even if I retained most of my agility. And I so wanted to punch a hole through a wall, too," the elf lamented.

"But we looked just alike; most of the non-magical members of the family couldn't tell us apart unless they asked me something only she would know. It's easy enough to mimic anyone's mannerisms when you watch them long enough."

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-02 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy ducked his head a little, imagining Ronnie like that. "That's really remarkable. I'm sure you were excellent at it, given how much attention you pay to her."

He noticed Nokosi averting his eyes and shook his head. "You can look, I'm decent."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-02 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'd like to think so. People watching is a hobby, after all." Nokosi raised his head and smiled earnestly at the 'woman' near him.

"It was very fun in the least; acting in a way that is completely opposite of how I normally am. I can see the appeal from that perspective."

Nokosi folded his now-dainty hands over each other on top of the book, "Though with my outlook on life, I think if I were stuck as a woman, I would be considered a nosy, cold-hearted, ditz." He laughed but it came out as light and musical compared to the usual deep sound.
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-02 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy shrugged, stretching his slender arms over his head. "I can see the appeal. If we could safely reverse the effect whenever we wanted to, I might even consider experimenting."

Did Nokosi really see it that way? "There are plenty of people who match that description," Billy pointed out, listening to the odd-sounding laugh (though his own was just as odd now). "If anything, I'd likely be considered the impossible-to-talk-to and homely nerd."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-02 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"There are! Very hard to talk to, though. I have fun being me- there's just something to say about a woman who never seems like they care either way. From what I've observed, it's taken very differently when based on gender."

"No one cares if a man comes off as impassive. But suddenly you're a 'cold-hearted, thoughtless, bitch', when you're a woman." He shrugged. It was safe to assume he probably overheard that in Stormwind, too.

"It's odd, but I suppose it also has to do with cultural differences. No one would bat an eye if a Night Elven woman was like that on Teldrassil. Very different for Humans, Gnomes and Worgen."

"But," he folded his legs underneath him on the bed and cradled his hands between them. "I don't think you give yourself enough credit. I think you would be less impossible to talk to and more 'charmingly awkward', like you usually are. Leagues away from being homely, though I have no idea what a 'nerd' is."
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-02 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy frowned, having noticed the discrepancy himself. "The expectations we place on each other are the same on Earth, unfortunately. It may change in the future, but we're remarkably resistant to adjusting our attitudes."

He pulled his knees up to his chest, deep in thought. "Am I really...you're much more attractive than I am. As a woman, I mean," he stammered out. "You have all the desirable curves."

But maybe that wasn't everything. "A nerd is someone who is socially excluded for a number of reasons. We tend to be excessively interested in the sciences, especially machinery. Because of that, we aren't the best at interacting with other people. That social awkwardness creates a rift between a nerd and the rest of the community, especially if they speak using complex words."

Like he did for many, many years. And still does.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-02 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh? Maybe I should stay a woman, then," he joked. "Night Elves were blessed with grace, power and beauty a very long time ago when we first discovered the Well of Eternity. Our goddess Elune, too, blessed us with many things. Our women are known around the world for their fierceness and physical beauty, and our men for their strength and feral, yet handsome appearance. Blood Elves are much of the same," he explained.

"Though..." he looked away, scratching his cheek in...what almost could pass as embarrassment. "Obviously I don't really fit all of that bill, being as sickly as I used to be." Nokosi raised his hand up over his head to illustrate, "I barely reach past six feet. The average height for Night Elf males is 7 feet, plus."

"I find your explanation odd, though. Why anyone exclude one for being particularly smart is beyond me. You would think they would revere them."

"And I still would not consider you unattractive," he added. "Perhaps beauty to your people is just very different from mine."
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-02 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy raised an eyebrow. "I see. It's definitely a persuasive argument if the difficulties of adjustment are worth bearing."

He shrugged, still feeling that Nokosi had a lot going for him. "I don't think anyone here would consider you sickly. You're still powerful-looking, and in the tall range of humans."

Folding his arms, he leaned against the wall and sighed. Ah, the life of a nerd. It was always a pleasant thing to remember. "We value physical strength and social ability far more than intelligence. It's simply the way our culture has developed."

And he would just blush and ignore the last comment. It wasn't his true body anyway, so it didn't really matter.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
He furrowed his eyebrows and laughed. "It was...actually a joke, Billy. But I suppose you also have a point."

Perhaps he'd chosen the wrong term to describe what he'd meant. Really, there was nothing wrong with being so short; he actually preferred it.

"I suppose I do look that way to those who have never seen any example of my people. But I wasn't speaking in a manner of appearance. I am sickly, physically. I use alchemy and my skill-set as a Hunter to get around most of my limitations." Nokosi laughed lightly, "I'm sure you did not look, but it is what the tattoos scattered across my body are for."
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-03 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy pulled back at his hair, wishing he had another strip to tie that too.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I should have known. I might have seen one tattoo, but..."

Wait. He paused. There was an answer here, considering what he'd seen on Ronnie's thigh on a night when they got frisky.

"How do your tattoos work?"

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Guh. Apologies. Why did people always apologize for something they had no control about? Logically it was silly.

"You shouldn't have to apologize. There's no way you would have known unless Ronnae told you."

Nokosi pulled up his shirt to right beneath his breasts. "They're almost all on my front," he murmured, pointing to a red-inked snake curled around his navel. The right wing of some bird was just above it, but it appeared to disappear beneath the clothing.

"Mine are based off the blessings of certain creatures of the forest who I trained under for an extended period of time. Aspects, they're called."
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-03 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy blushed, as he always did, but he managed to look in that direction long enough to observe the tattoos.

"Aspects," he repeated. "So are those trainers the only ones who can make the marks on you?"

And if so, who had marked Ronnie? Maybe he'd ask someday.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"No. The one who actually did them was...well I'm not too sure what she was. I'll say she was a guardian of nature, I suppose. It's the only way I can describe her." He lowered his shirt and turned to look at Billy.

"I don't think most hunters bother getting them, as plenty can call on the Aspects by will alone. There are a lot of other types of tattoos, though. Many magical in nature."

Nokosi smiled gently and shook his head, "I always worry that Ronnae and you are going to faint someday from blushing so much," he said, completely off topic.

"But anyways." He undid one of the ties on his braids and climbed behind Billy. Once he'd settled down, he ran his hands through the teen's hair and began pulling it up in an attempt to give him a ponytail.

"The one on my eyes gives me unerring sight of my enemies. The Olivera family gave me one as well, though I don't make much use of it."
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-03 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy nodded. That made sense enough, and he supposed his curiosity was sated enough for the time being. "So it was probably magical..." he muttered.

That just prompted him to make a noise of protest. "It's not that frequent, is it? It's a small amount of the overall blood in circulation, so I believe we'll be fine. Embarrassment isn't fatal."

It just...exists, he thought, feeling it again at the sensation of Nokosi's hands in his hair. He'd liked his hair played with in his own body, but longer hair added to the possibilities. It was at mid-back now, more than enough to be annoying, but Ronnie would probably know what to do with it.

"What does that one do?"

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
He giggled at Billy's response; a sound that caught him more off-guard than than any of the changes thus far. "Billy..."

Nokosi popped his head over the man's shoulder and glanced at him, his face a picture of amusement. "It was a joke, you know. You're just as bad as me with taking everything very literal, aren't you? It's very frequent," the hunter added with a laugh before moving back.

"That one is a contraceptive." He separated the boy's long hair in three sections before he began braiding it in an elaborate fashion. "Most Azerothians use animal stomachs, herbal teas and other herbal concoctions. Much like most of the spells created by those who use them, this is far more convenient."
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-03 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"I know. That's how I tend to respond to jokes," he answered, sparing a small smile for Nokosi. "It drives my friends up a wall."

Billy closed his eyes as the other man braided his new hair, wondering what the finished product would look like. This was definitely different---there was a reason he kept his hair short.

"Contraceptive tattoos would've been a big step toward solving my world's problem in that area," he commented. "We had a number of mechanical and chemical methods, all with varying effectiveness rates. Here, the solution seems to be an injection. I'm not looking forward to that."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mm. Azeroth's the opposite. With all the wars even the long lived races are having children more frequently."

After he'd finished braiding his hair, he coiled the thick rope of hair around itself at the back of his head. Holding the hair there, he plucked the tie from his lap and wrapped it around the bun a few times before securing it in place with a small bow.

"Solving it with something mechanical seems....painful. Injection does not seem too terrible if you're not scared of shots, though I'm not sure I want to know what's in the injection." He observed his work and satisfied, he clambered back to the side of the bed.

"You shouldn't have to worry, though; Ronnae has one on her thigh. I've been told it's a bit of a 'coming to age' tradition for that household."
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-03 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"We were at the point of overpopulation, so the trend was to have less children."

When Nokosi pulled back, Billy turned his head toward the mirror to have a look. It was...cute. "Where did you learn to fix hair?" The man probably sorted his own routinely, but more elaborate routines were usually done to someone else.

"Shots just make me uncomfortable, but it seems that I'm the only one who will need one." He winced, rubbing his arm. "I know it's foolish, considering how many times I've been sliced open by far more threatening implements, but the anticipation eventually gets to you."

Well, there was his answer. "So that's what it was," Billy said to himself with a blush, not quite as quietly as he should have.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Dryads," he said simply. "Protectors and creatures of nature; they are a very friendly sort, especially if you revere nature as they do. They are like..." He rolled his hands, attempting to find a good explanation.

"Stags with the upper half of a Night Elf. I do not know if Cenarius was once a Night Elf himself, but they are his 'children'."

He tugged on one of his piercing-laden ears, "I do not have a problem with being pierced by sharp objects, but if you're not used to such things, I can see how it might be unnerving." Anticipation was key in being excited for something and dreading it, but he couldn't quite relate to being stabbed with a needle as a painful procedure.

"That's what...?" Nokosi began to ask, but stopped, realizing what it was Billy was referring to.

"Then you have seen it, yes?" He figured he might have, but opening his mouth about everything he knew was never the best of ideas. "The gear-heart symbol is very fitting for her; everyone has their own personal design for it. From what I've been told, it's very effective," he said assuredly, as if Billy had even worried about the potency.
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

...sorry, this notif never came!

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-05 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Billy could understand that well enough. He nodded, still embarrassed by what he'd just opened his mouth and confirmed.

"That's good to know. And...yes, I noticed the gear-heart. It's exactly the sort of image I associate with her."

He fussed with his clothing then, the implications of all of this starting to sink in. "If I'm going to remain in this form, I'll need more effective protection. I'm still hopeful that it's reversible, of course, and that should be a last resort, but I've been taught to always prepare for the worst."

He jumped up, pacing around the room. "It's definitely an educational experience, but not one that I wish to be permanent."

Don't sweat it!

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-05 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Effective...protection...? For what, he wondered. At least if they were stuck this way he knew that Ronnae would be understanding.

"Very true; it is a wise thing to be prepared."

His eyes strayed back and forth as he watched the man pace. Nokosi supposed Billy could have something to worry about, as many people as he would have to explain this to if it were a permanent thing. Fontaine and Nehaalista would get over it fairly quickly, he rationalized.

"Seeing everything in a opportunistic light is definitely an interesting trait. But what knowledge is it that you plan to glean that you have not already learned from any other woman?"
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-05 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Billy paused, a hand drifting to rest over his new breast.

"Largely sensory information that can't be directly translated," he answered finally, fidgeting a little. "We can describe how certain actions and sensations feel, but...for instance, no act in the world can simulate the experience of having breasts."

Oh yes. He found himself looking down at his, wishing they were a little bigger for research purposes---but hey, he couldn't have everything in life.

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-03-05 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Ronnae blinked at the scene, wondering who had just wondered, and was currently wearing HER clothes?! "Ummm excuse me?" She asked a bit timidly, but had an edge of annoyance, an eyebrow raised and her arms crossed.

She sighed looking around her room before turning back to them. "Can I help you?? You could have asked if you needed clothing." She asked a bit more calmly moving timidly closer.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-03-05 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
His ears perked up at the familiar voice and a smile curled on his lips.

"Hi Ronnae!" He waved a delicate hand in her direction. "Well, we kind of had to or else Billy and I would be standing here naked. Sure I don't mind, but he's shy about that type of thing. In the end it was for the best, right?"

Nokosi glanced over at Billy. The man had been looking down at his newly acquired breasts when Ronnae spoke up. That was probably going to look incriminating.
morphitudinous: (Now female for some reason)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-03-05 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
...that voice. Billy's examination of his altered anatomy stopped abruptly, ending in him looking up and folding his hands behind his back. Great. Wonderful. Ronnie just had to come and see him like this.

"I'm sorry, Ronnie. We'll have this fixed and be out of your way soon!" Oh, Billy wanted to die from embarrassment. His cheeks were completely red.
