Rose arched a brow and gave a single eye'd stare down to the booted feet which stood above her sand covered six pack.

He looked down at the six pack, grabbed one, and placed the rest next to her as he popped the top.
"Thanks fer offerin'." He said with a wry smile as he took a gulp.

"You always take before asking?"

She tipped the beer back and gulped down half of it in a long swallow. Sitting down on the sand and leaning back on her elbows. Eying the pale guy with that lone sparkling blue eye.
"You need sunblock?"

and profanity ensues
She smiled broadly as he seemed to share her sentiments, a smile that turned quickly to a frown, and that to something less socially acceptable.
"Who the fuck are you?" She hurled the half empty beer at him. "I don't need another fucking lecture from the morality squad ok? I do just fine on m y own so you can just job on back to Cassie and Conner and play happy fucking family with them. Because I don't need their approval. I don't need anyone's."
Re: and profanity ensues
"Chill, lady. Me and Kon were tight, but I ain't blondie's biggest fan ever, and I ain't got no sense o' morality. Didn't realize you had run-ins with Birdboy or Amazon Barbie. That's the reaction they get a lot." He takes another swig from his own beer, while still offering hers back. "They got on my bad side because they disagreed with my hobbies. Break ONE guy outta death row fer a friend and yer the BADGUY." He shook his head.
"Seriously, I ain't against ya. And yer beer is gettin' warm."

"Whassamatter, bright eyes? Never seen an ocean before?" Seriously. The poor bastard doesn't know.

"Ya ain't seen an ocean... Have ya seen a lake? Pool? Anything waterwise larger than a bathtub?"

"An' Rhode Island, where I spent my time on Earth? Not exactly this kinda tropical climate. Cold enough that once I kicked my team apparently moved to Cali."

"So do you know how to swim?"

"Hey Slobo," she said, smiling. "Enjoying yourself?"

Katara pulled a wave from the ocean and started to move it around in the air a little bit. "So," she said, "anyone you miss back home?"
no subject
"What about you?" He says, changing the subject. "You seem to have brought yer whole crew here with ya. Anyone left where yer from?"
no subject
Katara looked down a moment. "I miss my group a lot. Right now you've probably met Sokka and Zuko by now: they're part of the group. But there's also Toph, one of my best friends. We're both different and sometimes she can be really crude, but she was like a sister. There's no one I trust as much as her."
Katara had a slight change in her eyes, as if they got slightly bluer. "And then there's Aang, the avatar. A part of our group, the master of four elements. I was the one who found him after he woke up."
And there was SO much more, but that was only if he asked. It was becoming a rather tender subject lately.
no subject
"Huh. Sounds like ya miss this Aang guy most of all." As he pointed out the obvious, his own mind drifted. "I got someone like that back home... Someone I, yanno, really miss. It can hurt." Another pause. "Especially when ya wish ya had said things before you were gone." His mood seemed to sink as he described the feeling.

And then that blissful look changed to a more hardened look, as if all the optimism Katara had was only a passing thing. "And he's somewhere on this ship, being kept away."
