"Ahang."

"Just gotta nod or shake your head, but how's your stomach?"
no subject
"Kind of fluttery, like I'm going to be sick, but not," she admitted, "I've been feeling off the last hour, to be honest. How's my temperature?"

And she was cut off by her own fit of coughing, then made a face. "Kharma is a jerk!"

Kaylee rubs Katara's shoulder, and gives her an encouraging push toward her bunk. "C'mon, just 'til we know for sure if it's gonna get worse."
no subject
"All right," she said, and when she lay down, the world started to spin. "Uh oh. Um, could you please get me a basin?"
no subject
Kaylee's quick to move the basin to Katara, and is ready to hold her hair back if necessary.
no subject
Katara grabs the sides of the basin and heaves in, unaware of how this even came to be and keeps her head bowed low after she's done. Being sick was one thing, but this was pretty mortifying.

Her head's getti8ng all dizzy again.

Billy is rushing to her side, his accumulated sick-kit sanitized and safe in his hands. "Katara..."
There's his hand at her forehead. "It looks like we finally wore you out."
no subject
"I was hoping I could last a little longer," she said, groaning. She wiped her brow, teeth chattering. "But maybe I can make a few more soups so.."
She shook her head . "How am I?'
no subject
He placed a hand on her arm. "Let's get you to bed."
no subject
And that's enough talking, because she's taking his hand and walking over to the bed. She's actually starting to feel less and less ok, the longer she stands, and now she starting to feel the color drain from her face.
no subject
"You've done more than your fair share of help," Billy assured her, pulling down the covers and helping her into bed. "I'm not an expert healer like you, but I should be able to do something. Soup first?"
no subject
"That's fine, and thank you Billy. Yes, whatever you can manage will be OK. I'm in no position to be demanding anything more than that."
no subject
Billy secured the blanket more tightly around her before he left, starting in on the soup. Just boil water, add some broth, a few vegetables, a spice, stir...
He can't promise it's great soup, but he's followed some scraps of a recipe. It should at least be passable. Soon enough, he comes back to Katara and sits on the bed beside her, passing the soup.
"Here, take your time."
no subject
"I will, thanks," she said, and started to taste the soup. It was tasty for a first try, and she started to eat with slow gusto. "It's good," she told him. "Is this your first time cooking for someone?"

"It's delicious, thank you," she said, and despite the sickness, reached over and gave him a hug. She couldn't help it: he'd been a rock for her more than he knew.
no subject
"You don't have to thank me," was his answer. When she drew back, he rearranged the pillows behind her and reached for the medicine. "Here, I have a pill that's been effective for the others."
It's presented with a glass of water.

The glass of water at least looked inviting.
