A Visit from the Magical Snow Fairy

This comm has been quiet for TOO LONG.

The ship is now full of snow. Seriously. It's in the hallways. It's in your bedroom. It's all over the mess hall, the sensoriums, and of course the city. How did it get here? WHO KNOWS! It's just everywhere snow should be and then a whole lot more.

NOW DEAL WITH IT!

Lying had never occurred to him. It was a part of the Greater Good that went unmentioned. But with that question, Kais was sure that Jorge wasn't part of the Imperium. The would know Tau on sight. Or so Kais thought.

"Among the many races in the galaxy, I have not been taught about any Covenant. I am part of the Tau Empire. You...are not a Space Marine?"

Not know the Covenant? That was impossible.

"Me? I'm no Marine. UNSC Naval Ground Forces." He was getting a bit suspicious.

"I see." Kais stepped forward, leaving hoof shaped footprints in the snow. He tried his best to make sure his movements weren't threatening but he was fairly scared and it showed. He offered up one of his four fingered hands in a gesture he knew the humans called a 'handshake'.

"I am no member of the Water caste but we are all taught to treat those who are uninformed of our presence with respect."

Jorge doesn't move, the snow collecting more and more on top of him, blasted stuff...

He eyes the hand from under his visor. Yep, four fingers meant alien...

Jorge reaches his own hand out to shake the other's, hesitant. His grip is strong, but Jorge shows some restraint in not inadvertantly crushing the other's hand.

"I guess that's something to be thankful for. Means you won't shoot me from behind."

He shook his head. Of course he wouldn't do that unless the were combatants on opposite sides. If he knew Jorge was holding back on his grip, he'd be thankful, nonetheless.

"We are not enemies so I do not see why we would need to fight."

"The aliens I've met in the past are more of the religious zealot type. They'd kill me on sight."

He shrugs. "Guess I'm still used to that. Sorry."

"I could say the same thing about humans." The Imperial Cult was very well known. "But there are a few who have put aside their religion to work with us."

"Humans? Being religious zealots?" There were quite a few instances in the past...

"Not from where I'm from."

"Our locations are different then." That much seemed obvious to Kais, especially with all the differences between the two.
