Blind Date Meme

I feel vaguely bad posting this since we've had a few other memes over the last few days but. I wanna spam the hell out of everyone. .___.

In honour of the fact that it's Valentine's tomorrow in my corner of the world, I bring you the Blind Date Meme!

Somehow, someway, your character has agreed to a blind date (or several). Maybe they were coerced into it, maybe they don't actually mind the idea, maybe it's just Stacy messing with everyone's heads again, but they're here now. And at the very least, it shouldn't be boring for them.

♥ Make a comment for your character, you can outline a mini-setting if you want. (Think along the lines of the 'Waking up in bed' meme we had a little while back.)

♥ Other characters comment to that as the other half of the blind date!

♥ SPAM HAPPENS.

My inbox dies horribly PROFIT!*

* 'PROFIT' may not apply if participants' idea of profit is anything other than large amounts of spam. Offer void outside the internets.

...well that's a fair point, I guess. But you don't really get rejected that much, do you?

Yeah, but the shapeshifting thing... [Leeeeeeeering so much right now]

[identity profile] carbon-copy-man.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
And after this? Say, you meet someone, want to have a little more fun later...

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Katara was definitely startled by this. She did double take, then looked at Nura closely. "I'm pretty sure I never met you before. So unless You heard it from someone else, I'm thinking you might have a power that gives you the ability to read people's minds?"

Katara was just learning the definition of telepath.

Dear Brainies: sex exists. check the internet for details

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
[It's not as though Lyle doesn't appreciate someone's mind for once not going into the gutter. It's just a little weird that Brainy doesn't seem to know gutters even exist.

Lyle debates explaining it to him, but he's already gotten in his teasing quota for the day, so he'll skip it.]

There's no point in having it if you don't think of every way you can use it.

[Yes, he was talking about strategy. Of course. Turning visible now. Ignore the amused expression.]

[identity profile] callmeotterpop.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
I get rejected all the time. [He frowned] Or did you miss the fact that I've been single for a few years?

[He blinked a bit and then smirked]

I preferred her blue.

[identity profile] outthink-death.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
[He's just going to stand there, arms folded, alternating between glaring at everyone and frowning at her. Grife, you'd think the crowd could have covered his escape.]

I don't dance, Nura.

[identity profile] carbon-copy-man.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe your technique just needs work? Plus X-Men.. and mutant teams in general it seems... aren't that great at keeping relationships up. I should know.

Hmm, blue could be... And in bed?

[identity profile] crysteel-future.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Close." She smiles. "I'm a precog. I can foresee bits and pieces of the future."

[identity profile] callmeotterpop.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
[He laughs]

Except for Scott, who doesn't even try and gets the hotties lining up at his door. Same with Warren. The pricks.

[He smirks]

She's a real animal in bed. She doesn't need those powers of hers to make it more interesting.

You really want to overload B5's systems like that?

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Gutters? He has no idea what that has to do with anything. And Lyle probably exceeded his teasing quota.

Brainy thinks about this]

You mean planning as many infiltration tactics as could be feasible? We did have Cham go undercover once...

Yes. And record it. And upload it to youtube!

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Lyle is probably over his teasing quota for the decade, yes.]

Really? [Now his interest is perked.] Do you have an Espionage Squad?

[identity profile] crysteel-future.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
[against his precog wife/fiancee? Not a chance. Luckily/un-luckily for him, the energetic ballad was at its last few seconds and a slow song comes on. The club lights dim blue hues.]

Please? [she holds out her hand.] For me?

[identity profile] carbon-copy-man.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Jamie shrugs]

Yeah, but look at what Scott's gotten to work with. As wonderful as Jean can be...

[She also gets really dead an awful lot. :| ]

[And Jamie's going to move a little closer to Bobby now]

Really? At least the last time was a good one, then?

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh," Katara said, truly startled now. That was not a power she'd been familiar with: in fact, it sounded like a power that would be dangerous in the wrong hands, or found out about by the wrong person.

Thinking like a Bene Gesserit again, Katara scolded herself, shaking her head. There aren't boogie men trying to swoop down and get me at any turn anymore!

"Precog. I haven't heard of that power...at least, not as something called precog. In my world its usually called fortune telling."

You get an adorable teenbot, and you always want to break it.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Espionage Squad? No, nothing like that. We had Cham try and go in to learn more about Imperiex's plans, but it... didn't end well.

[identity profile] outthink-death.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Grife, Nura. This is awkward and he's rubbing the back of his neck a little.]

...I'm not well educated in the area.

He'd be more careful if this wasn't the crack comm. Because he is not evil like I am.

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
[So much for his hope of spy stories.]

Was he all right?

Sadly I approve this evilness. B5 has no hope.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
He recovered quickly enough. The error was my fault, I'm afraid.

hugging, teasing, stealing of body parts ... he's doomed

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Espionage is pretty tough, not to mention dangerous. But it's necessary.

Well, at least he's not dead- owait.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Actually the problem was more with my attempt to help Cham... improve his performance.

And it turned out to be futile either way, since the plan was discovered early in and Cham was fed false information.

[identity profile] gogopowersuit.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Meet someone? [Ohlolwut. Samus makes this 'Are you serious' face]

at least he gets a lot of action for a dead guy? dates, even!

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Lyle is raising his eyebrows all the way up. Does he really want to know?]

I'm sure I've made bigger screw-ups.

That is something, true. ...he could go for less hugs though.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh lookit that interesting thing over there. He'll just stare at it rather than Lyle.]

Well, he recovered and we were able to stop Imperiex regardless, so there's that. I don't think Cham bore much of a grudge either.

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I doubt that. [she smiles her warm smile of encouragment and takes his arms and puts them around her.] Just take my hand [threads her fingers through his] and follow me. [she pulls him into a soft slow dance. It's step, step, turn rhythm.]

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Mmmhm. Fortune telling is not a term one would call a precog where I am from. Unless it is meant as an insults." She smiles, shaking it off. Katara meant no harm, only curiosity.

"Tell me, Katara." She sits down and crosses one leg over the other. "It must be very exciting to be a waterbender."
