Actor Meme!

It's Transmigration 9 Studios. No, the name doesn't make any sense, except that the owner, Stacy, has owned eight studios before this and they've all crashed and burned. Which feels so great for the actors and their sense of job security, let me tell you.

As soon as they're done with their scenes, the characters stop playing their roles and make it real. The scripts are tossed aside, and they can relax now that the cameras are off of them.

What does this mean? Well, perhaps Billy is an actual college graduate, who is disgusted with the scientific inaccuracies and techspeak mumbo-jumbo of his character. Perhaps Kang is a fit Japanese man in a rubber dragon suit. Maybe Renne is a former theater actor that speaks with a posh English accent? Who knows, perhaps Nehaa is a conservative Catholic who finds her role as a stripperiffic space goat horrifying! And it might an ongoing joke off-screen that Leon can't fight for shit, Steve's actor stands in for him during action scenes.

Just roll with it, guys, it's better than my first idea of the night.

She smiles sweetly and claps a hand to his shoulder. And then digs her fingers into the nerve plexus there. "Because," she starts, still smiling sweetly, "Volstagg's one of us. And I'm pretty sure you'd want some support if something just happened to hospitalize you, right?"

He winced.

"Yeah. Yeah. One big happy family. Got it."

She beams, patting his shoulder lightly. "Good to hear!" With that, she moves on, whistling cheerfully to herself.

Lucky him.

Soran Ibrahim, the actor who played Setsuna F. Seiei, looked annoyed at the latest script.

"This is bullshit! Can't I have a line of dialogue that isn't just me saying someone's full name? Or 'I am Gundam'? We get it already." He flipped further through the script, his scowl deepening.

"Seriously, can I stop riding Kira's jock sometime soon? No wonder most of the famdom thinks we want to fuck each other."

Tavros stops scrubbing off the grey facepaint and glances back at Aibghalien. "Is it really acting if you're the stuffy old dude on and off the set, though? Face it, bro. We got typecast. Next season we'll probably be mentor and student or some shit."

"I believe I'm lined up to play a villain next season, come to think of it," he said, eyes shining with the joy. Everyone knows villains are the truly admirable and nuanced roles.

"Oh, stop being such a brat!" Hikari's actress shouted as she walked over to her. God, Sasami's actress was annoying as all heck, and Hikari had to be nice to her. All the time.

It was really annoying! If only they hadn't added Einhart to the show, she might've gotten to keep working with Vivio's actress instead.

And then there was Devlin's actor. Oh, god, Devlin's actor. Why the hell did they pair her character with him anyway!

"At least you're acting a character that's your age; I'm stuck being a damm twelve year old!" She was already sixteen, but she was short. And didn't have much boobage, so playing a kidlet was all she was given. Damn japanese genetics.

Sasami couldn't help but roll her eyes at Hikari. Again with the "too old for for this role" bit.

"Well, if some people weren't more popular than others, I wouldn't have to work with a complainer like you!" she snapped. Oh, if that stupid actor who played Superman weren't around - she would have been in a better role than this! "If you don't like it, why don't you go complain?"

"Hey, at least you GET some sort of purpose!" came the voice of Lowe's actor. "Sometimes I wonder why they even got me in this show!" It was probably a no-brainer - they wanted someone smart and since SEED was still big, they chose from there. Too bad Lowe's a little on the obscure side for SEED fandom.

"I was doing better as part of the effects crew..."

Hikari glared over at her. "I don't see you doing anything else other than complaining!"

"What?! What do you mean you don't have anything for me?!" came the voice of Shadow's actor... a young boy in an animatronic. He pulled off his head as the boy spoke up again as he pointed to Sasami's actor. "There has to be something! I'm getting tired of being sidelined for little miss prissy pants over there!"

Nope, nothing special for him still. Defeated, the actor headed for his seat and plopped down. "I betcha they're gonna even get rid of that romance bit..." He... couldn't help but at least harbor a minor crush on Alessa's actress.

"Yeah, yeah...!" she said, waving her off dismissing her before she propped her arm on her chin and began looking around randomly. "...at least you have a chance to get a bit further here..."

"Yeah, if I don't quit before I get the chance," Hikari sighed, looking around as well. "They're having me be romantic with a ten-year-old kid! A ten-year-old! Kid's not even old enough to realize he's doing something at kids a bit older than him only dream of."

"I'm pretty much doing the same thing!" Sasami said. "I don't get it with half of these people here! We're kids, we shouldn't be doing some of this!" She couldn't help but slump down.

Hikari sighed. "How many times do they need to get yelled at by the censors before they stop this stupidity..."

"Like anyone will even notice you after that whole Big Zero takedown plot. They'll probably just have you blow yourself up again." There's no hiding it though. He's totally jealous. Villain roles can be amazing, but he keeps getting these nice guy kiddie roles. "Speaking of. That whole Punishment thing? Fucked up. Can they even show that? I thought there were, like, decency laws or something."

::....in this blasted costume and frankly, it's difficult for even him to crawl out of. Prosthetics, the occasional robotic piece attached. And sweet gods, the MAKEUP! Oh, the hours in the chair, it'd make Peter Weller himself cringe.

Ah well, the role's overall, pretty exciting anyway, so he's halfway to a dressing room, really, really trying to get this thing off of him. And close, on his accent!::

Bloody thing...C'mon, c'moff!

::He'll be getting out of this costume soon. Really, he will, but honestly, given that it takes several hours to put on, it takes near as long to take it off. That's really the only annoying part of wearing this thing. Already he's found his cane and he's wandering toward the ill-fated 'drink table'::

"Here," comes the voice, pressing the glass into the unoccupied hand. "Can you drink like that?"

Billy sounds worried. He knew it was probably frustrating for the kid to have to spend so much time with him on-set, so he'd quickly keep his distance if deemed necessary.

::That just earns a chuckle and a shake of his head. The chuckle is something rather pleasing out of him, as if the mere sound of that voice is enough to bring a smile::

Ah, dinna' worry, eh? I c'n near live in this 'ing 'f I wan'ed. How....Wait. What'che doin' stuck 'ere?

::One of the animatronic ears gives a twitch. Since his face can't really be seen, he'd grown very appreciative of the robotics and animatronics departments!::

That voice was pleasant to listen to. He was sure the kid appreciated being able to speak normally for a little while.

"That's dedication," Billy complimented. "Don't you worry about me. I just made the error of attempting to discuss my role to the producers. I'm being publicly put in my place."

Five hours in th' chair, I live in th' bloody chair.

::And then the costumed kid outright glares. Animatronic ears flatten back. The cloth around the glass/fiber optic eyes closes a little.::

"Place" my arse. What've they go' with ye, huh?

That expression is so realistic and so terrifying. IF it was directed at him, he'd be cowering.

"I wanted Billy to get better at fighting. He's been working at it slowly, but he rarely gets chances to prove himself. Apparently the fans want a somewhat vulnerable character to laugh at or cheer for, depending on their preferences, and if I don't like it I can go to a peace conference.

It's all whispered, of course, for fear of being overheard.

::That gets an eyeroll. Not directed at him, but at the whole concept of what he'd just heard.::

Y'know...I could see th' slow developmen' but too slow, an' there's no' movement, y'ken? Vulnerability.. They got ye in tha' mindset on-set? No chance?

::Were it not for the fact that it's the ears moving, one might fancy the faint whirring sound being little gears in his brain::

"If there is a chance, it's not coming from my own will. If the fans demand it, maybe, but...I'll have to get their attention."

Billy is determined to do this by acting his part well.
