Oh, no, the ship has been flooded with a mind-altering contaminant brought aboard from some on-planet mission! (Good going, Crewman Redshirt. You'll see that in your pay this month.)

This contaminant has the effect of bringing to the fore the screeching, unreasonable, most likely highly embarrassing Id of everyone on board! Or maybe it just reverses your personality. How terrible and bad!

Feel free to be as hideous as you like. Or just giggle and make flower wreaths for each other. Or have silly slapfights with your friends oops sorry kirk.

"I've been getting to know my machines more intimately," Billy boasted, lovingly twisting all the wires together. They were coming along wonderfully. "There was so much that I neglected before---and I most certainly won't anymore!"

With that, he made one more tie of triumph and stretched against the desk. He was feeling pretty good. "I think they'll love their new batteries. I think you're starting to really get it, Miss...?"

That earns him a giggle of amusement. In more ways than one, really...

But she offered a hand, and grinned, shoving her glasses up her nose. "You can call me Stephanie. Stephanie Valkonan."

And cue the beaming grin. His cousin Carolyn would be so proud.

"Stephanie..." Billy stated as slowly as he could, as if eying her for the first time like a machine. Outfit, heels...each part fits, but something about the greater whole.

"You've shown yourself to be really talented. Almost as much as another coworker. His name is Stephen."

"Oooh, flatterer!" Though that was accompanied by yet another giggle. Apparently Billy didn't get it, and Stephanie was not about to give the game up yet.

"Do you really think so?" She blushed.

"I know so," Billy agreed, taking a closer look. "You have his features...are you sure you're not twins?"

'Stephanie', of course, seemed appealing to him. The voice was slightly...strange, but that was all right. With his gear-crazed mind, nothing but the bolts seemed clear today.

"You're excellent at this, of course," he grinned,carefully making a few more repairs.
