A Visit from the Magical Snow Fairy

This comm has been quiet for TOO LONG.

The ship is now full of snow. Seriously. It's in the hallways. It's in your bedroom. It's all over the mess hall, the sensoriums, and of course the city. How did it get here? WHO KNOWS! It's just everywhere snow should be and then a whole lot more.

Alanna nodded. That would do well enough for now, she supposed, although it still made her a bit uncomfortable. She'd keep an eye out for anyone looking for coats just in case. If they'd come from nearby, then presumably if the coats had owners, they too would be nearby. "I think that would be a good idea. Thank you, Cedric."

She listened carefully as Cedric explained the way his magic worked and the demonstration was interesting on top of actually being useful (Always a bonus in Alanna's eyes.). In some ways, his magic wasn't that different from hers. The reliance on will still appeared to play a role to varying degrees and spells played an important role in both forms a magic. On top of that, even though she'd never used a wand as Cedric did, she'd used her sword to channel her magic when casting. "That makes sense. I don't use a wand and I don't know any mages who do, but using items to channel magic is common enough. I typically use my sword for that purpose."

Cedric liked that idea. "So it has a dual purpose. Your channeling instrument can help you fight, even if your magic fails. I wish that was possible for us."

Given recent events, he definitely needed more training in weapons. "Were you fighting often?"

"It's more that my weapon can function as a channeling instrument," she corrected with a soft laugh. "I can use my magic to help me in a battle, but I tend to rely more on my fighting skills."

The Lioness nodded a bit more gravely. "Often enough. Bandits are not uncommon and my kingdom went through a very rough period..." How could she explain what had happened? She decided against trying for now. It was complicated and she didn't want to disrupt this pleasant moment with her own more dire thoughts. "I serve my king and kingdom's interests, which can often mean fighting although not always fortunately.

"I need to learn," he confirmed for himself. There would be no use in continuing if he had to completely rely on magic. "You studied swordplay, then?"
