if you had wings...

Don't you wish you could fly?

Uh, well...about that. Now you can! See, for some reason, Stacy / GLaDOS / a wizard thought it would a real hoot to curse (bless?) you and now you've sprouted wings! It doesn't matter if your species would look silly with wings, you're a book, you can already fly without them, or whatever else. Too bad, you're stuck with them!

- Post the wing type you got saddled with---choose one on your own, use a RNG to choose, or leave it up to your partner! Your partner can feel free to have wings too.
- Characters who already have wings can have them modified in some way: if they can only glide, they're now capable of flight, or they can spout glitter and rainbows upon flapping. OR you can add an appendage of your choice---horn? Tail? Tentacle? Go wild.
- React, laugh, and have fun!

Wing Types:
01. Fluffy Angel Wings - The typical type you probably think of when 'wings' come to mind - you're all fluffy and downy like a Cherub - not to mention...these are very sensitive to touch...
02. Black Wings - they're beautiful, but seem a little off - and they stick out like a sore thumb!
03. Filligree Wings - very slight, very delicate and very beautiful - these are like filmy gauze attached to your skin and the most managable - if you like spider webs.
04. Fairy Wings - two sets, lucky you, you look just like a butterfly, and man are they strong - but it's hard to get them all folded up right, isn't it?
05. Devil Wings - you're like some overgrown bat - maybe you should be the one avoiding public the most for now, these might poke someone in the eye!
06. Your choice! You don't have to choose any of these, as far as your imagination goes is fine. And if there's a wing type in your canon that makes more sense, go for it!

"I'll hope that you're right," Billy sighed, glancing down at the ground. At her next words, though, he looked up and around.

"True, he'd have something to say about this. Are you saying that you want to play, Kaya?"

Billy's wings flapped playfully, carrying him a short distance away from her. He was finally starting to feel more confident in their use.

Why was Billy blushing, if wings were apparently the new norm for the two of them? He had no clue, but his wings unconsciously shifted toward Ronnae, as if to touch her.

"I don't know. I was on my way back from lunch break when it happened---I felt a flash of heat, then pressure in my back, and now this," he sighed, shrugging the coat off completely. He felt oddly vulnerable, having felt just how delicate his wings were.

"I definitely didn't want to linger long enough to get caught or see others. I threw the coat over in the hopes of protecting them from damage. They don't look nearly as sturdy as yours, and in that lab that could be a real problem."

Oh, Billy. Always looking toward the problems.

"I am thinking," she kept wanting to duck away from the things flailing behind her head, but couldn't get away from them, "that Stacy has decided to give me the wings of a certain deity, the Swift Death. And that I hope she has not given me the power to carry off peoples' souls and reunite them with their gods. Because that would be a very rude thing to do to someone who has not sworn an oath to the Swift Death."

She actually managed to get her left wings to row, rather than flutter, and turned to face Starfire. Progress!

"It would be even ruder to do it while they were still alive."

"I usually just try flexing them, but I'll admit that I only have two, not as many as you have. Still, I bet you can fly a lot higher than I can, so that's a good thing, right?"

She watched her trying to steer, then flew down toward her. "I usually just trying detecting the currents in the air. I don't go too high if I feel there's very little flow."

Starfire lifted from the roof, her own wings spreading as if they were going to help her fly. How they could help, she didn't yet know, but she would instead focus on her partner.

"You have a natural gift! Oh, it is always a joy when one of my people takes their first flight," she squealed, calling up the ritual in memory. "Come, let us see our surroundings!

She started off for the rest of the City at an easy pace, never straying far from him should she be needed.

Kaya started. "Actually, yes! That sounds like a fun idea! We could race, or even show Ronnae! Did you have something in mind?"

Nokosi was a very bad influence on a normally very responsible girl.

Starfire was relieved to see the progress, yes, but more worried about what could happen.

"Would you be able to control that power if such a thing were to happen?"

"I'm not sure," Billy wondered aloud, tapping his chin in thought. Maybe...hmm. "We could play..." He floated up, closer to her, as if to take her hand---then tapped it, dipping away with all the haste his wings could muster.

"Tag!"

"But it's so cute! Totally fittin' I think~" Ronnie said with a sweet smile, lightly running a finger down one of them.

"Jus' think! All the research we can do while sportin' these!" An excited squeal as Ronnae bounced up and down lightly, her wings spreading and closing with the action.

He chuckled, always having enjoyed her cheerful company. "I jus' think of it like a flight sim. Then just adapt my knowledge of aerodynamics and viola. Instant pro flyer!" Not to mention he was completely controlling his flight through psionics, but that would make it sound less interesting!

He followed at a pleasant face, making sure to smile at her whenever he caught sight of her eyes. A warm expression for a wonderful gal right?

"Hey!" Billy yelped in an unusually high-pitched voice, shivering at her touch. It would feel soft, almost silky. The wings themselves reached out to embrace her as best they could, tickling her wings in the process.

Lying together was going to be really complicated, wasn't it?

"We'll need to widen the space in the lab," he started, "and I'll need to get more proficient at folding them out of the way. But it's true, there are new options available to us..."

His eyes sparkled with the possibilities.

Starfire dipped, bobbed, and glided under and over him, happy to see him take to the skies so well.

"On my planet, this would be cause for a big celebration. The first flight is one of our happiest traditions," she cheered, flying over to kiss his cheek. Well, that was one part of it.

Kaya giggled. "Ooh, you're going to get it NOW, Billy Cranston!"

And she is off after him, not as fast she hoped on wings like these, but just enough to give a good chase.

Billy grinned cheekily, doing a loop and drifting off to one side---time to put on some speed, give a bit of a chase. "What will I get?"

Oh, nice Billy, but you're forgetting these wings are coming as naturally as walking or breathing. Kaya matches the loop with two, and put on some speed.

"I'll figure that out when I get you, trust me!"

"Then I'd better run---or no, fly's the more accurate word," he yelled breathlessly, zooming across the field. He turned this way and that, soon predictable enough to be caught. Any time now, though he tried hard.

"They're not very large," she said doubtfully. She tried flexing one closer to her face, and then stopped because the three/four wingstroke made her list alarmingly. "I don't think the number of them matters."

It was magic. She just knew it. Here she'd been squinting and looking away and trying to ignore the face that she was surrounded by people who broke every law of physics just by existing, and...and...and she got magic wings. Stuck on her.

She tried slowing her beats, feeling for the air currents. She spread out her arms and legs, trying to detect the wind with her fingertips - not easy, with the miniature hurricane affixed to her back.

And taking off the plantsuit would probably get someone annoyed with her.

"...How, exactly?" Clearly these wings were white, and he only wore black. And white was the opposite of black I mean come on duh.

"I don't think I have any such power. I've never heard of the Swift Death possessing anyone. And I don't have any sort of feeling that I could touch a soul. And if I could, I should know where everyone's soul is supposed to go, and I don't feel anything like that.

It would probably not be prudent to mention the tentative causal relationship between the Swift Death and spontaneous combustion. It had never been proven. And besides, people just explode sometimes.

She closed her eyes and concentrated, but didn't feel anything.

"Maybe this is just Stacy's idea of a joke, then."

Zouichi paused. "I could anesthetize you first," he offered, making a swift, controlled chopping motion with one hand.

"Or," he added, more reluctantly, "I suppose you could head to Medical."

The color drains out of Shoutarou's face at that thought, and his wings droop as well. "Um... I think Medical is the best idea, yes."

"What about flight?" She asked with that explorer's gleam in her eyes.

"It sounds like it'd be amazing, I mean, I've flown in my devices before but wings?! Never! It sounds like it'd be so much fun to try out!" A small excited look on her features appeared as her own wings flexed and spread out, slowly coming around him in an embrace. She gave him a mischievous playful little smirk as she leaned up and gave him a peck on the lips.

"Oh? Then count this as our celebration yeah?" he held her hands gently, spinning them in the air in an acrobatic move and leaning in to kiss her cheek as well, a smile on his lips as he eyed her over his shades.

Kaya gave Billy a head start. There was no reason to go rushing and end the game so soon. Besides, she liked seeing how he had adjusted to his wings already, starting to use teh strange new muscles he only recently acquired.

"I'm coming for you!" She warned, charging forward.

"I figured they would just be harder to handle," Kaya said, and flexed her own. "Two for me are hard enough, because you have to flap them just so, so you stay in balance and so you keep the rest of your body flexible so you an get higher."

She demonstrated, letting her wings do the work. In a way, the wings knew when to use the currents in the air, you just had to judge when they were about. Somehow you could sense then the air around was too heavy, that using the wings would just be too arduous in that particular place.

"Would it be easier if you kept your arms and legs down?"
