Blind Date Meme

I feel vaguely bad posting this since we've had a few other memes over the last few days but. I wanna spam the hell out of everyone. .___.

In honour of the fact that it's Valentine's tomorrow in my corner of the world, I bring you the Blind Date Meme!

Somehow, someway, your character has agreed to a blind date (or several). Maybe they were coerced into it, maybe they don't actually mind the idea, maybe it's just Stacy messing with everyone's heads again, but they're here now. And at the very least, it shouldn't be boring for them.

♥ Make a comment for your character, you can outline a mini-setting if you want. (Think along the lines of the 'Waking up in bed' meme we had a little while back.)

♥ Other characters comment to that as the other half of the blind date!

♥ SPAM HAPPENS.

My inbox dies horribly PROFIT!*

* 'PROFIT' may not apply if participants' idea of profit is anything other than large amounts of spam. Offer void outside the internets.

Jacques Foccart, I believe. Someone you know?

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
[It's such a good thing he was prepared for that and looking away. Though now he's having idle thoughts of going to B5's universe and stealing his Jacques.]

[Lyle's answer is additionally delayed by the idea that Jacques didn't pass try-outs. Does their Legion have no taste?]

Hm? Oh, no.

You know, we should probably be talking about something other than work.

I have no idea why he didn't pass. Maybe they do indeed lack taste?

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Luckily for Lyle, Brainy's not so great on social skills and interprets that as boredom with the conversation.]

To be honest, I'm not sure what you're supposed to be talking about in a situation such as this. You probably have more experience there than I do.

Maybe he was invisible too long and they forgot he was there

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
You usually flirt.

[Brainy doesn't know how to do that, does he?]

And you talk about what you like to do, see if you have anything in common, things like that.

Not the same IK but...

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture! (http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs50/f/2009/306/7/4/Lyle_in_the_Legion_cartoon_by_SaintAsh.jpg)]

....that's not--

I'm not exactly very... knowledgeable on the topic...

[No, he reeeeally doesn't]

Maybe we should try the other options instead?

I was the first one to translate the interlac! ...I'm such a dork

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
All right. Do you like long, romantic walks on the beach and people with a sense of humor?

I think you mean 'really awesome' XD

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
I've never really tried the first, and I suppose the second is fine if it's not obnoxious...

I tend to put my work first, however.

I just couldn't be in the dark about a Lyle joke. Socute Lyle

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Why is Lyle not surprised that Brainy missed the joke?]

What do you do besides work, then?

YES. Though I don't see this version as being that shy. XD

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
...Besides work?

[Give him a minute to think, Lyle]

...............I suppose personal inventions and projects don't count?

Well, if 3boot Lyle can be shy ... maybe he was just spying on them the entire time

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Not surprised--not that he's much better.]

Projects, maybe. But I was talking about things outside the lab.

3boot Brainy would have made him too. :|

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
.......not like patrols?

[Yeah, this isn't easy by any means]

...I may have done some sightseeing with Superman once...

Again, this is why Lyle needs to teach 3boot Lyle to stick up for himself. And bother Brainy more

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? And did you sightsee anything but Superman?

The problem with talking about your work is I'd want to see it.

The entire 3boot Legion needs that lesson. Apparently Cos was the only one standing up to him.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that is a problem, yes. But I'm not sure that there's much I could show you that would be so different from my counterpart's work.

Unfortunately sightseeing normally ends up with us under attack as well.

Standing up with goats, which is the best kind of standing up.

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know about that. You are different people.

What's the saying ... "Once a cop, you're a cop no matter where you go"?

Lyle would approve of that method, right?

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
...I'm not a cop. But I get the sentiment.

I suppose there might be differences in our work, but the end result would be the same.

Unless you want to see the cloaking belts I created? [And he's smirking at you, Lyle]

Except for what happened to the goats.

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
That depends, are you up for helpful suggestions for improvement?

Tasmia was hungry?

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, actually. I'd be interested on hearing your input, and you do seem to know what you're talking about.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Brainy has his Legion belt buckle off a moment later bow chicka]

Here. Twist to the left two clicks to activate it.

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Lyle plays around with the shiny new toy carefully examines the belt buckle. He experiments with seeing what it can do as well as having a look at its inner working with his omnicom.]

Hmmmmm ...

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
What do you think?

[praise me praise me praise me praise me praise me--]

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
It looks good, but my invisibility does have one obvious advantage over it.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
[-praise me praise me... what? Was that a compliment or not?]

What's that?

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
[He raises an index finger pointedly.]

No one can do this to me.

[Disappears. With the belt buckle.]

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
..........[POUT]

Lyle, you know I can detect things a range of different ways, including heat signals, don't you?
